I just found you through your NFT video and I have to say I'm really enjoying your content; thank you for taking the time to produce it! The most optimistic imagining of the metaverse I've encountered is Vernor Vinge's "Rainbows End," and the most pessimistic is the 2013 film "The Congress."

I do think the metaverse will, as certain generations rise & technology advances, just have chips implanted to be immersive. You won’t need VR headsets IMO, but time will tell. As these become more mainstream, I do think individuals will eventually stop wanting to travel because you can do it through AR…but hopefully not as it’d be an even easier way to control information given to the public & we may lose actual experiences. I am excited regardless to see how this goes short and hopefully long term.

I don't think we're anywhere near a fully realized metaverse. So, more than a decade for sure.

Sincerely asking, what is the difference between metaverse and online mmo game except metaverse wearing VR google instead of monitor ?
All the feature (like changing skin, expanding and decorating house, meet each other, etc) are very common with current mmo game.
Maybe i am very less understanding the metaverse, but imo this metaverse is only upgrade to present mmo game, not a super hype future at all.
the tech has not reach a point where its practical to use. First the problem is battery life and performance. The second is the visual quality. Also why do I want to put a screen on my head when the monitor or the smart phone with a screen is so much easier to use
Yeah, this isn't at all ready yet. As I said in the video, AR glasses will really change things. VR is not good enough for this.

Metaverse has been done already by siny when they did playstation home its Facebook or shall I say Meta that is copying a playstation home and rec room does exactly the same thing
Remember the MTV show focused on socially awkward and/or anxiety ridden folks who experienced their life more comfortably through SecondLife? That still exists and the graphics are much better than Roblox. None of that matters anymore. We are on the verge of a virtual revolution that frankly, I don’t think we are ready for. There are more similarities with our reality and the meta verse of Snowcrash, than vice-versa.

I can imagine in the future people will play games like Pokémon or Zelda with AR glasses in their local towns and forrests. Instead of a digital purse, companies will try to sell you a real purse compatible with the game. Old people will probably complain because all the kids running on the streets

Nah internet doesn't sound just as silly as metaverse 50 years ago. You are full of it. Metaverse definetly sounds corny, cheesy and cocky. Internet is a technical term that has never sounded corny to anyone. But you just said that cuz you know deep down this metaverse is a big piece of garbage that you wanna promote as this futuristic ascension when it's really a freedom depriving addiction trap adpocalypse nightmare. Even the graphics suck. It's like roblox. A videogame will not be the next internet. It's just a videogame. People already buying these "virtual estates" to rack in money. You cannot replace the internet. And if they take down the internet and replace it with this garbage. It is an absolute attack on our freedoms, the internet is not patented by anyone and belongs to everyone. So if they want their Moronverse, they better do it as a seperate entity to the internet.
If you watched the video through to the end I think you’ll see I’m not exactly fond of a “Metaverse” owned piece-meal by private companies.
