The more I know about Metaverse, the more I want to move to a house in a tiny village.
I've done that and don't regret it. Forest right in front of my window. Great way to acclimate from this tech dominated world. I love tech, don't get me wrong. But it's important that we don't forget our connection to nature. Now more than ever.

Utilizing this technology in an appropriate way is really a crucial thing.
I see the benefits for making experience more accessible when limited by strength or physical ability, reduce commutes and the impact on the environment for remote work - it's true - remote working is isolated and unstimulating in the long term. Of course this would never completely replace IRL, it's adjunct to it. Sounds fun and with lots of potential. Even stuff we haven't thought to be beneficial yet. Be good to solve poverty and basic housing so everything can feel safe when venturing into the metaverse. Cities will expand if you don't need to live close to transport or cities.

Someone mentioned to me this Meta thing. From what they told me it seems that I could be somewhere else with a bunch of friends and things or travel to Mexico or Italy without actually traveling. But I said no matter what, no matter where I go or what I'm doing I won't be able to breathe that air that is in Italy or that area that is in Mexico so it's not the same I won't be able to feel the heat of the Sun in Mexico or Italy either.

It's already like that with people on screens. Our opportunity for face to face social interactions has already been compromised but many younger people don't feel it because it's all they've grown up with. In the future, people will have to agree to tech-free times of day which will coincide to give a larger number an opportunity to interact in the real world again. And I think there will be a subculture of those who prefer to opt out of this kind of technology as much as possible, and I hope they can all choose to live in close proximity within one smaller part of a city or on the outskirts of a city so those who prefer to live in the real world can still form a community and not be isolated dots sitting in a sea of people using virtual reality. I think whoever now owns farmland could consider reserving some for developments which will cater to those who want to live in reality and in nature and can choose to live there so they can still enjoy real human contact. If we don't plan for this, well, good luck with the augmented isolation.
What’s the difference from today when you go take your kids or dog to the parks and everyone there has their face buried in their phones .. lol they might as well be in the Metaverse .. Well for most people now, no, but when they get their hands on it and see what this tech can really do, probably. I wouldn’t say I fear it, because I understand that this is our fate and there is no stopping it. With success, there will always be downfall. We may or may not be experiencing the very beginning of it. We are lucky. All we will see from this technology is it’s best qualities. The immediate future could be very bright when it comes to the “metaverse” (that name will change pretty quickly I predict). However, Facebook/Meta has too much power over it which must change early on. Anyways, just my thoughts.

We are becoming more interconnected and more sociable, we can now write to people all over the world, talk to people all over the world, look at the people all over the world and now with Metaverse we can do it all at once. It is a great achievement in bringing people together.
