I just bought the same tractor with low hours for its year. Thank you for the video I look forward to learning more from you about the 1020 in future videos.

I will post some more on the 1020 - cool little tractors for sure.

Thanks for your videos! I bought a 1030 a couple months back and changed the oil but forgot about this pump sump. I opened the drain plug and only about 2 tbsp of strangely thin oil came out 😅. I filled her up good with 30w (Texas). The inlet was much easier to reach on the 1030, didn't have to move the fuel filter. Appreciate the videos, would love to see more!

Thanks! I will be doing some more on the 1020. I have a few "upgrades" that I plan and I'll do some on those. I appreciate the comment and enjoy the 1030.

My 1988 1020 2wd 3speed non-loader hydro with 1800 hours is a nee-TO little tractor. The poor little pre-owned,rough-life,third or fourth owned rig has a "blow head gasket" ;aka --- incapacitated. I miss it so much for light duty chores( have two other newer & larger tractors). The fuel injector reservoir is a tricky system. It needs it's service, but by experimenting in a measlely 15 minutes of use the oil is completely contaminated with the crankcase oil. It does hold a lot of metal(wear contamination) if not serviced regularly though. I have an after market loader ordered for it ( 2800.oo$) than will need a lot of adaptation---been waiting 2 1/2 months---as usual these days. Did adapt a 6' dozzer-plow blade on the front ---almost acts like a D9 when running properly. It runs a 5' roto-tiller marvelous. It may even get a turbo-charger to Boost its 21 hp or the head gasket repair will solve all the problems. Thank you for the great Video Sir and happy safe tractoring.

They are neat little tractors - I have a 20hp 204 in need of a head gasket, I feel your pain

Love your video. Would you make one on hydraulic oil and filter service?

I will do that as mine is in need, it may be a month or two, but I'll post it. Thanks for watching!

Hi sir thanks for sharing, i have a MF1010 similar to yours, don't hesitate to add more oil in the injection pump, because there is a overfill hole linked to the engine oil pan, the excess oil will go into the engine oil pan, you better be sure the injection camshaft won't miss oil. I have a question for you i am looking for a generic oil filter witch can be found easily from NAPA.

Off hand I don't have a cross for the filter, I usually just pick up a filter when I am at the dealer, don't need them too often for this tractor. Thanks!

Hey you probably found one already but I have the WIX 51391 on my 1030, same as NAPA 551391

I have another comment for you. What do you know about the hydraulic system? My 1020 has a loader that operates very slowly until it warms up. I suspect a clogged screen? It has a new filter back by the left rear tire but is there another filter or screen?
    Thank you so much!

I can't say I know a lot about the hydraulics, however, I would consider changing the oil if you haven't and be sure it's proper spec. Heavier oil could make it respond more slowly until warm. I can't recall if there is another screen, but it is likely.

Hey Aaron the 1020 hydrostatic has TWO hydraulic filters (quite expensive ). I think you have a" clog-a-lation problem in one or both. Just go to the Massey-Ferguson dealer & plob down 135.°°$ & 65.°°$ for the both of them and get RID of that contaminated-water-logged hydraulic fluid it "FIXES IT" everytime!

Donald Strishock thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I can’t wait to get it fixed now!
