In this video I show you how to change your filters and how to bleed the air out of your fuel system. Check out my other video on this 205 and other tractors.
Picked up a 1980-ish 205 recently. Runs good and doesn’t appear to be beat up, but unfortunately I don’t know much about the tractor history or maintenance (previous owner unfortunately no longer with us). So I’m looking at changing oil and new filters, coolant etc just to be on the safe side. This video is a great help - thank you for posting. If it helps anyone watching this, the WIX filter #s mentioned in your video are 51391 oil 46270 air 33390 fuel I found all on Amazon for approx $45 CDN. Thanks again for great video
That is an awesome tractor. I've been lookn for a 210-4 for 5 years, but 205-4 is just as nice. Think owner would sell? Also what movie maker do you use? Thanks
I'm beginning my research on how to service the transmission/hydraulic fluid filter/strainer. I believe they are the same part. Any advice on confirming this and the location of the strainer would be appreciated please.
Good video. Where can you find the decals, and knobs for the H/L I notice my Throttle control keeps moving back to idle. Does not stay where you put it. How do you tigten it up?
Charles I would suggest giving your Massey dealer a call and they can assist you with parts and other questions. I worked on this tractor for a customer so don’t have it to look at for additional info. Good luck!
I have a steering issue...looks like the bottom bearing/race on the steering column is shot. I have a shop manual but the pictures in it are not very clear. I found the bearings for it. Can I change the lower bearing without removing the entire steering column
I’ve got the opportunity to buy a 205 2WD with about 700 hours on it. Don’t know the year. My property is pretty hilly and I’m concerned the 2WD might not be enough. Does anyone have any experience with the 2WD? What is it best used for? It has a mower attachment, but I don’t think it’s a brush cutter, more for a large lawn. Any thoughts? I’ve never owned a tractor.
I’m a fan of pretty much any old tractor. Thanks for helping to keep them running!
Beautiful tractor. I had a 205 2wd that was tough as nails

I've saw one online for sale recently but needed a motor rebuild. This one is not for sale and I'm using Adobe Premier Pro.
Nice video! Do you know what type of transmission fluid the 205 takes?

Scott I don’t know anything about the transmission servicing. I recommend calling your Massey dealer and getting the info. Have a great day!

@@nashsummers8050 Fortunately the dealer who sold the tractor is still around.
Have you ever replaced the single plate clutch on the MF 205-4? Would appreciate seeing that.
Thanks
No sure haven’t.
Just got a 1981 massey ferguson 205-4. You can just use a garden hose spraying water to flush the radiator?
Yes you don’t want to use too much pressure or you can damage the radiator.
@@nashsummers8050 thank you for the information, really appreciate you taking time to respond.

Richard I’m not sure I’d consult a Massey dealer and see if they can assist you.

Changing the rear axle seal, can't get the rear hub off. Any suggestions?
Not sure are you using a service manual?
Can you use diesel from typical gas station or is a special diesel required?
Gas station Diesel is fine.
@@nashsummers8050 thank you
Where did you find the information about the type of engine oil and hydraulic oil?
I asked my AGCO dealer.
@@nashsummers8050 Thanks
