  • Thanks to REVrides for loaning these Zero Electric scooters to test and to make this video. There are so many electric scooters on the market, choosing the best e-scooter can be overwhelming. I recommend going with a quality established electric scooter line like the Zero Electric Scooter Collection. But even within the Zero E-scooter line, there are many options to choose from.
Andrew, the electric scooter guru, and I go over the key points you should know about each of the Zero e-scooters so you can make an informed decision with your next purchase.
For most up to date pricing on the Zero line:

Nice video Jimmy. I've had my Zero 10X for at least 2 years, it has been rock solid for me!! I've been trying to get the 11X for months. I just can't get connected there, but absolutely a fantastic scooter company, and their scooters are in great value! I just can't get the one that I want, but in all it's been a good time I love it!!

I went with Zero10x, for one main reason: suspension, nothing beats that. Maybe Dualtron, but that's another price point.
I live in a place which has lots of hills, so a dual motor helps me a lot. It goes fast enough, 55km/h on a flat road.
I added nutt Hydraulic brakes, and a clamp against wobbles.
It does fold, so no problem to take on car's trunk. I always ask other people to lift it for me though, as I have back injury... The reason why I am going with this scooter to begin with.
To sum it, I love it, and I think I made the right choice! Just right, for me.

I picked up a FFR Horizon (which is basically a Zero 8) on Black Friday thanks to a Jimmy pointing it out as a good alternative to the discontinued Turbowheel Swift. So far pretty happy with it. I thought 22mph would be enough for me since I don't tend to ride faster than that on my EUC, but the scooter feels way less... dramatic?... at that speed and I feel like I could probably have pushed for something faster if I wanted to. Given how much I (don't) ride it though, I'm happy with the choice. Zero 8 gets my vote from a scooter noobie.

@@freshlycharged upgrading from an Xprit 6" solid tires (350$CAD), the Xr Elite is very smooth and enjoyable. The breaks are the best part of it (being 550$CAD) it's very good. Id say the part i dislike is mostly the limit of 15.5 mph (Gps says 14.5 mph actually) when it goes to 15.7 mph (on the counter) it will automatically break for you to keep you around 15.5, sometimes it will drop to 14.7 and then go back up. That is very wierd, at least just stop the motor, don't break instead of me... I think I like it for the price, acceleration is nice and it goes uphills quite nicely (I'm 155 pounds). The slime prefilled air tire are a nice thing also, don't have to worry as much about punctures :) I'd recommend it to any new users for their first e-scooter. Other thing, there is no app/Bluetooth to connect with, you have what you buy. The cruise control takes 10 secondes to activate and doesn't tell you when it's activated

Not to mention they are heavy (I'm 140lb) I think the Goldie locks scooter is actually going to be the 9 for most, 10 for others. The X line is for more hard core enthusiasts, they are more of a "what the F is that thing" kind of machine lol

I have a new Zero 10X 52v/23Ah which I love and goes great. But right out of the box it had an unusual problem... there are 3 things that don’t work and I think they’re all related. 1. The electronic braking system (EBS) doesn’t work regardless of its P11 setting. 2. The power cut-off when braking doesn’t work. It has the Zoom hydraulic brakes. 3. The stop lights don’t work. The headlights and normal taillights work perfectly. Any suggestions from you on these issues would be greatly appreciated. QUESTIONS rarely asked or answered! 1) A scooter might get dirty running in water poddles, mud, ...etc. How do you properly wash a scooter? 2) In colder climates, during winter, can a scooter be stored outside maybe during working hours without affecting the battery negatively? I am concerned that the battery might freeze and be non-functional. Can you address that? 3) Some cities have hill, some with steeper and tall hills. Can a scooter climb a steep, tall hill with a heavy person (300 lb) on it with damaging the motor or battery?

Too funny! I use to think the same thing. I started as a Onewheeler and was about to go full blown in the EUC world. But then I got a taste of a high powered scooter. I still love riding a Onewheel and EUC, but high powered scooters are a unique experience. Would love for you to try some and see if it changes your mind.

I can’t believe he thinks the locking stem
Matters at all? The scooter is too heavy to one hand it anyways, you want both hands on it to move it around anyways so I can’t imagine the locking folded stem matters at all.

Humm you maybe should flag this kind of content as sales pitch. I love your reviews, sales pitch, not so much.

@@dignanworldchampion By review, I mean testing the functionalities and give a personal appreciation of each. is it useful? are the numbers given by the manufacturer accurate or inflated?
I can read the spec sheet myself. To me, anything resembling "If you are [...] then you need [...]" is a sales pitch

I would have liked to see him mention something like how the Turbowheel Swift that he reviewed before is very similar to the Zero 8 and the Turbowheel Lightning, also previously reviewed) is also a modified Zero 10x. By not mentioning the fact that the Zero line is sold by tons of people in different names (Apollo, Fluid Freeride, Emove, direct from Alibaba, etc), I think it comes across as more of a commercial for Zero than a real review. Just my $0.02.

Using this scooter for short commutes is the way to go, as it makes it really fun. czcams.com/users/postUgkxvyNuxpWiHTNypxG6nyqyf7ywc7Q16PDM Both the levels of speed it allows you to use are very fun, though 20mph can get pretty scary on bad roads. It makes a cool electric sound as it is accelerating. The battery life is also pretty impressive, as I can go anywhere around me within a ~10 mile radius and back home with a full charge. I expected the tires to feel somewhat like a toy, but it is legit, and has pretty good grip on surfaces. Braking on this scooter is also really fun, since you can even do a little drifting if you break hard. The wheels on the scooter are definitely very high quality, as they are wide and well sized. The entire scooter is pretty high quality too. I have fallen on it a couple times because I was being a little reckless, and the scooter still works perfectly fine, with some minor scratches on the sides. I found the brake lights to be very cool as well, since they flash when you brake.
