The best tip I can give you to improve your impro skills is to use a backing track and play over it as much as possible.
If you make this part of your practice even for only 10 minutes a day you will see big improvements over time.
Here’s a vid of me getting into the groove playing over ‘All Of Me’.

What a refreshing way to address this great old song, no fireworks, no shredding, just making every note count, and thinking in a lyrical mode rather than a million notes that say nothing about the music. Keep up the great work Rob, it's a breath of fresh air to hear this approach to improvisation.

Classic example of the musician PLAYING WHAT THEY HEAR IN THEIR HEAD, rather than meaningless scales from "box whatever" that fit with the chords !! As always Robin - top class performance - inspirational - "have a go, take it slow" boss man!
