Yes! I'm aware that the comparison is unfair, as the Nitro 5 has an i5 with Hyperthreading and a much faster CPU in generall. But there are no Laptops with a GTX 1650 that have only 4 Cores. And the i5 Versions of the GTX 1050 didn't have 8 threads back then. SORRY!

The GTX 1650 is a bit faster than a GTX 1050 ti (Laptop)
And about as fast as the desktop version of the GTX 1050 ti.

GTX 1650 is a pretty good option for budget laptops. I'm impressed.
But not better than 1060. And in some markets 1060 costs less.
@@shuvamsky 2018 Acer predator helios 300. Gtx1060 6gb. Has thermal issues but as long as you repaste and dont push for high for 60 for most titles, 100+ is fine for LoL or OW as it will heat up a ton when not using max fan speed. Though I suppose most laptops do that already

@@winterchill3013 the new Helios 300 is good if you have an extra 300 or so dollars but for me the 2018 model is good enough after repasting for only 900$. + An SSD and it was all under 1k. 16gb ram too is a nice luxury as well
@@XxWarmancxX have you tried undervolting both CPU and GPU? It could very well bring down thermals by another 5° if done right.

At least the older vx15 cools much better , i just hope the next iteration of the nitro 5 will separate the heatsink design between the cpu and gpu , not how the cpu's heat has to cross over the gpu just to reach the fans :)

*I PRAY SOMEBODY READS THIS, I'M NEW TO PC GAMING.* I just got my Acer Nitro 5, 8GB Memory with a 1650 and I bought GTA 4 on steam but it won't let me load up the game and it's so frustrating. I can play Black Ops 1 and Far Cry 3 on it no problem... Hope someone can help me with this because it's frustrating since I'm new to PC gaming..

@@rickyrichreacts9667 look it up in the web. The gta4 port we got is damned, full of issues. You'll have to search the solution for yourself but i think most of the problems have solutions. It was way worse than the rdr2 port. However, I hope you get to run that cursed port, cheers!

I know that a lot of you complain about the two different CPUs.
BUT: The GTX 1050 mostly came with the 7300HQ (4 Cores 4 Threads) in the i5 version. When this video was made the gtx 1650 laptop was the world's first with the i5 9300HQ.
And as I wanted to compare i5 Versions (Same price region) I choose to go with the standard i5 Version for the GTX 1650 as well. As Most likely people will compare those two... I get that it's "Unfair" cause of the Hyperthreading and faster turbo. But thats just how it is in laptops. These aren't fully configurable desktop PCs.
BTW: In most games the performance difference is exactly the same as in 3DMark Firestrikes GRAPHIC Score (comparing GPU power ONLY).

Great that I bought a Lonovo Y540 with the 1650 and I7 9750 (This laptop can play anything in 1080p and 60 FP with setting between medium and high), there were a y740 with I7 8750 and nivia 2060 but it cost 40% more.

That's because the 1650 laptop has hyperthreading, the GPU is inconsequential in that regard.
To be fair though, the GTX 1050 laptop at this time is throttling it's CPU to 1398Mhz while the main CPU core on the GTX 1650 machine is at 4000Mhz..

@@Hubwood yeah I'll check the budget when I buy. I'll be able to get it in 6 months time. If the price drops to my budget I'll get the 1060 model. But the 1650 is pretty sweet too. I wish the next gen of consoles don't make the 1650 obsolete.

I got the hp pavilion laptop , 2019 updated. It has a GTX 1050, with a i59300h. It seems to be a rarity as most are a GTX 1050 with a i57300h or a GTX 1650 with a i59300h. I believe I got the best of both worlds with this. Performance and price.

I personally would never go for a max q model as its performance is heavily reliable on the cooling system and ambient temperatures...

My laptop (Lenovo Ideapad L340 15IRH) has the same specs with your Acer Nitro 5 but I'm only getting around 55 fps on average when playing Apex Legends on high settings. Any insights on why I'm only getting those numbers where yours has an average of 70fps?
At 2:24 you can see the 1050 laptop procesor has just 1.3 ghz and the 1650 laptop has 4.0ghz (and also the 1650 laptop processor has 8 cores not 4 like the 1050 laptop) wich normally make a big difference but still 1650 is better. The best way to compare these two graphics card is with asus fx505dd 1050 3gb and fx505dt 1650 cuz they have the same ram, same processor amd they are the same exept the graphics card cuz one has 1050 and the other one has 1650. Great vid!
If you look closely you can see, that the Mhz drop of the cpu has no impact on the fps. This is just how cpu load works.
And the 1650 Laptop does not have 8 cores. It has 4 cores and 8 THREADS. That's not the same as 8 cores. But yes. It's faster.
But as you can see, the fps difference in most games is very similar to the pure gpu driven firestrike test. So it doesn't matter that much.

This is the technology, every time something new comes out, it generally "runs faster" and the technology that was running at the time, is now walking (so slow compared to the new), and this will always be the case. technology world, although the price of what is now "old" is already more affordable, that would be the only advantage over the new, not to mention that with less time that component will become obsolete much faster.
So, inevitably there will always be something better, but you will have to pay more, and if it is something old, it will become obsolete much faster.

Well the video is 2 years old. Driver updates and game patches might have helped a bit. And recording slightly reduces the fps aswell.

Just about the right video I'm looking for. Now, I got my Lenovo IdeaPad L340 i7 9th gen, comes in 6 core/12 threads, 8gb ram, 4gb gtx 1650. I'd say this is the best bang for your buck if you're around the $1k budget. Laptop's pretty new. Isn't even a month old since Lenovo released it, I think

My version only had 60 hz.
There are rumors about a 144 hz version.
But even the 60hz laptop can bee attached to a 144 hz monitor and enjoy the benefits of that.

when you play the witcher, the i5 7300hq seems get turbo disabled, thus only 1.7-2 ish ghz
It's not. It does that when the cpu is not needed. If it owjld have impact on the fps you would see huge drops or spikes. But there aren't any.

At the beginning of the witcher 3 scenes, you can see, that the i5 is at 3 Ghz.
A few seconds later it drops to 2.4 Ghz but the frametime graph is absolutely stable, meaning there is no framedrop whatsoever. :)
So, yeah... that is so :D

While charging of course. The laptop is much slower when not plugged in. Cause it uses less power then

i have a laptop with gtx 1650 i7 9750h and 8gb ram playing any game not smooth does ram have big effect?
Bro here is a query, recently purchased asus tuf fx505gt with i5-9300h and 1650 graphics, i was running gta v in 1080p very high settings and was getting around 25-30fps so wanted to ask is it normal or is there some issues with the hardware?
Also the gpu is stuck at 1395Mhz and never go above that.
