Maybe not aging as good as its desktop equivalent but hey, this is an almost 8 yo laptop 60 gpu and the fact you can play on low-meds and its playable is pretty cool
the cpu is the main problem with it
there are many classics that are worth playing anyday.. san andreas, bioshock, gta 5, gta 4, fallout, GRIP, GRID (Grid is very underrated tbh)
minecraft, noita, far cry2, 3, 4, forza horizon, rocket league should run well too, one of my favorite games to grind xD
there are so many many games to play, there is one site, i dont know the name anymore, but there are thousands of games listed, i think all steam games are listed, and this site detects your hardware and you can filter by genre, release date etc... perfect for finding new games with your hardware, i gotta look it up and write it down because its a really nice site
i bet halo mcc runs well on this too... i dont know any game that is more optimized than halo reach... on a 6950xt it can run 8k native with high settings... halo 3 and the previous ones too, but halo reach beeing the newest (besides remaster / remake), im very impressed

I literally just sold my GTX 1060 laptop last month. It was the Gigabyte Aero 15 (2017) with 7700HQ and GTX 1060 6GB. It was solid the entire time and nothing was wrong with it. I have a lot of nostalgia around the GTX 10 series being great value/performance/longevity cards.
Only sold it because I wanted more system performance and better data transfer speeds.
recommendation from me dont buy a 2050/3050/4050 laptop either go for a 3060 or a 4060

I have the previous model, p505 with the 980m, released in 2015. It cost me more than 2000 euros back then, but I did buy it maxed out. It was when I still had money lol.

Hey Kryzzp, I've been enjoying watching ur videos for a really long long time. I just wanna suggest u to try something like "GPU Battle" where u test 2+ GPUS in different games, ranking( idk maybe points?) them according to their performance then summarizing which one performed well in all tested games. It's gonna be very helpful for ppl to analyze which one is better (maybe a good video series idea for ur channel, ik u have tried something similar like that in the past. Well what r u even losing doing it again with some changes?)

My first gaming laptop had a i7-8700h with a 1060 and i had it for 4 years, it was excellent.

nice video , maybe try FSR3 mod in cyberpunk works very good.
My gtx 1650 laptop still surprises me at 1080p, like most games play perfectly fine, the only game I play at 720p is Forza Motorsport because I don't want to play at a locked 30fps if I can avoid it and FSR is broken in that game.
I will tell you from experience:
I had (well still have, donating to a friend) a Medion laptop with a GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB of 2133Mhz and an i5 8300H
It shined in a lot of games that weren't particularly intensive, but MWII was where I realised it was falling behind. Even with low settings and FSR, keeping it 60+ was not an easy feat, coupled with a poor screen it was a hellish experience. The performance I see in Warzone 3.0 makes sense actually.
But for its time, it wasn't far off from what the desktop version can do, in spite of its lower power and weaker laptop CPU pairings
HAppy new yaer and btw in fh5, fps can drop while having night race so nigt race in city and tunel is the most demandind thing in game, but custom maps are way maore intensive due to lack of opitimalisation.

you should do a series or 1 video where you compare 30 series performance in DX12 games with the new FSR frame gen compared to their regular performance. (should be a nexus mod that disables DLSS framegen and turns it into FSR frame gen)
When testing the RX 560 on the entire far cry franchise? (If you play Far Cry 1 on max settings there is a setting of Render Mode, if You click it and set it to "Paradise" it looks awesome.)
the best video card from the budget segment now (my opinion), I switched to an rtx 3060 ti a couple of months ago and don’t regret it, but that video card (1060) was created for real gamers
Counter strike 2 has smooth frametimes on Fullscreen windowed mode aka borderless windowed mode as compared to the exclusive Fullscreen mode. It is a trend in many new games and all Dx12 games perform better on windowed fullscreen mode

Kyrzzp bro why almost no video about FSR Frame Generation mod? I appreciate the fact that you tested it on Avatar, obviously, it appears that you are interested in official versions, rather than just mods, or maybe because other channels are already covering FSR's FG enough, but bro the way you do it is insane, have us see FSR 3 FG in some gt 710 and 1030, and some gtx 1060 and maybe compare RTX 40' series' FG to FSR? come on bro! I have big faith in you
good video, in rust please use the gc.buffer setting in the experimental settings, it is to do garbage collection with the ram, i used to do a F1 command - "gc.buffer 4096" or "gc.buffer 2048", but now they have a setting just for it :) also use the F1 console command "gc.incremental_milliseconds 1"
it will help with the rust stutter issues somewhat

hey Kryzzpy, can you do a video with the fsr 3 frame-gen mod for cyberpunk 2077 ? it works with my 3060ti and i get 100+ fps at 1440p quality dlss without ray-tracing but im cpu bottlenecked.

3060,4060,6700xt,3060ti all will run fine with this cpu.
this reminds me of how some manufacturers would put desktop Pentium 4s into laptops and I read that some of the more cheaply-made ones got so hot they cooked the backlight.
I have a Razer Blade 14 with an i7-7700HQ, 1060m, with 16gbs of DDR4 at 2400mhz with a 1TB SSD, and it's keeping up quite decently with the latest AAA games.. goes to show how far even a minor ram frequency and CPU upgrade goes for this 1060.

The 1060 is just fine, the 6700HQ is holding that thing back. I've seen laptops with 8th gen 6-core CPUs paired with a 1050Ti for some reason. Now, a 6 core Coffee Lake with a 6gb 1060 instead of a 4gb 1050Ti? That would be a lot better.

The Frametime Issue could be caused by CS2, I have an RX 5700XT and Ryzen 7 5800x, I get about 300 fps, but the game feels really unsmooth, even tho I have a 240HZ display. In Valorant and other games its buttery smooth. Newest Drivers also.

I feel like this mobile GTX 1060 wasn't performing really well throughout the whole video for some reasons, so far I have got better performance on an another machine (seems like it's because of the 7th gen CPU it had, that 6700HQ felt like the main reason behind the bottleneck so far).
It did perform well for such an old laptop though, wouldn't mind using it at all.

this is the exact spec of my desktop pc, still surviving to play latest AAA games. i just cant experience ray tracing though.

Nowadays laptops last longer as gaming machines. I had GT525m GPU in my old laptop and after 3-4 years was getting near impossible to get stable 30 fps on low settings, even on low resolution sometimes. You get a laptop nowadays and you are good for a decade!
Lower end laptop GPUs often do not survive long enough. Same with modern laptops.
@@HandleIsNewAndBad AMD did some AI trickery and it's supported for all major GPU makers. Your statement is not necessarily valid for the modern laptop.
Hey kryzzp, hope you are having a great day. You should benchmark phasmohpbia, its a greatly optimised title, and runs on terrible pcs from 2012-2017 intel hd graphics (I have HD 4000, and HD 620, and HD 520, and HD 4600 on my old old mac)
Please test this game, its a great title to play, on good or bad specs.

I have a desktop mini pc that uses this 1050 even though it’s the laptop version and surprisingly I can run all my AAA games easily on highest setting no problem. I believe I have 32g ram and 1Tb memory. I’m no computer nerd yet just getting into all of it

The problem is the cpu that trotle down.
I use a msi with a q7700 and gtx1060 6Gb.
And in the hidden bios is have set the cou clock lower and the cpu volt.
I do loose some max power on the cpu.
But the cpu stay cooler and have more middel performance what the game make more smooth.
Cpu just dip a lot thanks to overpower and heat of the turbo boost function.
Better a slower all 4 cores than the cpu try to boost 1 and 2 core to the max
I have to wonder if the frequent stuttering was caused not by a CPU bottleneck but by insufficient RAM speeds. I remember the difference between DDR4-2133 and DDR4-3200. Slow RAM will make it seem like there's a CPU bottleneck even when there isn't one.

It would probably perform between a laptop 1650 and 1660. Im judging it based on the fact I have the 2060 laptop gpu which scales around the 1660ti laptop version so the 2050 might not be too far behind
I just bought a 7 year old laptop that has an i7-7700hq, 1060 4gb 75w, 16gb 2133mhz ddr4, 256gb ssd, 1tb hdd, rgb keys for 180$, the only downside is the battery which is dead (lasts only one hour) and the spacebar that is half cracked but works eitherway. I can't really complain because most of the new laptops don't come even near with this price when it comes to the specs 👍👍👍👍

I have an HP Victus gaming laptop with a Ryzen 7 6800H. It only goes up to 25W when gaming, and it bottlenecks my GPU. I have searched online and there is no mention of this. Is this normal? If not, how do I fix this?
On Intel the solution is to use throttlestop, on AMD you might be able to adjust it in Ryzen master, but I don't know
