In this video, we continue out search for a shiny Galarian Zigzagoon using the ACTUAL encounter method from Sword and Shield the way it was intended to be use and we end up failing the shiny zigzagoon and also reclaiming it in the same video! Thanks so much! after spending an unreasonable amount of time hunting with basic methods I finally decided to look up alternatives.
I tried this and got my shiny in about 100 brilliant encounters!

My wife caught me one of these in Pokémon Go last night! I think this might be one of my favorite shinys now

Last year in the Crown Tundra on Pokemon Sword, I had just obtained a shiny Bronzong and was looking for a shiny Claydol when a brilliant Absol appeared on the field and when I encountered him, he was shiny too. This happened during a blizzard. I didn't have a Pokemon with Taunt so, I used a Masterball and caught him. When I looked at his info, he had the Blizzard mark. I encountered him at 9 encounters! So I named him Awesomesauce! I wasn't even hunting for a shiny Absol, however, later that day, I did encounter and catch a shiny Claydol which I named Moongazer.
That’s crazy! I really struggled trying to get a blizzard marked shiny in SV and it’s even harder to find in SWSH! Plus absol is such a cool Pokémon with a great shiny too!

Just to like know since I’m a little confused, if you already have battled 500 in the Pokédex do you only encounter brilliants or do you need to battle 100 and then encounter brilliants? I have only found out about the brilliant method
If you have 500 KOed in your Dex, you don’t need to KO anymore. At 500 KOs for a certain Pokémon, that Pokémon will always have the highest brilliant encounter rate along with the highest shiny rate for the brilliants!

Good luck! 300 encounters is not at odds yet so I wouldn’t get discouraged yet. Just keep at it and you’ll get it!

I did the 500 bottles with foongus and now I can't even find any brilliant I think it's cuz I changed the time and I'm suffering from a penalty within the game.
Sometimes it can just be bad luck and low spawn rates. It’s recommended to go for a Pokémon that has a high spawn rate in an area where spawns are abundant. And changing your date doesn’t affect them
currently doing a slowpoke from galar hunt, pretty easy cuz theres a lot on a beach, 86 encounters and counting still

Do you need shiny charm to do this method?
You never need the shiny charm to do any shiny hunting method. But having it does further increase your odds
I been at this shiny for two days probably 650ko and 900 encounter with shiny charm same location.
You don’t need to KO more than 500. The shiny rate doesn’t increase any further from that. Also sometimes you can just get unlucky. I recently did this method and it took me like 1200 brilliants to find the shiny
If I had one recommendation it is that people don't only encounter brilliant spawns. I've been doing quite a few RE hunts recently and I've only found one shiny from brilliant spawns but I've gotten around 10-15 shinies from regular spawns.
If you go for normal spawns then there’s virtually no point to KOing 500 for the brilliant method. You’re very unlikely to get one with how low their spawn rate is compared to normal spawns that’s you’ll just be wasting your time doing the method. If you plan to do the KOs and go for the method then only encounter brilliants
I'm literally only finding one or two brilliant every hour so this is not worth it I rather just soft reset
I didn’t say you had to do this Method. I just explained how it works and did it myself
If you only find one or two brilliants every hour then you did something wrong, I get a brilliants every one to two minutes

If you didn’t KO at least 100 you’re not going to get as many brilliants. Make sure you’re respawning the pokemon as well

It is with shiny charm. Without shiny charm the odds are 1/585. With shiny charm the odds are 1/455

What's a brilliant pokemon? Generally asking I've never heard of it.
It’s a mechanic in sword and shield. A Pokémon that spawns in the overworld if it has a glowing aura to it, it’s a brilliant Pokémon. They have egg moves, a higher shiny rate, and I think they have a couple guaranteed perfect ivs
501 battled wooloo, 84 encountered, 220 hatched with masuda. HELPPPP

I did all the KOs on route 3 where they’re only level 14 😭
