I have to say, as a shiny hunter and just in general collector (whether its dex or getting different versions of a pokemon), SOS is also super fun earlygame for the fact you either get a shiny or, if you have the right species, you can get a rare pokemon you might want to use. I was trying to get a Salamence in my latest Moon run and ended up with the shiny Bagon. Win win situation, for the playthrough portion. :)

"Masuda Method, going over odds sucks"
I'm currently at twelve thousand Eggs for Dreepy. I wish I was kidding. I started the hunt in October and delayed it when Legends Arceus came out cause it was driving me mad.
I'll go back to it when I feel it again, but I have never had a more painful Pokémon experience in my life

@@jamestette2641 I actually ended up coming back to it last month of all times. I'd ended up doing away with the counter for the sake of my sanity, but since I still had whole empty boxes, I can still probably estimate how many. It definitely was under 1000 after resuming, and I ended up getting a sick and twisted joke: I got the one early into a batch, and then got a second while hatching the leftover eggs. I'm not going for a living dex, so I only needed one, so I ended up giving it to a friend.
As for my next target, no? At the very least that hunt burnt me out of shiny hunting for a while there, but I might go for one more before SV. Probably Masuda for Espurr since I've already gotten a number of my favorite Shiny already, besides Meowstic

Love the outbreak method because of how engaging hunting in them are and the prep work, especially going after aggressive Pokemon and having to sneak and dodge them. I don't care about the easy odds because the act of going through them is rewarding enough. Also hunting for shiny alphas are really fun

Legends Arceus has made things really really easy, debatably too easy. I have gotten like 4 shinies without even trying - one that wasn't even in an outbreak. That's really the only shiny hunting I've ever done, though. But recently I've been watching a lot of videos about the subject so I might try to get into it. Great video, by the way.

It might sound a bit hardcore but I would recommend trying to shiny hunt something that’s full odds! 8:40 I can SO relate to this because I went through the exact same. I really started to like Pokémon at the end of Gen 3 and my first Pokémon game was Gen 4's Pearl Version. I haven't experienced Gen 5 at all until recently when my brother randomly installed a ROM of White Version on my iPhone so I could get a taste of what all that Gen 5 hype was all about. But anyway, I skipped Gen 5 in its hayday because I already had Diamond, Pearl, HeartGold and SoulSilver, and decided to go straight to Gen 6 with X version as some sort of Vacation Special for myself when we traveled to Valdés, Spain, I think back in 2022. X Version is still my most played mainline Pokémon game to this day, and I'm really sad the 3DS AND Wii U online servers are going to be shut down in roughly a month or so.

Pokeradar in the original D/P was the only time in the series I had ever caught shiny Pokémon of my own, my first being a shiny Mareep (my prized possession of the entire series), then went on to get a shiny Smeargle, two shiny Ditto, and a shiny Growlithe.
I still would like to have a shiny Shinx, but my time with the franchise came to a close shortly after Alpha Sapphire’s release and even despite the allure of Legends and Scarlet/Violet, I have no motivation to really return to the series

Yeah that’s why I don’t like it as a shiny hunting method. There’s a few things they could’ve done to make it better but I feel like it was intended to work well with the shiny charm as you would be getting 1/1024 shiny chance doing it if the shiny charm worked properly…
Also yeah it’s a little better when you’re online so people can help collect diglett but I’ve still found out that either way you gotta be the one doing pretty much all the work anyway :/

Pokemon Arceus is really easy and actually fun for me. There are several things that can increase the chances of getting the one you want like having their dex complete and perfected raises it even more. I also loved Arceus for being the first game to let you complete the dex without trades so relatively easy to get the shiny charm.

If you want my honest opinion on it, I say it’s illegitimate and I would consider it very similar to just using a cheating device as you’re using an unintended method that makes shiny odds ridiculously high. It takes the rarity of shinies away and if you’re fine with using it then idk why you wouldn’t just use an action replay or game shark to put the shinies in your game. That is my take on rng manipulation than you for coming to my Ted Talk

there is something i do to make SOS and navi dex a little bit less boring, first of all i should say that i have the shiny charm so i don't realy know if it will realy work the same without but what i do is just choose my targets, fight them and every time the pokemon you have in battle loose all his PP go to the next target and repeat with the next pkmn in your party, variation will not make you wanna sleep and some time it's good to break the "chain" because the shinys could appear way earlier next time you hunt them, now i know it might be way to easy...but if you'r like me constantly depress and looking for a way to brighten your days or nights it kinda help

@@Spoki-cb5bg I actually do have a question about curry hunting. I have been doing a ton of research on the easiest ways to get charizard grade curry but even with gigantamix and really good berries, it still feels like you need to get nearly perfect to get charizard grade. I am thinking about double hunting curry and just going for copperajah grade because with the ingredients I use, it’s pretty much effortless to get copperajah grade.
My question is do you go for charizard or copperajah? And if you go for charizard, what ingredients do you use to make it the easiest?

    • @Spoki-cb5bg
      @Spoki-cb5bg Před 16 dny

That’s actually a great question that I couldn’t solve myself until I started to curry hunt (I sorta figured things out as I went but eventually optimized the hunt). I myself use gigantamix as the main ingredient for the curry and use 10 of “rare berries” for each curry. I had no clue how to farm gigantamix without just grinding raids in the wild area but DO NOT DO THAT!! That is a huge waste of time and has only a ~1% rate of dropping per raid. Instead, go to the crown tundra dlc and go to the slippery slope watt trader. This certain watt trader has a “daily item” that is unique and resets every day. In the assortment of items you can receive from this guy, gigantamix is one of them. By date skipping your switch ahead 1 day, you can reset his daily item, which has a chance to be gigantamix (note, you can only get the item once per reset, you can’t just get the trade and buy 999x of them. You must reset for every gigantamix you get).
As for the rare berries, there is a tree left of the “giants bed” in crown tundra that has a lot of rare berries if you shake it. You can google which berries fall into the rare category but this tree drops alot of them. There is a raid den right by the tree which you can date skip at to reset the tree and farm berries. Get 10x the amount of berries for the # of gigantamix you have.
Also, to prep for this hunt you will need a team of 6 SMALL Pokémon that are all sociable and have a very high friendship score with each other. You can look on yt for a tutorial to set this up but MAKE SURE YOUR POKÉMON ARE SMALL.PLEASE. There is a bug that if large enough Pokémon is in your camp, it can override the curry encounter and be “captured” instead of the curry Pokémon. This is a huge issue and also posses a problem of seeing if there is a spawn or not. Just please choose small Pokémon or Pokémon that float for your team. If your team does not have a high enough friendship score, curry Pokémon WILL NOT SPAWN, so please make sure you max their score out. (Also having 6 Pokémon in your party maxes the odds of encountering a curry Pokémon so make sure to have a team of 6)
As for making the curry, there are 3 stages to the minigame. The flame, stirring, and putting your heart into it (literally).
1.flame: to consistently get Charizard class curry, your flame should be at stage 4. There are 5 stages to the flame. Nothing, small flicker, decent size, large size, and engulfing size. We need size 4, you will know you’re there when the curry starts to bubble and steam is rising. The flame requires a lot of spamming to get to and is physically exhausting to do over and over. I suggest using a turbo controller for this hunt (trust me, it will make the hunt SO much easier) due to how reliable it is to get to stage 4. Also don’t worry about stage 5, it requires like 25 cps and harms your curry, I’ve never even gotten there before.
2.stir: This part is fairly simple, just rotate your spoon around at about 2-3 rotations a second and don’t be sudden with your spinning as to not splash your curry. If you splash too much it will drop your rating down to copperjah.
      3. Putting your heart into it: this one’s really easy once you’ve done it. Just press once you are about 3/4th the way down the green circle and you should hit the middle ring every time.
Now that our curry is cooked, what now? Welll, DONT LEAVE YOUR CAMP. The type of hunting we are doing is soft reset. If we weren’t doing that, we would have lesser rates and it would take up WAY too many resources. By closing your game after we use all of our gigantamix, we don’t waste any and can keep using it. If you leave your camp it will save and you will lose all of the ingredients you just used.
Spawns: The chance of encountering a curry Pokémon depend on what class curry you made. The lower ones don’t matter but by cooking copperjah it is a 20% chance and by cooking charizard class it is a 25% chance. This 5% different may not seem like a lot, but it really does accumulate over your hunt. And you never know, that 5% could mean getting a shiny or not. Also the base odds of an encounter are 1/4096. SHINY CHARM DOES NOT WORK so it is a full odds hunt. depending on where you are, you will get different curry encounters. If you are in the wild area or any place that is not a route, CURRY POKÉMON WILL NOT SPAWN. So make sure you are on a route. I personally hunt in the glimwood tangle because it has a 12% chance (the highest spawn in that area) of an authentic sinistea. Yes, authentic. While the phony ones do spawn, it is at about a 8-9% chance instead. And I think having a shiny authentic curry mark sinistea is quite the flex.
So I’ve covered the ingredients you’ll need, how to prep your team, how to cook the curry, and just some general stuff. I’ll add one thing that is just extra and not necessary. For this hunt I completed my curry dex so I would have the golden cooking utensils. By completing the dex it just gives you those and nothing else, so if you don’t want to have that flex, save your time. It only took me about 4 hours to complete mine and I think it was worth it to see those golden tools.
But anyways sorry if I kinda organized my writing a bit weird, it’s late and I’m kinda out of it rn. I love your content and would love to see you get a shiny curry Pokémon. I wish you the best on your badge quest and want you to know you are seriously one of my favorite CZcamsrs and streamers. It was a pleasure to help you out and I will always be here to help you with any more questions. Goodluck with your hunts!!!
