  • This is my favorite song from Sheila's first album "Future Eyes" back in 1981.

Wow I couldn't find this anywhere! I listened to Sheila's powerful vocals prophesying the Word to us when I was a babe in Christ

I remember a stunned auditorium of american college kids when she came out in that blouse, black leather pants and the stage smoke billowing. Opened with prayer and then rocked the house. Evangelical or otherwise, she had them all on their heels when it was done. It was a cultural awakening if not a spiritual one.

Then she went and got all respectable and traditional LOL. I love her music either way.

She was always respectable. More tradition arrived when she went 100% American and joined the 700 Club on TV.

Perfect example of the British synth sound of the early 80's. This was big in the alt-clubs post disco in the late 70's. Chris Rolinson's keyboards define the sound. Unfortunately, the US release was tampered with by Larry Norman (at the labels request) due to trepidation over it being "too radical" and thinking Larry was the only guy who could translate it for American consumption. The original master tape from Chapel Lane was not well done technically and only 1 song was transferred digitally (Burn On).

Great to see comments like these! I remember this session really well - it was a very exciting day. Sheila kept us all in copious cups of tea.....and then studio bound to produce this epic (!) vocal delivery. I wonder what Chris Rolinson is doing now???

Do you have "Totus Tuus". ?? I remember this song being too much for American Evangelicals in the early 80s. They felt Sheila Walsh was too radical!!!! Ugh..... Thanks, BRIAN
