  • Rendang is a popular dish in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. It is often served at kenduri (celebration), Hari Raya, or special ceremonies as this dish often takes a long time to prep and cook. Growing up in Malaysia, this dish is no stranger to me so I decided to make a vegan version of this flavorful dish. This Vegan Mushrooms Rendang is packed with aromatic spices and tenderized mushrooms. It goes so well with rice or Nasi Kunyit with a side of Acar (Nyonya Pickle Vegetables). Give this delicious, flavorful, and gluten-free meal a try today! 中文食谱往下滑, 谢谢收看.

    It looks really delicious but from the video I am wondering if the coconut milk broke and split into its separate parts is that meant to happen because I once broke coconut milk in a curry and it made it taste really bitter

    • @WoonHeng
      @WoonHeng  Před 2 lety

      Hi there, thanks for the question. I'm using coconut milk such as Savoy, which has 70% coconut extract. It should be thick and not those that are for beverage (which also labeled as coconut milk). Coconut milk should give the curry 'sweetness' and thickness. When coconut milk breaks apart, usually happened when the coconut milk is cold and added to the hot curry. But that won't change the taste unless the coconut milk is accidentally burnt.
