I think a big bucket of oobleck (non-newtonian fluid) would be super interesting as you have speed controls, I think at a low speed it would sink right in and displace it, but at a high speed would explode, but id love to see what actually happens

Nothing much interesting would happen. Hydrostatically, oobleck behaves just like any other fluid. Only at high speed / high frequency do you get weird behaviour, but a hydraulic press is not at all the right tool to make that happen.
BTW, "non-Newtonian fluid" is a pretty cagey description for the properties of oobleck, it's like describing wood as a "non-metallic material". The proper term is _dilatant_ fluid.

You should do an old press VS new press competition video. Give them a variety of increasingly tough things to crush so we can see the difference in power and control.

Now that you have more power, i think leveämmät toolin päät might be good, because now you can get the same pressure as the old press outputs but on a laajempi alue. So maybe try that out

Idea for your idea bucket. Compression ignition of grease / oil. We all read the no oil/grease when fitting regulators to gas bottles.
That ABB teach pendant brings back memories. I programmed & maintained those robots at a stamping plant 20 years ago.
Hopefully it worked better than the robot we had unracking parts after they got plated at the stamping/plating plant I worked at. That piece of shit couldn't handle half the parts, and barely worked on the parts it should handle, resulting in people being stuck doing it's job more often than it ran.

The huge piston was really interesting. At first it looked like it was bending like one of those steel tubes, but then it turns out it was actually cracking from the start. Reminded me of those videos where people put Gallium into aluminium parts to make them fragile, except that the forces here were just orders of magnitude higher instead.
It would be cool to have a thermal image view to watch the heat build up.

what's the power consumption while pressing the ambos?
try to pack ice into a cylinder adding more and more, ice can be compressed into different types of ice under high pressure, try to get to ice 7.
Question, is the press just a strong in the other direction? Can you use it to pull rather than crush?
You could try wood products like wooden matches, see if the crushing causes heat to light off the matches !

After watching all those spools of string and rope, it makes me wonder what a spools of various gauge wire would do. It would be interesting to see 18 gauge vs 12 gauge, or even a spool of galvanized steel fencing wire.
Need to crush similar items that broke the window in the new press.

Try press a strong material setup like a teeter totter. Press on one side and adjust and move center of mass location. Fling things like a midsize trebuchet, i think that would be pretty entertaining 😂

The piston looked to be a cast piston, might be interesting to see the difference between cast, machined billet and forged piston. One idea: have you tried crushing glass?
Use a barrier on the top and bottom of the paper to protect your piston and plate, put glue within the napkins then, hold the pressure as the glue sets? I believe you will have plywood after that... 🤔
You should crush a stack of vinyl records. But they should be really scratched and unplayable. I’d hate to see good records go to waste
