Loving the pontoon boat videos. Would love to see you finish building it. Lay some EVA foam down on the deck. Add some seating and some railing around the edge and you will have a nice boat!
It was great to see you on the ocean with that motorized sheet of plywood! lol It was still tons of fun to see it run and hell yes...a stacked shelving system in the back to organize your stuff. You have lots of room to go up on that thing and maybe even some hinge shelves that fold out off the sides while your on the water for light stuff? Theres potential and you DID catch something and you DIDN'T go accidentally swimming. Great job! :D

I would recommend two things. One you already know: rails.
The other, you may not have thought of: a hinged door between the pontoons. It could even be lexan, so you can see through it. Sealed and sturdy enough to walk on. Having one in the middle of the boat will keep you from having to lean over the side to grab water for washing or whatever.
Also, get a few metal sporks and put them on keyrings. Hang them on whatever thing you always take camping with you, you'll never be without a utensil again.

Fishing in florida, salt water, I'd recommend the tried and trusted setup of a bobber, a couple splitshots and live shrimp on a hook. Get at least 3 or 4 dozen, you'll use every one of them. Go at the crack of dawn; if the suns up before the boats in the water, you're too late.
You should install a hammock hold on the pontoon. Easier setup and better sleep!

Shark fishing in gulf of Mexico os hard at night if youre bottom fishing and using smaller baits. Catfish will slurp anything up they can. Suspend your bait in the water next time with a bobber. Ive cught some monsters on bobbers night fishing. It helps too because you can see the bobber when they make runs and you can fight the fish better.
To cold start a 2 Stroke outboard; squeeze fuel bulb till firm. Press release on the shifter so you can advance the throttle in neutral. Give her a little throttle. Push in on key while turning to start position. This chokes the motor. She should pop off pretty quick. Once it pops off, adjust throttle and release choke as needed. Bring throttle back to neutral position, so now you can advance throttle and be in gear. She shouls start up much quicker for you. Good luck

AYO, you are my favorite fisherman of all time! As a would-be boat owner, I sympathize with your every effort to get out fishing on one of your boats. After watching this entry with the Girthy Girl, I have a couple of suggestions that might at least get you further with her while getting the Itty Bitty put back together. First, get that motor overhauled! I was truly nervous with you out on the ocean and the motor being finicky. Second, increase the width of your decking by at least 3, if not 6 feet. If you're gonna be pitching a tent on that thing, please, at least get some space to work around it. I want you safe to film more videos. Sometimes, you just take too many chances. Love Ya Man! Keep 'em coming.

oh c'mon now, you can't do an overnight trip without Davey...
Maybe add some non-skid stuff to the floor for everyone's safety. All sorts of options, even stick-on bathtub ones with fishy themes like starfish and turtles. Fix a plastic bin up with your camping gear and stock it long before you go. Tape a list to the side or top as to what should be inside. What part of Florida were you in, besides the sharkless area? I loved the video. Lot's of fun.
Advice where I bought my outboard, start it up in your yard before you go out. That's where you need to be if it doesn't start. I enjoy these videos.

I got a pro tip for you Ayo on the trolling motor. There is a screw on the bottom side of the handle that connects it to the shaft if you take that out you can spin the handle around and run it in forwards pointing the right way and not have to reach out to the front of the bow.

Late tip, if you get pricked by a sailcat and it starts stinging, get the slime from it's belly and rub it on the wound, it'll ease the pain. Don't ask how it works, an old timer I was fishing next too showed me this trick one night fishing at Cape Canaveral after I got finned in the palm of my hand.

The 50 cal sound is most likely a AC 130 Spector gun ship.
I have lived near a base, or downrange for 20 years so it normal to me.
The AC 130 has a 105 and 30 mm guns. The impact range is just north of Navarre. You can often see them flying a pattern over that area.
That area is the Santa Rosa sound, not a bay .
It's really shallow there for miles in each direction.
Most people shark fish closer to the passes in Destin or Pensacola, or Gulf side. I fish that area often and have never seen a decent sized shark. Caught plenty of Sheepshead, Redfish and Specks thou . People catch Mangrove snapper on the bridge.
I never fish the pier, too many people for my taste .
I surf fish for Pompano spring and fall.

One last commentâŠ.not sure how familiar you are with Evinrude: Johnson outboards. Yours no doubt carburetors. If You donât have a push in too chock/keyed control controls your lost. Gotta have right controls
I have a 97 Johnson 150hp flawless starts every time in 10 degree To 110 degree weather. If you donât have the correct push key to chock Johnson:Evinrude start system your gonna struggle. Owned mine form eight years in all weather conditions and it fires all the time.
Another suggestion if you decide to keep running is use StarTron fuel addictive. Been using since day one and have never touched carbs or fuel system. Motor fires every time.
