Nothing fights like a small mouth so i can imagine something in between. My pb largemouth was the worst lay of my life. She came up to the top 40 feet away and i pulled her across the top water. 7.6lb and Nothing to be proud of but my 3.1 lb smallmouth was in 3ft creek and fought like it wanted to kill me. Smalley rule and i feel shoal are similar

forget trying a bigger muffler on the generator. you'll only lower it by 1-2 decibels and totally mess up its efficiency and power output. Just build a baffle box with 6-8 solar powered fans. staple that triangle soft foam panels they use in sound studios on the inside.. leave one wall in the front missing and use metal flex pipe to vent the exhaust out the box. It's the best way. foam panels on the bottom are good to. make sure most of the fans are blowing inward with just one on top blowing out.

Maybe with the cheap motor you could use power drill batteries and wire them up, I know that ego has a 52v battery system which should probably be fine on the motor
