When I watch hockey with no sound it’s Bobs voice that’s doing the play by play in my head.
I've had migraines I couldn't get out of bed with let alone play hockey. I'm talking about pain beyond imagine, crazy eye sensitivity and throwing up on and off. I'm good with Nylander.
I have had days when I would not allow myself to drive a car, but nobody said..."C'mon do it for the team!"
I know someone who has debilitating migraines ..bed ridden ..for days and then it lifts . People who don’t know don’t know.
I get migraines, I've been in bed with one for five days now. When you get a migraine you can't do anything, you're basically disabled until it past, i've had ones that last for 2 weeks at a time. Put it this way, if someone was at my door with a million dollars cheque, and all i have to do is get up sign it, it would be hard to even do that. I feel for you Willy.
But willy played all 82. Migraines usually dont suddenly appear. Usually its something youve dealt with all your life. Maybe caused by a concussion this time?
@@Tribuneoftheplebs True, but he could've just started getting them, maybe he had a concussion, remember he got crushed in Tampa the 2nd last game of the season, maybe he got a concussion then. They're being secretive about his condition, so who knows.
Agree. Unless you've had debilitating migraines it would be hard to understand just how bad they can be. My issues turned out to be caused by a food sensitivity. Migraine free now 5 yrs. There was once while in hospital emerg, there was this female screaming like nothing I've ever heard, gave me chills. Nurse came by and just said "Migraines"

This guy (Nylander) could literally have migraines from something serious like a tumor and you have guys like Sam being complete idiots out here telling him to play hockey. If Nylander woke up after game 82 with debilitating migraines to the point where the medical staff was concerned and testing him for other things then that is enough for him to not have to answer the questions of this joke of a media corps.
The guy was injured, I don't care if he was in Yorkville yesterday. Grow up Sam. You're blaming a guy for missing games who hasn't missed a game to injury in 6~ years. He's clearly not doing this for fun and you clearly know nothing about the scale of how bad migraines can be.

I have suffered migrains for years I lose vision if I try to read every other word I can't see. and I throw up constantly I stand up and thebpain is unbearable there is no way in hell you can play hockey or anything else with one
@@ianhowells9550 yes, migraines are a neurological disorder/ disease. It’s 2024 guys, and Sam specifically, read up on migraines! Why do people understand epilepsy and other neurological disorders and symptoms but not migraines and cluster headaches that are just disabling at the times you have them?!…
@@ianhowells9550 This happened to one of my cousins in their 20s where he had recurring migraines for a period of two years. Whenever he had an episode he was completely out of commission for days.
Thankfully for him the bouts slowed down to where it happens only once every year or two now but when it happens you aren't seeing the guy at work.
That whole conversation was gross. Should be embarrassed.
Bourne and McKee don’t know wtf they’re talking about with regard to neurological dysfunction. As strange as it is to say this: Kyper is actually the intelligent one on this topic. Migraines, concussions, and cervical whiplash are all different insults to the brain and spine… and if the medical staff isn’t sure which occurred, then sending Nylander back into an NHL game could literally be life-altering for him.
Bottom line Nylander is suffering from something or he would be playing, it doesn't matter what the problem might be.

I like Sam, he's a funny guy who kinda plays into the "regular fan" schtick a little bit, you don't have to take everything he says 100% seriously, like even in those instances where he's probably more serious than not. He also says he doesn't believe in jet lags lol. But yeah, him and Doug MacLean makes the show more entertaining and loose, it would be a bit of a chore watching 2 hours of just Justin Bourne.

There's headaches and then theres migraines .. if its migraine like i get myself though hes not out doing interviews because when i get a bad ine im in bed for the duration. So if its legit migrane issues then i totally get it
I get migraines, there's is no way in hell Willy could practice with one, so it's weird he's practicing, I have one for 5 days this week, sometimes i get them for 2 weeks straight, and there's nothing you can do, you're basically disabled. I've been indoors for five days now, can't even go outside. Good luck Willy.
Migraines are no joke. I've lost a significant amount of my life time-wise to headaches and migraines. So many missed nights and days. If you've never had one, you don't understand. And when you'd rather not exist than feel the pain of migraines, it eats at your mental health, too.

1. Gentleman - its obvious that based on Willys clips the decision is not up to Willy. He is saying hes ready, he wants to play. It's clear its not his choice. Doctors?
2. Do we not remember Crosby's head injuries? Do we not remember how many months he missed for a hit? 1.5 seasons? Precautions guys.
3. This presents legal risk to MLSE if they put him in and he gets injured. Huge.
4. They dont know yet whats wrong with him - and thus, if they call it something, and they're wrong down the road, it presents more risk. That's why they haven't said anything.
Sammy and Bourne sound ignorant - do we not think MLSE would leverage every possible opportunity to use their asset if they could?!
I have had migraines my whole life, and I have just recently developed debilitating visual symptoms to the point where I can’t stand up. It feels like a constant state of falling. I’m a die hard leafs fan, but I could never take a walk-let alone play an NHL playoff game-while that is happening
I have no experience with migraines, but I can tell you a hip pointer or a tailbone injury is very very painful, but you can walk around like normal as long as someone/thing doesn't touch that spot, so I don't see anyone playing at any pace, because of the potential pain.

When I saw that hit Willy took, I thought this guy doesn't get rocked like that, is he going to be able to shake that off? So if I am going to speculate that is where it starts for me. I am not fond of a player who does not engage physically, goals or not, it takes more than a pile of goals to be Champion. As a coach I encouraged body contact at practice, because that is how your body becomes conditioned to taking contact. I'd like to see that hit replayed. It was a head snapper and I think he fell on his tailbone. But he is not playing so it must be something.
Goalie tandem makes sense if you have 2 good enough goalies. DOesnt give the opposition a good chance to figure them out.
Ironically Sam's voice gives me migraines so I have to turn off episodes whenever he does the 'whiney' voice. I lasted 17 min today but it was a struggle, wouldn't have been able to finish 3 periods.

The symptom is migraines. The cause isn’t necessarily known. Playing through a brain related symptom isn’t the same as other.
You can't play an NHL hockey game with a serious migraine but you couldn't give an interview either. source: i get migraines. I'm a fairly mild case too. People who get them constantly are legit disabled - they have a hard time doing normal day to day stuff

That Sammy guy shows such ignorance about migraines. They are episodes that can last for minutes to hours and are crippling. Once it passes of course he can play, go for ice cream or whatever. To ask if Crosby or MacKinnon would play if they had a headache is such a hypothetical. Crosby missed lots of time with concussion symptoms and any player floored with migraines wouldn't play either.

The body is amazing thing and at times we think were invincible. Until a real accident happens. Than you realize how lucky we are to live in today medical practice. It's easy for someone, who really hasn't been hurt. To say it's nothing. He doesn't have to admit anything until there eliminated. Has to say something to ease the spoiled brat. Why? Tell me.. lol Furthermore a migraine can get so bad that you can throw up and cause nausea and other disorders. I know cause I suffer from spinal fusion in my neck made worse by an accident. Not fun at all!
