I think sometimes people don’t have a choice, like when your step family is bullying you, or situations you need to run away from home. In this case, she was living with her aunts and said her living situation is pretty bad.

I don’t see it that way! A lot of people move in before marriage and it turns out successful! Where as others wait till marriage and can’t cohabitate together. Different strokes for different folks! I do believe living with your significant other plus his parents is a NO! Don’t ever do it

Why would you want to move in with your boyfriend's mother? That's like being at home with your mother. Now you got a whole new set of rules to go by. And you living under someone elses roof. Women don't always get along under each other. I wouldn't do it. Stay at home until you can get your own place.
It's better to live with other ppl than so called family mostly.

In my situation it was better than where I moved out from but it was still bad. I'd rather be treated bad by ppl who don't care about me anyway than the ppl who r family and suppose to be helipng u out but they're the ones putting u down

She don't know how that woman is going to treat her living under her roof. It's best that they get their own place. It's nothing like living on your own.

Another thing we agree on they should get their own place or at least rent a room somewhere else. I think they have financial problems. She maybe illegal here and can't work legally. I'm not judging but I've been there. Maybe he's not working that's y he lives with his mom. Just my guess. I don't see them being able to afford rent.

Like you said it could be a deeper reason like immigration issues and unemployment. In my opinion I just don't think this is a reasonable thing to do. Unless she is homeless. When I was a teenager, this was my story. My mother's boyfriend didn't want me around so I no longer felt wanted by both of them. This young girl's situation must be really bad because no girl wants this for herself.

I am sure you are. My comment was based on the decisions and questions from the girl in the audience. If that girl is you, just be careful. You are young, very pretty, and have a whole lot of life ahead of you.
Work and focus on being the best that you can be so you won’t ever become a hostage to a possible abusive man in the future and to an employer. I am giving this advice based on my unfortunate experiences due to my naïveté (husband was the first man in my life that I was physical with) and wrong choices of men after my divorce. Work in being self sufficient and being financially independent. That would give you the power to chose who to give your time, body and emotions to. Good luck and God bless!

I know somegirls will say, they must get get his own place and have their own privacy, but its how things are. she was living with her aunt,...perhaps that suggests there already was an issue with her living with her Mum for many different reasons
Maybe her mam didn't have space. My nana only had one bedroom and not much space living in a bungalow as we call it in the uk. Couldn't have moved in if my parents marriage broke down.

My mom would never! I never understood parents who allow their children’s bf/gf to live with them or sleep over. Your bf/gf needs to get their OWN place then move you in or have you sleep over.... to me it’s disrespectful. As a woman I wouldn’t even feel comfortable doing that. I have adult gf’s over 27 who sleep over their adult boyfriends parents house, and they think they’re winning. I tell them all the time you look dumb asf. They damn near 30, and you running to go stay with him at his momma house? NO shade to anyone who lives with their parents. Not everyone has it like that, but if you don’t have your own place theres no reason your bf/gf are living there or sleeping over. Do better! 😑
Was in a VERY similar situation when I was her age...Honestly she should just make peace with her biological mom not accepting her for whatever reason. Say your peace to your mom and aggressively make the lifestyle you want for yourself. Moving in with a boyfriend who is trying to get some conveniently located p***y won't fix her issues. And kissing his mom a$$ to avoid going on your own won't make things easier for anyone. (I just mean don't move in with him. Steve actually kind of buttercupped that answer. In truth, if his mother has her own residence, she eventually expects her grown up son to get the same. Parents love their kids, but we also want that our kids to leave the nest one day. But if they have to stay or fly back, we don't expect them to bring another adult bird who has no aspiration for getting their own nest with them.
