Remember when back in the day we were wondering if the in game Mocchis had some sort of luck bonus because in turnaments the enemy mocchies seemed to perform "well"? Brings back memories
Every enemy Mocchi has bizarrely high stats for the rank it's in and this really helped with the whole "luck" thing. Even Most compared to Poritoka is night and day. It also leads me to believe that the devs knew Mocchi's techs were kind of ass bc they cranked the hell out of its stats to compensate.

MR2 Mocchi is that Noob-Trap character in a fighting game who seems great at launch, but immediately tanks in rankings once people know what they're doing.

Generated a mochi with a pair of pants (Mocchini.) Oddly enough, this happened by entering in Tecmo into the artist section, then choosing Tecmo's Deception: an invitation to darkness when you first start the game. Now, the thing here is that you're supposed to get a Unique monster named Lilim, a Pixie recolor that is a reference to Lilim in that game, but in the 1 and 2 DX port, instead you get Mocchini, except instead of getting Grit and Fight, you get Power and Grit, and 440 weeks lifespan. This bastard has made it to S rank, is due for his first Elimination Fight soon, and we haven't even gotten the "Maybe you should think about retiring" notification yet. Fuck balls, this dude is good... ON CASUAL, I should add.
absolutely necroposting here but mocchini is god in dx. I managed to accidentially generate one that started with one of the press moves and grit with like close to 200 in every stat and this thing has made me like 20,000 bucks and isn't even past C rank

I never managed to beat the game with a Mochi as a starter, because of that I had the false impression that all the market monsters sucks, until I found my champion Suezo.
He have too many techs to learn and be a jack of all trades in monster rancher isn't a good thing, unless if you're a Joker.

Hey, Mocchi wasn't the only wannabe Pokemon on the anime. Golem constantly says his name too. Super weird that it's pretty much just them though.

Funny thing is aren't pure golems average intelligence gains in mr2? If i remember correctly on a 1 to 5 scale golems gains are 3 5 3 1 1 5. Guess the anime golem never hit the library
Late response, but no, Golem did say his name outside from "I speak in 3rd person". Golem frequently randomly says "golem..." or "gol..." in a similar way to how mocchi always say's "chi". It's pretty annoying.

Mochi is has good general monster stats, the problem is his tech trees are horrible, most are tech chains linked two or even three times thus you have to constantly battle and spam the tech in order for its next tier version to be unlocked. Can you please double check as I dont remember if tech chains can be inherited and carry over in the 2nd generation monster

Got a Jell + Mochi before. His in Power Build lol. His techs are frustrating lol coz of the Hit Rate lol. He reached S but did not won lol. My first to win S is Tiger + Hare.

poor mocchi lol. I understand why they changed mascot from suezo to mocchi coz when I was a kid, I was so creeped out by how Suezo looked like, not sure but it was either creepy or annoying for me. It could be that tecmo wants it to be more appealing to kids lol but it could be another reason I dont know lol. Nice to watch ur vids while working or playing another game

I love your MR2 content. Please produce more. Please get around to all the monsters. Your editing style reminds me of Scamboli Reviews. If you could work on general content like "how to keep your monsters from dying" I'd like those better instead of monster specific. But it's your channel you do what you want.

I think the joke is like when you’re applying for citizenship someplace, you can give yourself a (new) name - so “Citizen” in a situation like that would be like naming a newborn boy “Boy” or newborn girl “Girl”, et cetera, basically like a “bland name”.

Mocchi have a great statgain and terrible techs, too bad statgain mean jack in this game since any competent breeder can easily tailor their monster stats. I still love Mocchi tho, enter hall of fame with lick as signature tech
I've been trying to beat the game with Golem and Mocchi absolutely destroys me in Tournaments, lol. If I don't KO him with one hit I just lose to withering. Absolutely hate this lil pink blob.

Every monsters are great if people know the "cheat" tricks to 1 or 2 hit KO any opponents, even those with 1 rank higher than your monster. I even 1 hit opponent's S rank golem with my B rank pixie with around 500 int while the opponent's golem has 900 something def. No cheat codes, hacking or tampering with the program, just 1 neat trick

i really like monster rancher franchise, bu i always hated the techs. to me, the game really lacks a better way to make bad monsters good, pokemon "fixed it" by having tms and hms, and i feel like monster rancher needed something of that sort as well.
