Shavers won this fight by a country mile. Unfortunately the beating he inflicted resulted in Ali losing his power of speech and his fabulous reflexes. The final result can be seen in Ali's last fight against Larry Holmes.
You still can't beat Ali because he had lost his reflexes by this Shavers fight & was not even in top form since he was bored with training, because he can still take those powerful shots and fought back, he is so resourceful ^ that made Ali the GOAT
Ali as he is in trouble in the second round, shows that he is not in the peak of his condition. He seems lazy, not trained, not taking that fight against the hardest puncher of the world seriously enough. By this time in his career, Ali knew he could clown five rounds and come out ahead 3 to 2 on the scorecards while resting at the same time. This was the Ali I saw growing up.
