I lived there in the early 90s when they were building that tunnel and from our end in West Slope they were using the blast method and then from the city side they were using the tunnel borer. Our house would shake. They said that it wasn't going to shake but it turned out that they ended up using double the amount of explosive that they said they were going to. The construction company was denying it. It was like having an earthquake every few hours the house would shake with them blasting it. But the result was wonderful. I have to admit it.
