Despite such a disaster in Adani group, Modi and the institutions under his control i.e. SEBI, RBI, ED, IT, continue to defend Adani. That is the tragedy of India. Had it been any other democracy, instead of treating the fraud allegations as an attack on India, they would investigate and try to prevent the loss to investors and other stake holders. This is Gujrat Model economy racing towards five trillion dollar economy. The base was set by Dr Manmohan Singh and PM Narasimha Rao luckily. The trouble lies with Modi and not Adani who is being inspired to boost the Indian economy to be a world power in the twinkling of an eye. Citizens of India should realise that the present leadership is the root cause of the disaster lying ahead. There is no shortcut to progress. No country in the world has ever become an economic power through stock market investment.
If India has dreams of attracting continued international investments, SEBI has to do its job and bring on the criminal charges. What a shame that a small firm in NY can figure this out and SEBI who is tasked with protecting shareholders and had all the docs and disclosures with them did not. When Adani CFO took refuge in nationalism, everyone knew the game was up and they have proved themselves guilty as charged. There are troubling questions on what role the central govt played in shielding and promoting this.

Great episode but some points missed-
1. Adani bonds in foreign markets are crushed by 30-40%. This week Govt of India announced 30000 crores package to rescue distressed bonds. This will be ready in 3 months. This is 30000 crores which could have been used for public benefit, but instead will be used to shore up Adani bonds.
2. Yesterday Govt of Gujarat announced 90000 sq mt land gifted to Adani obviously at dirt cheap rates.
3. Supreme Court appointed committee will not hold specific individuals responsible for anything, but just do some investigation & make recommendations to protect retail investors. These are their own words. So Adani has 0 threat from SC.
4. SEBI has apparently started some investigation. Everyone knows if Adani will be found guilty of financial crimes or not.

Don’t know anything about investment. But had an inkling that something like this was going to happen!
You never know, govt could have bailed out and some bypassing public funds to Adani for some highly inflated project bid.
So Adani is not beyond saving yet. Hopefully the right people make sure they push Adani beyond the point of no return. I switched from Adani products since the farmer's protests happened. A lot of grocery apps still seeing manipulation as products of oil from other brands are not stocked as much as adani products are. There needs to be a regulator and grievance cell to address these issues.

I used to come across many retail investor friends who came with big claims a year ago for Adani..why he is great, how he will rule the world and why our PM is impressed with his work.
Then I met this IIM Ahmedabad professor, who said even if I have a notional potential profit of 3000% (remember we were speaking in 2019), I wont invest because my inner conscience won't allow me to invest in an unethical enterprise, now this was before Hindenberg but educated minds had an inkling that something is not right and they chose to do the right thing.
On the other hand, literate (pseudo educated) people I knew in my company went gung ho about their investments in Adani! The point is, we should try to do the "right things", if not for anything else, but just to feel good !

However, even if this particular subsidiary isn't in debt, its profits and other assets will be facilitated to pay the group's other debts or liabilities which they have incurred, rendering this company also to be non- profitable. It's the WHOLE GROUP that is affected, not just in the perception of investors resulting from a bad PR report, but also in its operations.

As a teacher, I commend *you* for teaching your viewers to QUESTION EVERYTHING. In the ever-evolving classroom of the 21st century, I believe it is imperative that I, as an educator too, learn to look beyond the textbook as a teaching-learning resource. Your videos teach me to think critically and divergently for myself and then, try and pass this on to my learners.
