The issue I have with this Blade project is that you can tell they rushed themselves to announce it and I guess it's because they couldn't believe they had just managed to convince a two-times Oscar winner actor to enlist the MCU. As much as I think he will be an amazing Blade, I'm not too excited about the project in general, When they announced it it felt out of place inside the MCU (it later made more sense with Werewolf by Night being made), and now with all the BTS "drama" around it I have zero faith.... Going back to Fantastic Four, I heard that their idea is to introduce Reed and Sue's children already, so I could see Fantastic Four still working as a franchise even if Reed sacrifices himself at the end of the first movie (not that I want that to happen thoudh).

I've always seen Mr Fantastic as a 40+ year old, with a much younger wife. 30 years ago I remember watching Predator 2 and upon seeing Kent McCord playing Captain Pilgrim, thinking "Wow, he'd make a great Mr Fantastic!". Shame he now too old for the role, but someone like him would be ideal. Mr Fantastic needs to be someone with gravitas, not humour.

You made my day when you recognized Ioan Gruffudd as THE casting choice for Reed Richards. I completely agree, he was one of the best things those movies had. All in all the first movie was kinda faithful to who the FF are. The second one did a bad job with the Silver Surfer and Galactus. But regarding the cast of the FF, they were all pretty consistent but if I had to rank them, first Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic, then Chris Evans as the Human Torch and in third place tied Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman and Michael Chiklis as The Thing. The cast was good IMO but the story and all could have been better. The first film ended up a little underrated. Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom wasn't bad also.
Pedro & Ioan Gruffudd are only ONE year apart in age, not really impossible to have brought him back to do the new FF movie. They didn't really cast a Reed that can necessarily fit for the next 10-15 years like Hugh (35 for X-men), RDJ (43 for Iron Man) were a bit younger for their 1st turn in the roles. But there is better choices, its like they had him contracted for Mando so why look further type mentality or something.
The Fantastic Four is literally a Disney/Marvel nightmare to cast because like it or not they have to back pedal and put four lily white (and two of them blonde) actors and actresses in their iconic rolls or else risk the wrath of the fan base and the results of the previous FF movie. That would be four more white people than the total amount in the previous Marvel movie (The Marvels). It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Pedro Pascal would be better utilized as an FF villain. I could totally see him in a large metallic helmet as the Reed Richards wanna be "the Wizard" from the Frightful Four.
Disney is trapped in a vicious cycle, choosing actors who are well paid but not suitable for the roles, which will not win the hearts of fans and will also cause a budget crisis. What many outstanding unknown actors lack is opportunity rather than ability.
Suggestion: Disney should hire you as their casting director. Might not hurt to hire your video editor, too. She's got a good sense of pacing. Disney needs to shake things up. They've trusted the wrong people.

It's called acting. Pedro is a very good actor. A haircut and a shave, and I could see him as Mr. Fantastic. I'll at least wait for a trailer before I make a judgment. People love being angry too much. That being said, he doesn't need to be in everything.

Because that's where we're shooting for the multiverse versions and in the comics. We need to focus on just as much as Mr.Fantastic is the villain to play Doctor doom. I LOVED those Fantastic Four Movies from 2005 and 2007. Yes the films were not great but I can still sit down and watch them because their chemistry was awesome... And I grew up with those films lol.

Pedro & Ioan Gruffudd are only ONE year apart in age, not really impossible to have brought him back to do the new FF movie. They didn't really cast a Reed that can necessarily fit for the next 10-15 years like Hugh (35 for X-men), RDJ (43 for Iron Man) were a bit younger for their 1st turn in the roles. But there is better choices, its like they had him contracted for Mando so why look further type mentality or something.

I always thought they should do fantastic four as an adventure/explorer movie instead of a traditional superhero film.
The Fantastic Four is literally a Disney/Marvel nightmare to cast because like it or not they have to back pedal and put four lily white (and two of them blonde) actors and actresses in their iconic rolls or else risk the wrath of the fan base and the results of the previous FF movie. That would be four more white people than the total amount in the previous Marvel movie (The Marvels). It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Disney is trapped in a vicious cycle, choosing actors who are well paid but not suitable for the roles, which will not win the hearts of fans and will also cause a budget crisis. What many outstanding unknown actors lack is opportunity rather than ability.

110% agree with you for Ioan Gruffudd was an spot on casting for Mr Fantastic and I absolutely loved him in that roll. On the other hand, Miles Teller was a horrible choice for the same.
Too bad the script was weak plus the other characters kinda sucked too.
It's called acting. Pedro is a very good actor. A haircut and a shave, and I could see him as Mr. Fantastic. I'll at least wait for a trailer before I make a judgment. People love being angry too much. That being said, he doesn't need to be in everything.

I like Pedro and naturally he is an outstanding actor and he has good features but I agree: not a good fit for Mister Fantastic! But I also believe in giving him a chance. He may surprise us all fans of the original FF movie...Hopefully they will keep the movie close to the comics of the 60s, 70s and 80s - A John Byrne era FF would be great! AGL

Since Kane isn't the main villain in the movie anymore? For the upcoming Avengers? 6 fact is we need to focus on Reed Richards. Because that's where we're shooting for the multiverse versions and in the comics. We need to focus on just as much as Mr.Fantastic is the villain to play Doctor doom. Because doctor doom is got the spite spotlight. And it's the head villain in the movie.
Marvel should respect the fan cast.

I LOVED those Fantastic Four Movies from 2005 and 2007. Yes the films were not great but I can still sit down and watch them because their chemistry was awesome... And I grew up with those films lol.
If you were going to be the Invisible Woman, I would applaud the casting.
What I find funny is that Pedro was considered to be too...chubby to play the Mandolorian, so had to get a fit body double to play him...but he's the best choice to play Reed "Stretcho" Richards? 😅😅😅😅😅

I like Pedro Pascal but I really wish they'd cast more comic accurate characters. Its just immersive having the character look like their comic book character. Tho if they are going to do that anyways the actor is at least likeable.

Agreed... The "race swap" strategy of Leftist Hollywood detracts from the characters and ruins the integrity of a franchise... So, you can't count on the fan base of the original storyline to embrace such a dramatic change of their beloved icons... There must be some retention of identity to produce a film the fans are already familiar with...
Fans love the defining characteristics that make a role seem human and recognizable... To strip away that familiarity, that identity, is to undermine the character...
And that is the base of Leftist doctrine, to assault identity and sabotage any social standards...
