From what I remember, Ironman and Captain America were also "B" list superheroes. It was the stories that drew us in and made us care about them. That seems to be what the problem is with Marvel now. They aren't writing the stories that make anyone want to watch what they put out. People say its hero fatigue but if you watch the new season of Loki you can see that maybe if Marvel concentrated more on telling a good story and less about making something for the "modern audience" then they could right this ship.

In my opinion I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring the original Avengers cast back, because not only is it a desperate move to do, but me personally bring back the original cast feels like a dangling keychain movement to me (were if a movie series or show is going wrong, they cast the original stars in hoping they would distract the audience from the movie or shows flaw).
such as Rise of the Skywalker brought back Palpatine, The Flash brought back Michael Keaton as Batman, etc.
I’m not saying that I don’t like those stars and characters, but as I stated not only is it desperate but also lazy to me in my opinion

Some good points Jay but the big elephant in the room is the "girl boss" element, replacing male characters with women characters. Case in point Loki series, Hawkeye series, She -Hulk series and it was rumored 3 women were taking over the beginning of the story while Blade was going to be the fourth lead in his own movie. Kevin Feige even said Captain Marvel was the most powerful character in the MCU and she'll be front and center until nobody liked the actress and they downsized her. They have no plan, they have lousy writers, directors that aren't right for the project (The Eternals), spending money like there's no tomorrow. That's just a couple of reasons why they're losing tons of money.

But she legit is one of the strongest characters in the comics even stronger than the Hulk and Thor. But they made her a loner and disconnected from everyone and everything which was a mistake. In Avengers EMH, as Ms Marvel she joined the avengers right after she was introduced after they took down a common enemy and someone from her territory. Captain Marvel could've been a dope character whoever playing her withstanding but they've been badly written. @@JudoMMAster

    • @jaycodez574
      @jaycodez574 Před 9 měsíci +2

I think Hawkeye was kind of justified. I would've have minded having Kate Bishop take over as the new Hawkeye. Dude was rocking a hearing aid now, now a family man enjoying retirement. I could understand that. She-Hulk, she does play a pretty decent role in the Kang Dynasty comics but she didn't deserve her own show at least not yet.
Captain marvel/Ms Marvel (Carol Danvers) is the strongest Avenger and one of the strongest characters in the comics, stronger than the Hulk and Thor to some extent but they introduced her too late for people to actually care about her. They should've introduced her earlier like they introduced MCU Spider-Man. He got introduced first before his solo film. They could've introduced her in a Guardians 2 post credit scene leading into her first film where she works with the Guardians. In Avengers EMH, I liked how they introduced Ms Marvel and did it right.
Marvel is forcing these characters onto the fans by giving them their own shows instead allowing the fans dictate their popularity and whether it deserves their own show. I like how Luke Cage was introduced in Jessica Jones before him getting his own show the next year knowing that they're romantically linked in the comics and marvel lore. Netflix MCU was building towards a "Defenders Universe" and that worked for them but it also had a lot of potential had it stayed put.
Heroes for Hire and Daughters of the Dragon could've been a thing in the future.
But introducing CM too late, bad storytelling and directors and ridiculous budgets for movies not starring big name actors like a RDJ, Chris Evans, or SJ. Those are recipes for disaster.

Lets be honest about the success of MCU movies since the beginning...they took basically B level heroes (cap and iron man were NOT widely popular wuth the public) and made them huge. But they also did it relying on decades of excellent story material that is all pre 2000. Some of the material was massively changed, such as the infinity gauntlet setup, but many of the foundations were preserved. With exceptions like civil war, it hasnt been a good last 24 years for comic books...and even civil war had some really goofy parts...marvel comics was already phoning it in then
I think many of the problems started with Captain Marvel movie, both in its marketing and presentation. She has a somewhat sad history, connected to one of Marvels real "deaths" and their first graphic novel...but this is the first of their "girl boss" characters...a character not allowed to show vulnerability and growth the way a male character can...a sort of self defeating feminism. The comic book was already a disaster, and the movie wanted to leverage a character that is actually quite terrible and unlikeable to young women. It succeeded for other reasons, and I think Marvel got the idea that people wanted more of Captain Marvel.
After Captain Marvel, the movie studio decided the old comic book material had too much age, not enough relevant social commentary...never mind that this old school social commentary was what people loved about Marvel. Disney didnt help with this. Their TV offerings were suppose to be a supplement to Marvel, and some if them had incredible quality. After Disney it became passion projects for people that were not interested in comic books at all, but Semi journalists that were invested in a culture war...dragging us all into it kicking and screaming.
Marvel movies are not about bringing different people together anymore, like the comic books use to be. Theyre not even about making money. Its about the arrogance of producers and directors that think the audience is too stupid and ignorant because they read and liked comic books from more than 20 years ago. They want you to just kike what they have, rather than be inspired by something new, or something great from the past.
That was long...hope you survived that.

It would be cathartic if all the characters from the "All new All different" era of Marvel were killed in a manner that precluded them from being resurrected in traditional comic book fashion. A major problem that the marvel movies are facing, is one of that is being faced by all of the divisions under Disney currently: the cramming of a sociopolitical narrative and agenda down the throats of fans, at the expense of at a place of decent storylines and character development.
Fans want to be entertained. Not preached at. Particularly when that preaching is done in a way that is contemptuous of, and insulting to, the fan base. This would be appear to be Disney attempting to institute a “business model” specifically designed to lose as much of the audience, as much market share, and as much money as possible, while making the shoddiest and most lackluster products possible.
If that is their intent, they are succeeding admirably. They are destroying franchises, and offending and alienating Fanbase is across all of their divisions, with remarkable efficiency.

Well, let's see what will happen this week, see Bob iger about to go against Nelson peltz in the earnings call, Nelson peltz wants Disney to make billions of dollars like back in the days before 2019, if Bob iger going to lie and tell Nelson that everything is all good with his new shows or movies, Nelson might take over and kick Bob to the curb and probably Kathleen Kennedy and Kevin Feige, we don't know yet, but the event going to happen this week at the 9th , we probably get old school marvel movies back again, fingers crossed 🤞

If Marvel did a Ultimate universe like the comics I would be fine with that. It's going to take spots away from a possible Ryan Gosling / Keanu Reeves Ghost Rider movie or new character I actually have wanted to make content out of. But people wanting a hulk movie for years we keep getting told that won't happen.

I'd rather see the Sith Empire that is Disney die instead of Marvel. Because of the MCU, I have learned there are a LOT MORE Marvel characters than just Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Daredevil, Hulk, etc.

If Marvel doesn’t get their heads together, the franchise should have ended with Endgame. Not having a cohesive plan to build momentum for the next big event killed all the energy the MCU had from the infinity saga. The MCU shows feel like filler for an anime. Hell, some of the movies even do. Bringing back old characters that have died will do nothing. They need to build for the future encounters, not bring us a nostalgia cash grab with characters that have already showed us their best. Bring the heroes you have NOW together. Start connecting plot lines. The whole hype behind the MCU was building character’s that shared the same universe.

If these three characters, Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel and Photon get beaten the crap out of them for the entire run time, I would love to watch that movie. It can easily break 5 billion dollars. Just add She Hulk cast in it, and you get a 20 billion dollars grossing movie.

I don't think it's Super Hero Fatigue but more like they are using B & C list characters, making them WOKE with poor writing. Use well known & liked characters without making them woke, Gay, Trans, Female when they weren't or change their race. If they are Female then don't make them great by dumbing down all surrounding characters. Don't make it a comedy

They should have went with scarlet witch with the villain. Wtf was it all about..with her bcoming the villain? Now she doesn't become the villain?
Then scarlet witch could have been battled by jean grey (which they also did a lot of her to become that what she has in the become in the comics).
Like wtf was it all about? I was hoping for them to go Wanda vs Jean. Nope. Just create a useless chaos and everyone sees it go down even more.

I think the shared universe model may now be backfiring. Watching a Marvel movie doesn't just feel like deciding to watch one movie, it feels like you have to make a commitment to watching all of them to follow the overarching story. Now it's an even bigger commitment because of all the Disney+ shows. Endgame was the conclusion to the overarching story so a lot of people stuck with it through that, but now they have to start over with a new overarching story that could be 20 movies + 20 tv shows over the course of a decade. Most people seem satisfied with the conclusion that Endgame provided, but it seems they're also ready to move on, and Endgame was a good stopping point.
I think there is some superhero fatigue, but I also there has been a vibe shift. With all the stuff that has gone in the world the past several years, people's priorities and what they want from art and movies has changed. The Marvel movies were mostly lighthearted escapism, which isn't hitting people the same way it used to. The success of a movie like Oppenheimer is telling, because it's the opposite of lighthearted escapism and was one of the year's most talked about movies.

The Avengers actors might come back for a big paycheck but the actors would be wiser to let their legacy stand. Indiana Jones should have ended with The Last Crusade. The Avengers ended with Endgame. Leave on a high note and don't look back.

The Avengers have always been compromised of B and C listers it wasnt unti they made to movies that they became A listers. They were literally thrown together because thier individual comics were not selling well at the time. Heck the incredible Hulk was cancelled after just 6 issues so lets not pretend they were the A team to start with. And honestly female characters aren't the issue either as the comics of a few of those characters actually sold well the big problem they are having is the fact they are doing what DC is trying to avoid wirh James Gunn. They used the heavy hitters and didnt sorinkle in lesser knowns meaning by the time the heavy hitter contracts ran out and didnt want to go any further they are left with characters they have to start from scratch with and hope people get just as invested which they obviously aren't

Kang is a dogshit story anyway. The idea that a 25th (or 30th or whatever) century human would take over all time, space and universes due to his advanced technology is beyond laughable. There are already societies in the universe THOUSANDS of years further advanced than us so the idea that someone like Kang would be advanced enough to conquer their civilizations as well is ludicrous. They'd be better off making him an Earth-only threat instead of trying to expand it, which would at least make it passably reasonable.
They should have moved on to Galactus or some other alien threat instead since everything they're talking about is underwhelming. They hinted that the 10 "rings" was an alien technology that was sending out a beacon so they should have gone with that instead (or what about the negative zone and Annilihus which could have doubled as a F4 introduction. You could do all kinds of things with him and it's something kind of different so might be worth a shot.

The quote a great men. “ Let them die”. They have only themselves to blame. Even before END GAME the writing was on the wall. The Civil War comics almost killed Marvel back in the 90’s and Stan Lee was able to buy it back for pennies. And the first thing he did was get rid of all that crap. All the other superheroes never ever sold as well as the main Five did ( Spider-Man, Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Hulk ) So again “ Let them die”. They’ve gone woke so let them go broke.
