This is a tessellation folded from an single hexagon piece of paper creased to a 24 division triangle grid.
At the end of the tutorial I show you how I cut a hexagon from a square piece of paper and how to divide it into 24 divisions.

This uses a few tessellating techniques and it’s one of my favourite arrangements I’ve come up with to date.

Yes, still here watching and listening! Love the sound of crinkling paper and fascinated by your folding. Frankly, I can't really fold anything past a clover or a hydrangea from 15 cm square. Just not talented enough but love to watch other people be successful at it.
I watch the whole thing, repeatedly. I’ve only just reached this level, sort of. When I’m trying to fold, I rewind a lot. I’m really grateful there’s no music (although I love music) and that you speak English. Many of the tutorials I watch have jolly music and are in languages I can’t even read. I just mute those. It is a bit odd, though, that so many Origamists (is that a word?) never show their faces. Why is that? Some do, just to say hello. Or to talk about Origami as a topic a bit. I enjoy that. I love how precise you are, even though you sometimes say exactitude isn’t important. (Really?) Thanks for your videos. I enjoy them.
I know what you mean about the music - if there’s music in a tutorial, I’ll mute it. I will rewind so often that it does my head in.
I rarely show my face online. Just a personal choice really. I like to remain reasonably anonymous with my art so it’s about the origami and not about me.
It’s also easier for origamists (totally a word!) to just have the one camera angle for tutorials so it’s all about the hands and paper.

Wow-just finished folding this beautiful star. Used a 6 inch square and have never folded on this tiny of a grid. I feel such a sense of accomplishment! Color was black with red diagonals and a little white on the corners., so the petals of my center flower are half red, half black, so will fold this again with some true harmony so center is all one color. Great tutorial- it's amazing to watch how quickly you fold and yet make it all look so simple. Had a problem at the beginning putting the last point of the center star in since it was basically doing two sides at the same time, and I felt all was lost. But thought I wasn't going to work that hard at folding in such a tiny grid to give up. Kept playing with it and it finally fell into place, but still don't know how I did it--ha. Will find out when I fold again with some harmony. In the meantime, will post on Instagram after pressing overnight, and thanks again for a great tutorial.

I'd guess it's mostly because I enjoy the sound of paper being folded rather than needing to see the process repeated.

I love your tutorials. I love the sound of paper being folded and have successfully folding the Ligia Montoya star and the triangle twist. It's super fun. I've been painting my own paper and love the feel of it. Glassine takes on completely new properties and isn't as difficult to deal with. Where do you get your fun paper? Please keep teaching us!!

Triangle twists are always fun, and once you’ve done a bunch of them you can add triphilia patterns to jazz it up a notch.
The paper I am using is called Harmony, made by Grimmhobby.
They come in 7.5cm and 15cm squares and is my all time favourite paper.
How did you crease the grids,before or after cutting the hexagon?
I cut the hexagon first and then crease the grid.

It has certainly been discovered by others previously but I figured this one out myself.
I have a story highlight on my Instagram account called “spiral star”. It is the same as the central flower just with points that can be folded in.

@@bwalde2 the centre of this to can definitely be folded to have an open hexagon in the middle like the chat gpt logo.

This kinda looks hard...I need to learn tessellation for my holiday homework but after seeing two videos, I think it is hard for a 13 year old to do this...But I like the way you made it look easy..Can u post some videos of origami tessellation on ancient showpieces?

You cut a hexagon from a piece of paper - there are instructions on CZcams.
Then crease it in thirds from edge to edge - i use a ruler.
Then crease each section in half, in half again, and then in half again. You will then have 24 divisions.
