A real shame that Lanzini's career was blighted by injury. That season with Payet...a real highlight. Interesting that he picked Arnautovic...at the end of Moyes' first spell as manager...we had a front 3 of Lanzini, Arnautovic and Joao Mario...a potent combination at times. I have always been a fan of Lanzini. He is a BRILLIANT player. If he hadn't broken his knee in a pre world cup friendly, I think he could have been West Ham's main creative midfieder for many years. Unfortunately, he wa snever the same after that injury. His link up play when Marko Anautavic was the stiker was brilliant.

gutted to see Lanzini go, but he was under-utilized last season which with a player like Paqueta around to work with was a massive oversight. If you favour a more defensive style with Soucek then fine, but what an opportunity to switch things up majorly sometimes. Never happened and so bye bye to one of our best flare players.
