  • Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with the 2-1 victory over host Brighton this evening, Wednesday, in a postponed match from the 34th round of the English Premier League. Chelsea performed admirably, rising to sixth place in the standings with one round remaining, putting them in contention for a return to European competition.
Pochettino conveyed to the BBC, "The approach we adopted in the match, facing a formidable opponent like Brighton, is primarily credited to our players." He continued, "I am thrilled with the outcome, as the three points place us in a favorable position in the standings ahead of our final match against Bournemouth, with European participation at stake."
He acknowledged Brighton's strength, stating, "Brighton is a formidable team, and playing here is always challenging." Reflecting on his team's performance, he remarked, "Both results and performances have seen improvement. We've emphasized the importance of patience; building something substantial requires time, although it might seem like an excuse at a prestigious club."
Continuing optimistically, he said, "We've persisted in our efforts and maintained a positive mindset. We aim to conclude the season on a high note." Addressing the ongoing debate surrounding the continuity of video technology, Pochettino clarified, "That decision isn't mine to make."
Concluding on a reflective note, he remarked, "We live in an era of technological advancements. For me, it's not about whether we continue to use VAR or not, but rather about enhancing its implementation."
