  • It's been a while, as Staind once sang, but we managed to cut the back lawn with the hopes of it drying out so we can look to make some remedial works to stop it from getting this bad again!
Have a look and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Well this was good timing, just given my lawns a mow, come in and saw you have a video posted up🥳🥳🥳heartbreaking to see how your back lawn looks now, compared to in the previous pictures, didn't think it looked in too bad condition until you zoomed in on all the p.o.a etc😥You certainly have some hard graft ahead of you doing that, you will be glad to get back to work after your week off, to have a break😂😂😂😂
I noticed on mowing mine just now that I grew from bare soil back in September, my front has quite a bit of clover through it in areas, only at my front lawn though, which is more shaded by my house, where as my back gets sun for most the day. In two minds on wether to just spray a spot weed killer resolva that kills weed, not grass, in the areas, or sprinkle my doff complete lawn feed, weed and moss killer over the whole lawn. Or was even thinking of scarifying it, and then overseeding and top dressing with compost, so the scarifying should get the clover up, and then hopefully the overseeding will thicken the areas and so win the space of any clover areas, decisions, decisions, we have to make when lawn care o.c.d nutters😂😂😂😂😂looking forward to your next video👍

Managed to cut on Wednesday night before the champions league football, and did an edit last night, finished off today. Yeah it's a shame how bad it is, but at least there has been some kind of green there! Hoping for more dry days so i can get out and start the digging. Will all be by hand so I will be ruined by the end of it! But should be worth it. Knowing my luck we will have mild winters so won't need drainage like this! 😆😆😆
I'd spot treat the clover now unless your overseeding. If you are I'd scalp, scarify etc then treat the weeds when the new grass has matured.
It may have come from the compost or the original soil?

@@TheReelMowingMowingClub rather you than me mate, back breaking work, which I found out last September digging all mine by hand, but I am 53, so have a good few years on you, but still you will be running a bath every night with radox bath salts🤣🤣🤣yeah thanks for the advice, think I will just spot treat it for now with resolva that won't kill the grass, pretty sure it has come from dirt cheap compost I bought for £10 for 4 bags from the range, absolute rubbish, full of wood, glass, stones, plastic, you name it, but lesson learnt, won't buy it again. I used It when I just seeded some bare thin areas. Should have read the reviews about it before buying, but I suppose £3-99 a bag or 4 bags for £10, have to expect rubbish🤦👍

Hi, noticed you use a hose pump. Would you mind sharing the make/model and how it performs please?

Hi, yes, due to sub standard water pressure on the new build property I bought a Tallas D-Jet 1100.
It gives me good pressure and I can use an oscillating sprinkler and impact sprinkler at the same time, or the new Grutek spike sprinklers I have recently purchased, and should be able to run 3 of these together.

Funny the turf i had laid in my garden followed pretty much the same pattern over the space of a few years, Started off amazing then faded out quite badly

Was it a new build too? It struggled it's always struggled but this year it has been obliterated. Need to sort the drainage so that the kids can play on it without coming in like they've been in a mud bath

@@TheReelMowingMowingClub My house is a semi new build I guess. It's 13 years old. Luckily for me the drainage is pretty decent but the quality of the soil is definitely up for question. When they built these house ours was the last to be built so I'm pretty sure most of the rubbish was dumped under our garden 🤣
