I had the exact same bike when I was 16. I rode it on the street before I had a car and had great fun on the trails and the beach in Ocean City Maryland. Thanks for the memories.
Another great video, made with much endeavours! Do you know that it were your videos from the Yamaha DT 250 (3) and the XT 250 which brought me to the point to buy and restore an old Yamaha XT 250. Yep, and the petrol tank I did let make in India, I've sent the old rusty one to them and then they made a new one ... and now make a small series with it. I've made 4 videos about refurbishing the Yamaha and then some rides. Have a great remaining year, Christian.
Replacing the music wire springs in the forks with silicone wire springs will improve the handling a great deal. Especially after 46 years. The music wire springs lose their resiliency quickly. I made my first jump on that bike. I didn't know what I was doing, didn't keep a neutral stance and nose dived, landing front wheel first. The fuel cap is not very smooth and it cut my pants up. I ended up with two side by side dents right next to the cap from the horrible racking I received lol. The only problem I had with the bike was that the threads in the cylinder for the compression release were stripped. I miss that hill climbing monster. Bought a 78' YZ250 the next year and went racing.
Great video! Hearing the sound of the two stroke brings back memories of riding dirt bikes in the 70s. A friend had the MX 360. That thing was a beast and a rocket!

Superb. Love the DT range. i had a DT50m. you can see the styling similarities. Although i'd liked you to rev it out, the low down torque is impressive. Love the editing.
As a person that has ridden and owns so many variants, I wonder if he prefers the 360 over the 400 or if he finds the monoshock models in later model years that much better than the twin shocks. Hope Mr. Micou can have an opportunity to responde si vou plait.
Hello. I have been happily surprised by the facility of use of the 360 74. You can use it à low revs without clonking. Nearly the same thing with the 1975 400 despite the bigger piston. But the thermoflow shocks are by far too stiff. I dismantle them and I will try W10 oil. The monoshock is neatly better off road but the 400 DTMX engine is efficient but deceiving.

Bonjour Jean-Claude. La 360 DT de 74, qui n'a quasiment plus rien à voir avec les 360 RT1 et RT2, ne manque pas de caractère mais est très docile à démarrer. Allumage CDI et décompresseur couplé au kick rendent la mise en route presque facile. Les RT1 (1970 - 71) et RT2 (1972 - 73) demandaient un réglage de l'allumage précis et coup de kick très volontaire pour lui montrer qui est le patron. Sinon, les casses de carter d'embrayage ou même de cheville étaient à craindre sur un retour de kick monumental.

Hello. I probably will choose the 175. Not too much powerfull but off road, you have the size and weight of a 125 with more power and torque. It is a very fun and efficient combination.

Bonjour. Non, je n'en ai pas monté. Il doit être difficile de trouver toutes les pièces en bon état et je n'en ai pas ressenti l'utilité en roulant. Le moteur est souple, coupleux, et ne vibre pas beaucoup dans les tours. Il s'utilise surtout à mi-régime, donc pas besoin de balanciers.
@@micoumeekoo Salut Micou. Sûr que ça doit pas être facile à trouver. D'autant que je me demande si sur le DT les logements des roulements de balencier sont déjà usinés ou pas... Pour les vibes, je n'ai pas roulé avec donc pas pu en juger, en revanche j'ai aussi un 400 TS (bravo pour tes vidéos, d'ailleurs..) et là je me dis que ça serait pas du luxe un balancier. Tu dirais que le DT vibre moins ?

Bonjour Arturo. J'ai aussi une 350 Big Horn. Elle n'était pas en bon état et j'ai du changer la bielle et le piston et aussi le silencieux. Maintenant, elle est en rodage. La carburation est difficile à régler mais elle commence à marcher correctement. Elle est comparable à la DT 360 avec un peu plus de puissance à bas régime. Mais la partie-cycle semble plus lourde et moins maniable. Je ferais une vidéo au printemps prochain
