56 year old American here. This is my first exposure to Tuur. One of many reasons I have recently subscibed to this podcast. I'm afraid I may be in one of the countries you spoke of in the first 15 minutes.
Thank You!! What you do is very needed and very appreciated.
Thanks for sharing Mike! Happy you are enjoying the podcast 🙏

I agree with Tuur's closing words; you're doing this community a great service, Bram. Thank you, and I'll be here for it
thank you!
I don't know if you guys are too young to get the reference, but Yeats ago Blind Melon had a song called "No rain." In the music video, there was a tap dancing girl in a bee costume. The entire video she is being laughed at by people she tries to perform for. At the end of the video, she finds a field full of people dancing with bee suits on, and she joins and is in her glory! That is for me, the Bitcoin community. You guys that understand bitcoin at a deep fundamental first principles level are my field of bumble bee 🐝 😀 🧡🧡🧡

Thanks for the rec - I'll check it out! I love bees, haha
Yes, I remember that song well as it was in the early nineties when I was around 21yrs old.

To get a compliment to your abilities and competencies as a good podcast host from Tuur is commendable. It just shows that the more guests you interview and dialogue with over time is perfecting and refining your skills.
Nice one.
Also, just a suggestion.
Alex Gladstein would be a awesome guest to get on.

What about the danger of grid failure, electromagnetic storms, EMP’s?
once the first nodes start up again, Bitcoin still exists.

A nice conversation. But there was this a bit ridiculous part where Tuur talks about artists from renaissance and post-renaissance era. Assuming that people had a great life just because there was some great art, some architechtural achievements in the country? Honestly, that's just pure nonsense. Sure, renaissance was a great period in the history but it still took hundreds of years of slow progress and the majority of people lived in a poverty. And there were also many, many setbacks (especially devastating wars) along the way. We live in the best era now - even though there's a LOT of room and potential for improvement.
U missed the point lol
I understand where you're coming from. I am beyond thankful it was done in English. Thank you for your patience and tolerance with my American ass.
Dank! Ik ben bezig om in wat Nederlandse podcasts als gast te komen dus wellicht helpt dat :)
