I’m a senior at MSU right now, about to graduate with my Bachelors in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. I have 11 hours left and I feel as if I have no more motivation to strive. Dez gave me a pick me up today bro not forget that end goal and to take care of my family. A young black man, first generation college graduate, I gotta keep pushing!
Congrats man good for you wishing u and your fam the best !
Keep at it bruh!great job

Come take care of me too fam. Please
Dez is not lying he would come to 24hr Fitness in Cedar Hill by himself no security and play basketball he's cool down to earth person and he motivates people
Damn hearing Dez story makes me sit back and really think before we speak about someone. Have grace on people. You never know what someone has been through in their life to shape them into the person they’ve become. So many of these analysts kill these players when they make a mistake or don’t conform to what they feel is the norm. Their life growing up wasn’t the norm , but they still made it to this platform.God is good !
Real Talk and I have been guilty of not giving Grace to people, but God has given so much Grace to me.
I respect that
My cousin was a jailer in Lufkin Tx, Dez's hometown. He said his mother was a frequent inmate and Dez had to sleep there sometimes because he had nowhere else to go. For him to make it to where he did is an hell of an accomplishment
Wow that’s crazy man.🤦🏿♂️ sad that not everyone has the same starting line in life.
wow
Your cousin is a lie , he always stayed with his aunt or the neighbor Jackie. He never slept at the jail with his mother

Wow!!
We need Allen iverson please make it happen. He is a cultural icon
Yes indeed
that would make a great season finale! end it with a bang
I can't listen to him talk
he is THE cultural icon
On God 🙏🏾
You can tell it was hard for dez to talk about his mom and the things he went through with her. I applaud him so much for being vulnerable. I love to see men express themselves.
Why should a person be vulnerable do you know what that means?
Bruh, most real show on CZcams. Dez explaining what people and young mothers in the black or poor communities have to deal with. Thanks fellas.
"Most real people are isolated" Dez Bryant. So True!! Real is rare, fake is everywhere. Thanks Mr. Bryant for telling your story and speaking the truth!
He dropped a jewel with that one fr fr
I felt that.

Yo, I look at Dez in a whole different light. This podcast just keeps getting better because it destroys the narrative that the media has been pushing about our black athletes. Chad, BMarsh TO the list goes on. Although we’ve always rode out and supported the media hid the true side of our idols. This podcast will educate many generations of young black athletes coming up.
Keep pushing the truth OG’s . 💪🏿
I couldn't agree more! The Cam Newton Episode is a perfect example of this.
@@ChurchofGodBoys yup Cam especially
@pete torcia There's clearly a difference in caliber so why?
@pete torcia better question what should we identify as? I know you might want to be PC and say something like "JUST ATHLETES" or try to equalize it, and it may sound nice but it won't be true. Truth is black athletes aren't the same and I'm not even talking about the obvious difference, (physical) I'm talking about the social and economical differences where we've never been equal in any sport. Basketball is as close as we've gotten and even those players can go across seas and be truly appreciated and will get more equlity there than they will in a country that wishes that we could just consider ourselves equal while at the same time we continue to get viewed and treated separately.....How do we do that?
This podcast has helped change my mind on a lot of different players. Hell, I hated B Marsh when he played, but now I understand that they only let you see what they want you to see.
“If they put me in the HOF they on crack.”
-Channing Crowder
Chan too funny
I appreciate his honesty. 🤣
Man can ONLY find true freedom through Jesus Christ.
Every person is born a sinner and the wages of sin is eternal separation from God the Father which is hell, but the Gods gift to everyone is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
God is giving you a FREE gift! You don’t have to do ANYTHING for it but just TAKE IT!
Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day to save YOU from your sins!
Jesus gave His life for you to be free from the penalty of your sins.
Believe and trust what Jesus Christ did for you and you WILL BE SAVED
Chan is a REAL ONE

It takes a real man to go that deep into his emotions and experiences. I'm a girl grew up in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and got my ass whooped by my mother with a wooden table foot and was not able to walk for 2 weeks. Got whooping because I let my younger sister in the house because she had left. Thank you for going there, it's called HEALING. Wholeness brother!
This was dope. Nice chemistry with the team here. Brandon does his thing with moderating.

Shit, Dez got me crying. Feel like I been puttin my parents on my back trying to get to this bag and dont nobody believe in me no more. Feel like i dissapointed my momma and my daddy every day. Shit out here is real when it comes to the passion for the sport you play. For all you young baseball players, it aint about doing it for you. Its about doing it for ya momma and ya daddy and ya siblings. Give them a better life than you had. God Bless, Dez, B-Marsh, Fred Taylor, and Channing. Yall boys doing some special with this show fr.
Chad and Brandon going back & forth about the Ocho vs Science is always hilarious 😂😂😂
Classic!
Dez said some of the absolute realist shit ever on this show. And I agree with him 100%. The problem is that it's a multi billion dollar industry and they aren't going to change the model. Why would they change and help the inner city when they know it produces the type of athletes they need to keep the league going?
Facts.
Not an nfl defender buttttt
Is that not what they did? They spending the money they letting players speak their truths. Did Collin not start something?
Period!!!
@@6donta the league isn't letting the players speak their truths the players are saying what the league tells them and allows them to say. What Dez is saying is why not instead of saying "Black lives matter" say what's really going on in the communities. That would promote empathy. Enough empathy and things might actually change. But the league doesn't want to change its farm system.
Nah facts bro!
I NEVER LIKED DEZ BECAUSE OF MY HATE FOR DALLAS COWBOYS THIS INTERVIEW CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR ME THANKS 🙏🏿 DEZ FOR YOUR YOUR STORY KING 👑 ‼️
I was so into that conversation my stove caught fire and I didn’t even realize it.
Man, Brandon trying to tell Fred he was ruining the moment actually ruined the moment IMO
I saw this comment right when it happened and I agree dude needs to just shut his mouth some times and let others talk
Fred has to learn to let the moment sit....yes its homies talking but it's still cameras and a show hence B say Im w Dez 35x 😂😂😂😂
That shit pissed me tf off
DEFINITELY !
i agree, Brandon definitely ruined the moment.
Gotta respect Dez for taking his time and choosing his words carefully when talking about his mom and his upbringing. Not once did he blame her or throw her under the bus for what she had to do to take care of the family. Respect ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Even if he did, he wouldn’t be wrong in doing so.
It’s called forgiveness. Dez will never forget, but he remembers it differently. He’s a wise soul that clearly is spiritually rooted. There is a higher truth beyond knowing. That was the 🍎 in the garden.
@Disguised Dv8ant I mean he's still called to honor his mother no matter how trash she might have been
@Disguised Dv8ant I don't know why mothers are above reproach
If there is love there’s room for forgiveness, and growth, Dez decided to hold onto resentment and bitterness toward his mother so that their relationship could form and blossom, just because mistakes were made doesn’t mean love is lost, if you’ve ever witness a woman give birth you may understand why the love and bond is stronger than a fathers can be, mothers will always get the praise because of their nurturing nature
One of the realest conversations I’ve ever heard. Hits deep with my childhood as well. So much more respect for Dez and I’m a diehard Cowboys fan. Much love I AM ATHLETE FAM.
I was listening to this podcast while I was working and when he choked up about his mom I teared up outta nowhere. Coming from a foster home I never felt that love before, never try & put yourself in somebody else shoes. 💯💯

Sports are just another job occupation, life doesn’t discriminate
I need them to bring a nutritionist on here that also has background in education and understands the implications that structural racism has on health choices in lower socioeconomic communities. It’s sad how ethnic foods are now taught to be unhealthy when our ancestors have survived off it for decades. Healthy foods are foods that are dense in nutrients. Healthy foods are foods that provide you with the necessary building blocks to fuel your body.
Chicken is not unhealthy. Beef is not unhealthy. Rice is not unhealthy. Potatoes are not unhealthy.
funny part is that meal would've been healthier if they used real chicken.
@Michael Jurek Oh I've DEFINITELY met people who said chicken and beef are unhealthy.
Bri in theory I agree with you -if your talking ancestors from chattle slavery/plantation days until about 50/60 years ago what your saying makes total sense since the vast majority of the foods you listed were literally farm to table. When the Beef you get is from a Fast Food chain, when the potatoes you eat are chips- you see where I’m headed? IMO it’s less about the food itself and more about the process it goes thru to get to your plate. Of course - “Farm to Table” is usually the most expensive food one can buy and it’s most likely at a fancy farmers market or high-end grocer. So we end up eating junk…
ANYTHING can be unhealthy when consumed in excess. Some people don’t practice moderation. I personally don’t like cookies, cakes, pies etc. All I eat is quality meats (pause), fish and veggies. Not for health purposes, just bc that is what I like.
@@BothTeamsPlayedHard For sure. I definitely understand what you are saying. I realized a lot of us do not know how to eat healthy, and I would like for my community to become educated on nutrition and wellness from people in the field.

We need to shift our culture..our thought processes, and our narrative..to create a new direction. We discuss hardships so often that alchemically…we have created a cycle that never stops, and we just do not see that. We truly are missing the point of how to shift energy. @@marcelmarshall4240 so he shouldn’t speak on his past ?
@@cbshine It is a story we have heard 1000’s of times, so no. These dudes should speak on their SUCCESSES. The positive things they are doing, and building, rather than ‘raising that energy’ that we want to die..constantly. You see, we keep saying we want the situation he grew up in to change, but we keep talking about it..keeping giving it energy. No other group does this. They speak on what they are BUILDING. What they are CREATING..not their past. It serves zero purpose, as you should easily be able to see. It changes NOTHING. Sure he can speak on, and do whatever HE wants, but if we are to ever change this, we have to understand that we are a part of a WHOLE, and treat our actions as such. We behave individually. We do not practice group ANYTHING…and feel we have no real responsibility to the group. It starts with stopping the repetition of the same narrative..by not bringing it up when you are a millionaire. Talk about how God/The Universe tends to balance things out by making athletes predominantly come from those tough areas. There are not many suburban-born Black athletes. They are given physical gifts to offset their circumstances. Recognize THAT. Preach about that..so more of THAT energy manifests. What you focus on..STAYS real..and we keep talking about this same narrative, and it keeps continuing the cycle. We need to reshape our culture…because this one..is not working.
