Marie-Anne- I did it!! I finally found my red lipstick!! I have searched year after year and had given up, but YOU inspired me to try again. I found a cosmetic sales lady my age and she helped me. In fact, she showed me two that weren’t even the brand she sells but she thought they would be perfect for me, and she was right! I was really out of my comfort zone the first day I wore it but everyone kept complementing how I looked that day and most had no idea what the change was. I feel so chic and I’m happy to say that Coco Chanel was right after all! Thank you thank you thank you for inspiring me!
Sharon, what color/brand Reds were they? Always interested in these things. Some reds are just too harsh on me or too “orangy” so they look clownish.😊
I never thought of navy and brown, but I really like it. And I really like the navy with the olive green. So elegant.
I had "forgotten" about this color, really! I went out and bought a soft, fuzzy and very slim fitting navy blue turtleneck sweater. The amount of compliments I received was amazing! I felt so elegant in it, and the color did fabulous things for my complexion and eyes. Thank you for reminding me about this overlooked shade.
I love navy. Much more than black. I would wear navy every day if I could. I loved all the red you put with the navy. Great inspiration.
Navy is my signature 'base' colour. Thank you for useful tips, Marie-Anne, especially about combining it with brown. It definitely broadens my options. 🙏♥️
Bleu marine, my favourite "neutral" colour :) It's been my favourite... all my life, whether it was trendy or not. Thank you for this special video!!
Oh yes!! Same here😍 looooove navy all my life✌️
Oh, that beautiful navy silk blouse you’re wearing. It’s just gorgeous.
Bonjour Marie Anne, Navy is my colour now as I will be 90 in a couple of years. And now I have added pink to compliment it thanks to you. Also Spring Green jacket for outdoor walking with navy and white spot neck scarf to add to my navy pants and light Merino a top. Love your videos and thank you for answering an earlier comment a couple of months ago with very kind thoughts.
Think you would love a trip to Australia some time. Take Care. Aussie Jill
I can hardly believe it! I can't wear black and don't like brown garments and felt a bit helpless. This video was made for me! I can recreate almost all the outfits sith items already in my wardrobe - thank you so much. It's made my day!
Marie-Anne, I have a plan now! Navy was always my favourite with white or red. As the years have gone by (I'm now 57) my wardrobe has lost its way. Now my aim is to invest in some "key" pieces in navy. I also love the idea of a journal to help my thought process, something I shall also aim to do. My style journey has started Marie-Anne. Thank you for your inspiration.
I forgot to mention that you look beautiful! This hairstyle and the red lipstick suits you to perfection!
Dear Marie-Anne, You look absolutely stunning in this blouse! Would you please consider a video about how to care for a silk blouse?I think a lot of women avoid silk because they think is too delicate. Love all of the combinations you show. Well done!
Navy blue is so classy and flattering . I love wearing emerald green with it and a burnt orange
Marie-Anne Lecoeur my favourite navy is a midnight navy. As for decorating I just love indigo and white. So beautiful 💜
Thank you . Navy and brown is a new concept . Love all your clothes !
Navy is another classic color. Great with all the metals, all the other neutrals. Navy with white jeans is also stunning. Very nice video. 😊
Enjoyed this video especially since navy is the core neutral in my wardrobe. I'm always on the lookout for adding multi-coloured scarves and jackets that contain navy as linking elements similar to your choices. Another elegant colour to wear with navy is burgundy especially in the winter (footwear, belts and handbags). Accents of teal or aqua can be nice if it suits one's colouring.
Love navy - love that navy blouse ! I have a 3 season overcoat that shade that has been a favourite for 6 years now . A column of navy looks beautiful under a dark taupe topper !
You have great taste and your wardrobe is so versatile and well planned. Love all the jackets and the cap you showed us. Amazing to visually see how many colors go so well with navy! Thanks for a very insightful video!
Thank you Marie-Anne and to the follower that asked for this! My favourite colour ever.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur 🌹🌹👏🏻
Navy and cream is a rich combination together!
I so agree, Marie-Anne, about not looking ‘frumpy’! Above all, going out and about should be about enjoyment. And we should all dress for it...even if we are only running errands or attending appointments. Navy is one of my preferred colors. So versatile! And all your outfits look terrific.
Just this morning my mom looked at my navy blazer and said "that is one color I do not have. I'm always wearing black blazers." Great timing for this video. Thank you so much. 😄
Marie-Anne Lecoeur I just sent her the link. 😉
I ❤️ navy blue. It’s my go to wardrobe color.
Loved this video!. I wear navy blue a lot and it was wonderful to see how you style this beautiful color. Beautiful blouse, loved the navy polka dot scarf too. Merci 💙💙💋
Navy is such a classic classy colour. I agree 100% with you as I'm maturing I find I'm turning to navy more than black. In finding black too harsh nowadays. You are spot on Marie Anne. X
I've just bought a navy blazer and I'm delighted with it. I'll be wearing it both smart and casual. It will need a very small adjustment to the length of the sleeves, but I can do that myself quite easily. I'll be able to wear so much with it, I'm so excited! 😁
Pantone color of the year 2020 is Classic Blue. One of my favorite colors. Thank you for the video, Marie-Anne! Always enjoy watching!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur And because you ARE a classy Lady! Love from New Orleans. USA
Pantone blå....vist mere coboltblå...foretrækker navy...
Oh I loved all the outfits you prepared today but I really love the red! The multi coloured jacket, red belt & shoes was so lovely ❤ I adore that blouse anyway & your pink one & I must say I'm going to start wearing navy blue😀 thank you Marie-Anne 😘
I love the silk and denim and other fabric contrasts. Pink and navy! Green wool jacket!
Merci, Marie-Anne
The multi-colour jacket is very cute. Something i would wear. This has been such a helpful video. All the options work well. Thankyou. Bev xx
My favourite colour. For me "total navy blue" is like "total black".During sunny days I like to hold a red or bordeaux handbag. Thank you...🙂
Navy is so flattering and chic on most people.
I've loved navy blue since I was in my 20's. To me, it is so classy. It was hard to find in the USA for quite a few years. I was so happy when I could find it again! I wear navy with burgundy in the winter and navy with red in summer.
I could not find it in Australia for years in the mid 2000s so when I see navy silk shirts I like I buy them now....... I still find good navy blue suits a little difficult to find
This is so true that navy was very hard to find in the US, even for decades! I always loved it as a child and picked up something navy when I would find it in those scarce years, or resorted to buying navy cashmere in the mens dept.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I got a lot of good ideas from this. Black has never worked for me so basically I have a navy blue closet.
Finally a channel with styles that I love!
Merci Sylvia and a Big French Chic Welcome to you 🤗
Thank you for the video. Specialy when you said " my goodness it's very frumpy, lol. I like navy bleu very much. Also baby bleu. I already change a lot of my wardrobe. Again thank you for your advice 😚
While black is my ‘go to’ neutral, navy has always been a close second when I can find it, especially now that my hair is more salt than pepper. I can wear red, pink, peacock blue, grey and white with either so that makes my existing wardrobe pieces go farther. Marie Anne I love hearing your thoughts and seeing your outfit combinations. They inspire me to think about new ways to combine what is in my closet. Merci!
Sounds like you are a winter.. I to have salt and pepper hair and those colors you mentioned are a few of my favorites. Loved this video
I love navy blue and all the outfits, my favorites are the wrap, multi colored jacket, the green jacket. Love the red shoes! Your blouse is beautiful ❤️ Merci Marie-Anne
Marie-Anne, I loved you video. Navy has always been a staple in my wardrobe, especially now with my casual clothes. I really like pairing it with rust in the fall. You might remember that the reason I started following you is to figure our why Parisians looked so well-dressed all the time last fall, and you reminded me of the wraps. Most women, no matter their age, were wearing some kind of large wraps around their necks. They always looked so good, and warm! Thank you!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur yes I'm still here! I just had knee replacement surgery so there was a gap in my viewing. So nice to have your channel while I recuperate!
I have never cared for navy blue and you made me look at it under a different light! Loved the combinations.
You really do have a lovely wardrobe, well though and pieces that works well together. It does make me look at what I have and change a few pieces. Merci j’apprécie votre enthousiasme. ❤️
Bonjour Marie-Anne! I love these outfits! Can you please show us some outfits with jeans and flat shoes, as I cannot wear heels! Merci beaucoup! ❤️
Bonjour Marie - Anne, I love navy blue and this silk blouse is gorgeous! It was an inspiring video, I want to go and try my navies at once:D
Navy blue also looks beautiful with turquoise, aqua, light green, apple green, light pink, fuchsia, bright or pale yellow, orange, gold, silver, burgundy, tan, cognac, rust, white, cream, ecru... it never ends :)
So i Can see...but you are right, fantastic Colour.
So beautiful! My favourite is with the gray coat with the red wrap. I love navy blue it is such a classic colour and versatile. My silk blue blouse is less elegant, just a normal cut. I must found the right pair of jeans or put it with trousers.
I think over a certain age navy is more flattering than black. Thanks for doing this. I always associate navy and spring green with spring
I like the brown leather jacket with the navy blouse--great combination. And, I always love navy worn with grey. It's so rich.
Thank you for the tips!
I was wrong this is now my favourite video, I adore navy blue, it’s so much more flattering than black, sending love 🇬🇧
I do love navy, Marie-Anne, it's such a wonderfully versatile colour. :)
Love Navy Blue! I’m fair, and black looks too harsh on me. Thank you for doing this video 💕
navy blue is fantastic and versatile and perfect for those of us who can't wear black
Favorites are the 1st red silk scarf and the green wool jacket. I have been remembering some items I had as a child and a favorite was a spring green simple dress with wide navy trim. I visited my older sister at her college and felt so stylish. I remembered that dress when you showed your light green skirt.
I've had to wear navy blue for most of my nursing career. With my pale skin, dark hair and some red lipstick it looks polished and suits me but omg because I wear it professionally I rarely buy it for regular clothes. Maybe I'll have to rethink this.
Navy blue is such a universal color. I cannot take black because it wears me and makes me look like I'm going t my own funeral but I have bought many navy items of clothing lately. I love it with olive green.Your video here is great, one of my faves.I find navy blue such a great color basic for building a workable wardrobe.
I loved that cardigan! I'd never get tired of wearing it.
I love, love, love navy and blackberry colors on me! I'm older now, and these are fantastic, whereas black is too much now, as you said!
Really like all the items worn with the blouse and jeans - everything works! I like this style of dressing. x
I love navy with red.....like those gorgeous red shoes of yours MA! And yes I do like your new cap! It suits you well.😀
I absolutely adore that cap.
Just love these color combinations and all items are great
Navy is also my core color since I am blonde and fair skinned with gold undertones. I do love the way you style clothing for women over 50 and suggest classy and fun at the same time. Thank you so much.
Loved everything, but loved the red in particular, the cap is so great on you Marie-Anne.
Also your hat is great! I was thinking to bye own like this and now you made me to decide it!!
While I love black, I honestly feel like navy is more flattering on many skin tones and more versatile! And it's easier to wear year round.
Chocolate brown is another option that is kinder and gentler than black.
Certainly keeps the complexion warmer than black.
@@elsagrace3893 my favourite alternative.
*WOW* !!!! *LOVE your outfit choices* !!!!! *I do own a few navy pieces but need to own more...* !!!! *Thank you for ALL of your GREAT advice Marie-Anne* !!!! #FrenchChicStyle #MarieAnneLeCoeur
I love your suggestions, and your style. So classic, and beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much. Your videos are helping much in decluttering especially you have very specific recommendations for pairing.
Great vid! Thanks Marie-Anne. Love the navy blouse with denim. Also the brown leather jacket looks great with the navy... I wouldn't have expected it. 🤩
Really nice video Marie-Anne. Thanks!
That cap looks so stylish! Love the blouse too.
What a fun and informative video!! And Marie-Anne you are just stunning in everything!!!! I have learned SO MUCH for YOU. Thank you! You have truly been a great resource for me as well and everyone who subscribers. I have a red cashmere wrap that I forgot about until I saw how fabulous YOU LOOK in yours. thanks again for another exciting, fun, informative video .
It all looks great. I didn't know navy would look so good in so many ways. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a 64 year young red head and I use autumn colors...scarves, jackets, etc.@@MarieAnneLecoeur
One of my favorite colors is navy blue. Brown shoes and belt are my choice when wearing it along with white, ivory, cream and beige or camel and light gray or light blue.
I don’t wear lots of red but eventually I wear navy blue jeans, a white shirt or sweater and a red jacket. It looks beautiful and joyful.
Orange looks very nice with navy but is not a color I wear.
What a versatile color is navy blue in deed!
I adore your lessons Marie-Anne. Merci!
Your hat makes you look very youthful and beautiful!
Au revoir!😸
Beautiful ideas thank you!!❤
So lovely to meet with someone who loves their clothes as much as I do! Merci beaucoup for the fun video
Outstanding video!! Loved all the ideas combining jeans with different tops! Combining something like a leather jacket and silb blouse is so interesting and chic! We see this style often in LA and mixing something masculine with something ultra feminine is so fantastic! Thank you for the enormous work you devote to your videos... very grateful! Merry Christimas!!:)x
Great video as always Marie-Anne. I love wearing navy, it flatters my pale complexion better than black, but it goes with everything. I love wearing navy with red or white. I really love your red patterned Joules scarf. In the Spring, I love wearing a pop of pink or yellow with my navy, as a single accessory, perhaps a scarf or a sweater. 😍❤️😍
I love Navy. I think a great color combination is Navy with plum tones-aubergine would be quite lovely. I prefer Navy over black. Love gray and camel for other neutral colors.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Really appreciate that you take the time to respond to all of your viewers.
I just love navy!! I just bought a sweater in navy and a bunch of silk scarves and I love mixing and matching and also some loafers in different colors. By the way, I love your cap! I just found a really cute plaid beret for the winter! I love berets and used to wear them for many years. I’m finally finding my style again that is comfortable and really chic and elegant. 👌🏼😍
Great video! I do like your new cap, and I look forward to more navy blue videos. 😄 I would love to see you styling a navy blazer. My favorite pairing of yours here is the red, white and blue sweater. Beautiful!
I love everything you have and yes, I love your new cap!
Never mind I just bought it in your link and it comes with the blouse! Awesome!
Another great one! Thanks for all the chic tips.
I used to wear dark blue as my base color in spring and summer, and would retire it in favor of black/charcoal for autumn and winter. But lately, I've been adding a lot of deep blue to my "cold season" wardrobe and finding that it looks just as beautiful--and a touch more interesting--than my default black. Also, instead of wearing black to evening gala events, I've been favoring ink blue, sapphire, saturated indigo, and navy. I like how it keeps the mystery and formality without being too harsh against my skin.
Did I hear you say, "I don't wear yellow"? Me either! I find the color so happy and energizing, but most shades of yellow don't suit me. I do have, however, a beautiful sunflower yellow crossbody bag that I love and use as an accent piece--very far away from my face!
Your bag yes, and a yellow belt. That's the extent of my yellow wardrobe haha too
I have light olive coloring and golden yellows don’t flatter me, however, the cool yellows do work, like lemon yellow. Maybe that would work for you, too!
@@lenneyalderfer4955 Thank you for taking the time to reply and suggest a lemony shade! When I was very, very young, I used to love a sunflower yellow summer dress I had. I felt happy and energized when I wore it, yet that's the last time I remember liking myself in yellow. Perhaps "my" yellow is still out there, waiting for me to discover it.
Navy blue is my favourite 💙 also, as an animal lover, I would love to see Coco??😉
Thank you for this very informative video! I recently rearranged my closet after seeing one of your other videos. I’m new here so still catching up. I immediately started seeing new combinations of clothes to wear and where I need to build up my wardrobe, next project is to declutter. I love navy blue and all your combinations (love the cap!) I wish we had more seasons in Southern California to wear beautiful coats but now I’m inspired to add a quality navy blue peacoat and jacket to my list, merci! Paris was one of our favorite places to travel to in 2001-2009 and wish I knew what to wear then in my late 30’s to 40’s. I looked like the typical tourist! I’m sure I showed up in someone’s photo of what not to wear in Paris! 🤭 As you said, we change as we age. I’m loving the classic, timeless look.
There's another Lily silk blouse I was looking for! The Navy, I love it! Thanks, Marie- Anne!!
Absolutely love the cap!!!!!
Very usefull and nice video. Thanks for so many ideas!
Everything is gorgeous ....I love and have many navy pieces also.....you can never go wrong with navy
Thank you!! Lovely video and very helpful! I love the combination of navy and black, grey, or beige, especially in winter. I will try red as an accent as well. Great idea!
I have a pair of bright yellow pumps that are a fun “pop” with navy! I dont wear them often because they are so noticeable but they are different, unexpected and so cute for a change now and then.
BTW - you look young and adorable in your new cap!
Really enjoy your videos. I love navy and never thought of some of the combinations shown. I really thought the red and camel wraps looked very smart as an alternative to a jacket or a coat. Thanks for all the great tips!!
Hi Marie Anne . love this video . I have always liked navy ,and now that my hair is going silver navy is my go to color . Thank you for all these great tips .
Love them all!
I’m really glad you did this video. I just ordered a navy dress and I was wondering if I could wear black shoes with it since that’s all I have. You set my mind at ease.
💙
I’m glad for your videos and I am helped by them. I’m also pleased that you will continue to put out videos during these difficult times. We need to think about happier things! God bless!
Thank you Marianne, I love navy. You gave me some good ideas. X
Thank you, Marie-anne. I love navy blue, specially with red, white and green.
Marie-Anne, I just found this video. Thank you for the many lovely ideas for styling Navy colored outfits. I really needed this! I learned a lot! A bientot! 😘
