Dunfermline Athletic Football Club are based in Fife and are one of the most well supported teams in Scotland.
They play at East End Park and have won two Scottish Cups. They've played in Europe and have also had legends at the club like Sir Alex Ferguson, Jock Stein and George Farm.
Dunfermline Athletic's (or the Pars) story is an interesting one. Please leave a like!!!

Brilliant stuff, Sam. Thinking back to Dunfermline's memorable achievements over the years, I well recall as a then 12yo the surprise, pain and sheer disbelief on learning, courtesy of Saturday's Classified Football Results, that Celtic had lost 2-0 AT HOME to Dunfermline in the first round of the Scottish Cup, January 1968. (My only "consolation"? The Pars went on to win the competition, beating Rangers' conquerors Hearts in the Final.) And Dunfermline's performances and results in the following season's European Cup-Winners Cup competition were stunning.
Gotta say that I'm mightily impressed with your channel - the variety of content, the telling of the stories (which often include non-football material but which is clearly related and equally interesting), and the excitement and enthusiasm you convey and display. And having access now (this Comment dated 1 June 2024) to players and managers post match adds another dimension. Plus, I always enjoy clips of Ian Crocker and yourself chewing the fat from time to time.
I've noticed channel subscriber numbers steadily climbing over the past many months. Won't be long before you reach 200K. Onwards and upwards as they say. Aim high. Aim for the sky, sport (as they say in Oz).

Before you had the away goals rule Dunfermline had the greatest comeback in European Football competition when they lost 4-0 to Valencia away from home only to win 6-2 at home on an icy night a week before Christmas 1962. In those days you had a playoff game at neutral venue which we lost 1-0. Barcelona stole our record post away goals rule when they came back against PSG from a 4-0 defeat to win 6-1 in second leg

  • @StrudlePie
    @StrudlePie Před 2 lety

Im a Pars fan and I didnt know the story about the badge! One of the best Dunfermline stories however, was when we played Valencia in the 1962 Fairs Cup and had lost the 1st leg in Spain 4-0. For the return leg, Jock Stein decided to put an untried 16 year old school boy and a 19 year old european debutant in the team just for the experience... We won 6-2 (6-6 on aggregate) Scoring 4 goals in the first 34 minutes. Back then instead of away goals or penalties, it went to a deciding leg which would be played in Lisbon, where we lost 1-0. Apparently everyone who turned up for the game at East End Park that night say that that was our best ever game at home ever. No British side had previously beaten Valencia and those they'd played were Rangers, Celtic, Wolves, Manchester United, Blackpool and Birmingham and they had won the tournament the previous year beating Barcelona in the Final 7-3 on Aggregate. That 16 year old schoolboy was Alex Edwards and the 19 year old was Jackie Sinclair who would between them score 3 of our 6 goals that night... I couldnt even imagine what this would be like for me to witness... My Grandad was there that night and always kept the highlights recorded on a VHS video which he kept on the book shelf, which also had the big games against Everton and West Brom and both the Cup final wins on it and I'd always watch it with him everytime I'd come stay at my Gran and Grandads and cheer along as if I was there in time with him just as he cheered all those years ago... Football eh...

I think it was the first round if I remmber right away in Bratislava
I also remember The away game against Tromso back then people where like whare the heck even is Tromso no Wikipedia back in they says.
Good vlg Sam I learnt a bit about
The Dunfermline Athletic Crest it always just looked like a complete mess to me like it had been designd buy a 5 year old.
    My favourite club Crests are
    Lokamotiv Moscow's & Hibernian's
they tell you all you need to know about both clubs they represent both clubs extremely well Hibernian have had many different Crests through the decades but the modern version I hope they stay with for a very long time to come The Ajax crest is right up there aswell same with The Seattle Sounders Crest.
If Dunfermline Athletic do go up then good luck to them but I dont think any of The CChampionship club in Scotland have what it takes to say in
The Premier League without investing heavily in the transfer market I watch plenty of games in our Championship & even Hearts have been dyer to watch & I honestly believe Scottish football could do with a strong Hearts team but sadly they are extremely poor to watch.
Keep up the good work Sam.
Do you believe The Euro's will go ahead ?.
There is talk that The Euro's could be played entirely in The U.K aswell as Dublin to let fans attend.
I personally dont think playing games in so many different country's with fans travelling about so much is such a good idea even before
The Pandemic & I think The Pandemic is a good example Why this is the case two host country's should always be plenty in my view.
    Keep Safe.

Will Dunfermline go up?.....I dont think so. The league is exciting in that any team can beat any other team but more due to the over all poor quality in the division. Dunfermline can one week give Hearts the run around and beat them fairly convincingly and then go n get pumped off Arbroath the next week. We had a good run at the start and have spluttered ever since but as you can see, we somehow still sit third because no one else has had a good enough run.
If we don't even get into the play offs (entirely plausible) that will be an abject failure with a squad as good as ours and therefore our manager Stevie Crawford will have to revert to being a club legend rather than a manager also. Will always love Stevie but missing out on playoffs will be unacceptable.

The second one was a farce too. We were playing so well in that tournament and we were in the 1st division at that time.
