Tolarian Community College Thanks prof!!
Thanks for all the work you put in! We appreciate it :D
We appreciate all that you do, Prof!
I swear you've easily saved me a thousand pounds with deck techs and these product reviews, keep it up Prof you lovely man.
Was just about to ask about this. I’m guessing it will fail miserably and all the cards will fall our.
Cards are protected by inner Sleeves which are protected by regular Sleeves which then are protected by outer Sleeves which are protected by deck boxes which are protected by deck cases which are protected by backpacks which are protected by your house
Outer/Inner sleeves?
“As our card collections grow, so too does our need for protection.” In a way, these cards are our protection.

Thank you so much for these videos. My husband always is on the go with his magic cards and I wanted to buy him a case this Christmas. Between hard vs soft cases, name brand, and not wanting to break the bank, I was at a loss. But after watching this and a few other of your videos, he's getting a Quiver under the xmas tree! You're doing a great service!
Hi Prof! You didn't perform upside down test for Garage filled with cards! Could you at least tell, how well it's perform?
P.S: Biggest Garage weakness - "US only shipping" :(
P.P.S: Customer service invade comment section - check below regarding shipping
Agreed
Was wondering the same.
It probably wouldn't do well because it's only magnets and can hold over 1000 cards or deck boxes. I'm very interested in buying the garage because I'm a commander player
I put my entire cube, in Cubeamajigs, with deck boxes for lands and tokens. It has physical overlapping lips in addition to the magnets, and it doesn't budge for the upsidedown test--from my humble experience testing it.
I'm also curious, but it looks like the company put at least some thought into that. At 12:32 you can see there is a ridge where the magnets are to help prevent from opening when you don't want it to. I don't know how much of a difference this actually makes, but I feel like it could be helpful.
There's something very satisfying about watching these reviews...
You forgot the most important decks box:
The Shoe Box
Lol
The best ever
@@nobleaichi_official Shoe boxes, old boxes of all kinds that is how I keep my collection of loose cards though I plan to one day get them into binders.
He has said in a video never to store them in a shoe box
@@RDMANGLEYT it's not the best idea but for some people it's the best option. Shoe boxes are free and are enough to keep your cards together. Obviously keep your expensive cards in a proper box but for commons it works good enough
Hey Professor been a fan for years now. And I have ALL my decks in Dragonshield and boulders or satin towers. And an Arkhive. You are the first and often only person I take my shopping tips from for my MTG gear. And the first referral I make to any of my friends doing the same. Thank you
Very good, but would have liked to see the Garage being turned upside down with cards inside it.
I’m also interested in knowing whether or not I could safely take the garage and stuff it down my backpack.
someone here said that it has, in addition to the magnets, physically overlapping lips and he also said that it holds perfectly
From a post a couple above you:
Hey all, it does not just have US shipping only, though international is likely a little pricey. HOWEVER... Blackfire is our partner designing this (it's our design expanding on the existing Legion/Blackfire convertible pieces) so it is available in Europe through any store that orders from Blackfire!
Re the shake test: I was sitting here watching this video saying DO THE SHAKE TEST! I don;t know why he didn't. It's kind of incredible. You can tell he's not shilling for us because he didn't talk about a couple features we are SUPER proud of! We designed that ridge along the edge to help hold it, that is a Legion piece of design/engineering. We developed it and added it to this box.
Another piece we wanted to see is wrapping the lid around under the bottom. You can take the lid off, turn it upside down and park the box on it. it takes up zero additional space on your table. the Beauty of the Convertible system! I'll get one of our garages here and load it up with some deckboxes and do the shake test for you and put it up tomorrow (have to have a few minutes to go make that video, I'll link it here once we get it done!)
He did say that only the Quiver passes the "jostle test", implying that the magnets on the Garage don't hold up to sudden movements or jerks.
I have been binging these , Im new to the channel and this is my first "Deck box review" and its Dragon shield MY favorite brand (thanks to you Prof). Your channel is amaizing and thank you for getting me into more TCGs and choosing the right stuff for it.
I was super excited about the Magic Carpet so much so I went and bought one before you posted a review. I just used it this weekend during prerelease and I have to say that while I agree with some of your comments, I believe the purpose of the product was missed.
It feels very much as though it were designed for folks that buy dragon shield products regularly and have a bunch of their paperboard boxes. The hard exterior shell from the playmat and the strong magnets create very secure protection for all your paperboard or thin boxes. For me it was perfect for prerelease because I could bring a few decks and tokens and still have ample room for my new cards. In fact I also became a focal point of jealousy from other players. My store has very narrow tables that will not support two full size playmates. Players simply drape the extra mat off the table, which does cramp your play space a bit. I didn’t have to worry about this because the playmat is rigid and I had ample room to play. The grippy exterior kept it firmly planted on the table and for me, the mat lies completely flat every time. The mat itself is water resistant and repels spills, so no concerns there, I recommend you try that out. Over all I am very happy with my purchase. I do have an ArkHive and the Carpet beats it hands down in my comparison in form and feel. However if you have a ton of boulders (pardon the pun) this product is not for you. For me it feels like a minimalist’s product, and I love it for that.
Monster Hydra correction
You said it holds 450 s-sleeved cards, but 5*75=375
Not that this would save the product in any way.
F
The problem with monster also is that they usually make products for yugioh cards, rather than generalizing their product for other ccgs and tcgs
bubb rubb What would be the difference between yugioh and Magic cards?
Also, I would give this product a solid D instead of a D-. One advantage that thin plastic has is that it's thin and lightweight. I got me some Ultimate Guard Twin Flip'n'Tray boxes, and while they are sturdy and practical, they do bulk out my backpack quite a bit. Probably not a big concern in the land of the car, but city dwellers and europeans do worry about that sort of thing.
@@Volkbrecht card size and durability, theres a reason why people put more money into better quality deckboxes for mtg cards over yugioh cards. Its also why you can fit your yugioh main, extra and side into a single deckbox compared to mtg which can barely fit a 60 card deck. The grade on the monster hydra doesnt change in my opinion, while i still love the 2 row plastic deckboxes for yugioh, i wouldnt want my higher value mtg deck in something with no reliable protection.
It’s like the Stanley “twelve” compartment organizer. He’s got poetic license.
Wow, the Legion Garage is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the vid, very helpful~
Great video Prof! I have a Quiver myself, and it's such a sturdy product to store all my cards!
I think there is something to be said of the dragonshield box being good for anyone looking to get a single, nice quality case for their decks without forking out 15-30 bucks over and over again for multiple nice deck boxes.
It also works well for what it is. It's a box to hold your cards, not deck boxes or play mats, cards.
I swear professor your so inspiring! It has been amazing seeing your channel and youtubing career grow over the years I am excited to see what this year brings! :D!!! I wish you success!!!!
Thanks Prof! This Garage is exactly the kind of product I was looking for, it is a perfect Commander toolbox.
Nice, i was looking for something like the quiver. Thanks Prof i ordered one directly.
Thank you for this review I was fixing to get the magic carpet but had questions you answered
Bought a Quiver when I first got into Magic, 6 months ago. Love it!
That Garage box looks BONKERS! Expensive perhaps, but I think it's going to make an excellent addition to my Pirate Lab carrying case when I want to bring my large setup of extra EDH decks, and playmats.
The audio/music at 7:00 is ridiculously pleasing to hear in surround 7.1 Dolby surround sound, as well as your voice ;) . I'd like to reiterate how please I always find myself to be with the quality of your videos Prof. Thank you and keep up the Great work
Awesome timing! I was looking to buy a deck box just yesterday haha, this will definitely come in handy, thanks a lot!
Thank you for this video. I love the Quiver idea. I think that is something that will be the best fit for me.
Great review. Might pick one up of this products in the future.
Dude great video.i like hearing a person's goal and watching them achieve it.
Hi Tolarian! Love all of your vids and your reviews are spot on!
This video couldn't be any more perfectly timed after last weekend prerelease I need to invest in a larger deck box. Thank you!
I await your video on the KCI ban. My expectation is 6 seconds of screaming happiness.

Seen your Review of the Quiver case and got one as soon as I could, Up till then I stored my cube in a cardboard game card box which worked but better suited for my modern collection. The Quiver contains the 450 card cube, Basics (which I included 17 Wastes, just in case they become more of a thing down the road) and a section is left for tokens, emblems and flip cards for players to use. This thing is just what I wanted and needed for travel and just keeping it safe. Thanks!
Hello there,
Thank you as well for your purchase!
For any queries/feedback/ideas, you have our full availability.
Happy #QuiverTime!
Hey Prof,
first of all: great Content . Thanks for all your work!
I was wondering if you could maybe consider making a Video on how to organise your Card Collection.
Since most of us players have tons of commons, uncommons and bulk rares, do you have a good way o keep track of your collection , how to sort & store them and how to find the one common, from a few sets ago, that u just can't find anymore in your shoebox filled with random cards.
I'd really appreaciate that.
Greeting from germany
He has a video on that! czcams.com/video/CBq-sXKj2UU/video.html
This might harder to find but a dewey decimal system cabinet that we would use as kids in the library is probably the greatest thing I invested in for sorting cards. Each drawer even has a holder for an index card to label it by the set, then I just alphabetize after that. Max amount I keep of each copy is 8
@@justinshupe4391 One of the best systems I've ever seen. I'd have one if only I had the space, but alas they remain in boxes.
He already has one from a few years ago. It's a pretty good system.
@@shadowliar6461 very nice. thank you !
I'm done with magnet closure anything. I was moving my dex protection from one car to another tonight, it fell open, and sent my standard deck, sideboard, and my regrettably unsleeved toolbox cards. I suffered at least 60$ in damages because of a 15$ deck box.
Demeter Singleton that sucks
I have the Quiver and I HIGHLY recommend it. It's an amazing carrying case for my out and back trip to the local card shop!
Bought it. A bit unfriendly putting them in if youre sensible with your cards.
I love using the pirate lab case with the hard blue foam insert
Great vid as always Prof! Thanks!!
Hey prof, you’re such a great person, I love your style and it’s beautiful that you are trying to live of your pation. Keep making videos, we never have enough
I already have all the deckboxes and sleeves i need. But for some reason I can't stop watching these videos, its got an ASMR relaxing feel
Quiver is a nice form factor for carrying deck boxes, but trying to get sleeved cards in there is a pain. The corners of sleeves catch on the inner fabric constantly. The movable dividers are velcro, so that rough cloth does not play well at all with them. I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of this when he's clearly struggling to get them into the case at the beginning of the Quiver segment.
If you box everything, though, it's pretty good.
Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Can I just say Prof that I love your outros? With the cheesey synth music and the "thanks to viewers like you" comments, it totally succeeds in hitting that sweet 90s PBS nostalgia. :-D
Great product placement of those playmats Prof
Thanks for your work Prof.! I hope that we'll see you at Game Knights again :)
I've got a Quiver to hold my Hero Realms cards and it's superb. Loads of space, very robust, and with some nice hard plastic dividers.
Welcome to the #QuiverTime family! :)
For any feedback/queries/ideas - we are open!
Happy Quiver Time!
thank you for this Tolarion, I am actually in the market for a new box for a cube, and had considered commissioning a carpenter until I saw this. Well done!
"Oh! But it also holds deck boxes. Which deck boxes? Yes."
Could not contain my laughter! 🤣
As someone who has an EDH Battlechest of (currently) 18 decks and counting, the Legion Blackfire looks veeeeery attractive
Duskraven377 you must have game nights with friends, all my friends are non tcg players so I’ve got tons of decks I like that I share on game nights. :( I just sling everything into a sack though
Philosophy Zone Yeah! I’m the designated MtG supplier during game nights with friends. I’ve worked to make sure all the decks in my battlechest are balanced against each other, so anyone can grab a commander of choice and play. We even play EDH planechase. Currently working on making a Pauper cube too, so maybe two Legion Blackfires are in order here...
Always great reviews!!! Great channel.
Yey more of these review videos. Have to say amazing quality videos, A+++.
Nice plug with the play mats. The DTR is my favourite one.
Thanks Prof :D
You're amazing!
What a great vid.... getting the garage and the quiver
These types of videos are the reason I subscribed to this channel and for a time the only reason I stayed.
I've had my first quiver for nearly a decade now and i love it ❤❤❤...easily my number 1 choice in deck cases
Still have my quiver from your original quiver video. Love this thing.
Fantastic Video as always
Whenever the track at 10:20 plays I can hear the professor saying "Delicious. Finally, some good fucking sleeves/deck boxes"
That's awesome! I literally just say the magic carpet on eBay and asked myself what the grade was! Thank you Professor!
Thank you again for these videos. Friend got the quiver a while back and was wondering if some deck boxes would fit. Said hold on one sec I'll take a look.
I personally like the magic carpet, I wanted something to hold all my decks and was excited about this product. It takes up less space in my bag now. I like it at least, kinda sad that you didnt give it a better review but you did point out the flaws of it and they are pretty big ones.
Nice comparation professor!!
I love the design of the Garage, but I also would like to see it get some more abuse and magnet tests, just to see how it holds up in travel and over time :]
Considering either the Quiver or that garage.
Thanks Professor!
Hello there,
We are REALLY happy you like our solution.
Happy Quiver Time!
So I'm looking to store all the prebuilt planeswalker decks in one place biggest thing I can find for price is the gift boxes wizards sells it can 15-18 decks based on how centered the middle insert is but I'm wonder is there a better option?
Just discovered you today because of Team APS.. I really love your reviews even though I’m a yugioh player. Your videos are so informative! : )
I wanted Ultimate Guard to make a bigger Arkive, basically like this. I house all my Commander Decks in Arkhives would like to combine them into one box. Prof, How many of those 100 Boulders can fit in there if you don't mind me asking? I saw a quick clip in the video where I see a yellow one in there, but was trying to scale it to figure it out..... Thanks and great video!!
Would like to know this, too! Slowly working on getting all my commander decks into Boulders and have been looking for a way to easily transport them like that!
Approximately 5 of them. 5 may be a really close fit. I don't have 5 though, to test.
Love that you're running around your office in your socks. You're just like the rest of us :P
Thanks. I have waited your pro review of dragon sheild magic carfet.
Awsome, definatively getting a garage!!
I love the Stanley compartment box recommended for it.
Been wanting that quiver for many years, just saw this video and now i know. 100% worth it.
I've been using a Quiver for about a year now and have been very happy with it. I couldn't help but notice that this video didn't say anything about how it works with playmats. It turns out that if you loosely roll a playmat you can tuck it in the mesh pocket in the lid and it will still zip closed, even when it's full of cards. You have to hold the lid down while you zip it so that the roll flattens out, but you don't have to press hard and it doesn't seem to have bothered my cards. This doesn't work with the thicker mats out there, but it does work with most ones I've seen. There's even room for a few commanders in top loaders in the pocket with it.
I really like the Dragon Shield Carpet design. The um...lid... carpet section? Seems like it would be a great Playmat, or card sorting surface. We all know how dirty those FNM tables can be. If the surface was felt, I'm sure it would be perfect. But these Dragon Shield boxes are such a pain to get around here. Like Ultimate Guard. But my local game stores started carrying Ultimate Gaurd because they, kinda had to because its what people where buying. Dragon Shield has something here. And with a little revision. It would be awesome! Let's hope they do. BUT It needs to be able to fit Ultimate Guard Boulders.
Oh sweet! The garage is perfect for my Silver Boarder Cube!
Beautiful. I need a deck box holder.
Hey! Thanks for another great video :)
i have the first deck box you reviewed and the magnets are strong, glued on well. I can fit monster deck box with the covers on them in mine and it closes fine. Paid 10$ CAD for it on amazon and i thought it was great.
As a relatively new Magic player (a few months), the best deck boxes I have are the boxes that come with booster bundles, but I hope to one day need a Quiver or a Garage.
Hey dude, just wondering how long or if you are still playing! Did you load up on on sweet boxes in the meantime?
Great vid prof
I hope you make your office goal soon. But dang, you have a pretty nice looking basement there lol
Great review prof! Anyone know how I can get my hands on a garage if I’m in Québec Canada?
Another good option is the piratelab case. They have different sizes. The one I have holds 12 100 count boulder boxes
My LGS got some Dragon Shiel Magic Carpets in. The display model has started to peel apart at the ends below the outer flap.
I'd love to hear your input on using a Stanley bin compartment organizer. I've heard it talked about as its very affordable and holds EDH decks in each compartment. Thanks!
Great idea!!!
Thanks for another great video, Professor. I'm glad to be a Patreon.
Another great review. Just became a patreon can't wait to get my signed card!
Love the Simpsons quote. That's from season 2 or 3! Deep!
The Quiver looks interesting. Combo Card/Camera Lens box. For when you bring your SLR to the Grand Prix.
I have the purple Quiver. So awesome. Though my Quiver didn't come with the zipper sleeve.
Hi professor, thanks for sharing how to store unopened boxes of masters sets. I also have tons of them ,and literally do not know where to put them in my room.
Loved that Simpson's reference!
Keep up the good work, prof.
Thanks for the review! What would u suggest between the garage and the arkhive 800+ for a cube (540 cards+ lands/tokens)?
I have a Ultra Pro sort of suitcase like case that hold allot of deck boxes and a bag of dice and a bag of counters, I also have this Chinese box with a handle, they are not the best but I just play casual and my cards are not the most expensive so they work well enough when bringing a selection of decks for game night.
The garage looks awesome for storing commander decks but if budget's an issue, for $60 you can buy roughly 4 KMC card barrier box 1000s to store 24 commander decks
My Dragon shield Carpet fits 4 100 card boulders pretty comfortably. I have to turn them sideways, but fit pretty well.
Oh man I really want to get a few of those Garage boxes
Which deck box would you suggest to hold a double sleeved EDH deck, as well as a case to hold 6 of deck boxes. Preferably the ability to hold a play mat as well but not of the greatest importance.
Thanks dawg almost got the Magic Carpet now I'll look for something else
Important to note that if you put loose cards in the Garage, they will inevitably bounce around a lot.
