I have a z flip 3 phone with a liquid screen protector that the store put on when I paid for the phone. Can the liquid screen protector be replaced?
Update January 3rd 2023: phone still working just fine.
Update February 13 2023: Still working great.
czcams.com/video/R6JSXrSgWME/video.html
video i made which uses the Z Flip, proof it works fine.
Update Jul 12 2023: Z Flip screen protector developing crease lines
Update Sep. 19 2023: seems to be a line developing down the middle, can't tell if its the screen protector or the actual glass.
Update Sept. 27 2023: the display turns off sometimes and I have to press the power button multiple times to get it to turn back on, might not be a screen protector problem, but it could be.
Thanks for the update right now my original protector just gave up on me and i was looking around for options and all of them fail with few days or weeks.
man, a july update lmao, didn't expect that coming. But yeah, generally it'll last for about 6 months or so. maybe even less if you live in hot and humid places.
Screen protectors just wear out. I had the 5G "zflip2" and depending on weather it lasted awhile or a month. The colder it is the quick the protector failed cause the elasticity of the plastic contracts and opening the phone causes it to break/fail.
I have flip 4 and just now I saw the crease got worried if I broke the screen but hush it's completely fine saw ur video thankyou so much def gonna replace the protector today
So this is happening to mine and honestly i was told it would break the phone if I tried to take if off... so I would like to just clarify that it is totally fine to take off the built in screen protector on the Samsung flip Z3
Yes, for me this was perfectly fine. I would get someone else to do it because some people have had issues after taking off the screen protector, but if you want to take the chance, go for it!
@@SLK_15 your a legend thank you I know with the older folds people took off the screen protector and it broke the screen so this is a huge help
@@SLK_15 what about z flip 4?
@@trashgamedev5730 should be the same
My screen protector cracked while i was waiting for the new one delivered so i removed it. Then my purcahse was cancelled so i was left without a protector and now few weeks later i can feel a little crack across the screen where it folds. It might be that you shouldn't use the phone without the protector and not that you can't replace it.
Thank you thank you thank you. Happy newyear x3
Happy new year!!!
Thank you so much! I just got this phone and after a month a crease began so I removed it, it became so much better!
Hey, is your phone still okay? Did you buy a new protector? Or just use your phone without it?
@@williamshakespeare9094 hey, the samsung z flip screen without a new screen protector is very fragile, that is why you need to remove the screen protector slowly when replacing it and gently adding a new one. So you need to use a new screen protector in order to use it without it breaking
@@yunalcve1388 okay, I will. Thank you
Thanks for this. I have an annoying crease on mine all the way across. This looks simple enough. Just ordered it.
How is it working for you?
@Raj Shah So far so good. It's been almost 5 months and no signs of a crease yet. It does have a bit of a matte finish, which I wasn't sure about at first, but I dont mind it at all. The install was super easy and the box comes with 2, so if this one does start to crease or get scratches I have one waiting. I would definatly recommend.
@@rayspooner1982 How did you order it can you send me the link?
😭
Where did you order it from?
Dude, you just saved my PHONE! TY!!! I was ready to get a new phone and give up on this ZFlip3 because the screen was delaminating at the fold. I just bought your recommended Aurmorsuit and followed your directions and my phone is like NEW AGAIN! I was so pissed off at Samsung for charging me $1k for a phone who's screen was just gross after about a year and a half. I used tweesers to remove the old one and sprayed the screen and protector and applied with the squeegee and my phone looks like it did brand new again. I wasn't going to ever buy another Samsung phone even though I loved all 3 devices I bought from them because of this screen but now I plan on using this device for another year and a half. CHEERS MATE!
PS: I used your link to buy it hopefully you get a commission from my purchase.
Nice! I'm glad it worked out for you!
Can you share the link please
@@jeanbeepulido7354 I posted it in one of the comments to this video, but incase you can't see it, here's the link: a.co/d/7vPcNjw
Thankd so much. I had read that only authorized shop could replace it
You're welcome! The reason why they say you need special support is to lower the risk of breaking your phone
Just remove the screen protector gently then live your life. It works fine without it. The screen is actually clearer without it. It will need replacing over and over again. The movement will always wear it out.
This is the right answer
If you look at your camera you will see that the screen protector the real one is still on the the thing that came off your phone is for shipping purposes and they come on every phone You're supposed to peel them off when you get it I still have the plastic on the border of my TV that I haven't peeled off yet🤣
@@Happydudegrows That is incorrect. The screen protector that is discussed in this video is supposed to be permanent, but due to repeated opening and closing of the phone it comes away at the hinge.
I would disagree but since the phone folds, the being closed is the screen protector. If the screen was rubbing my pocket, I get the new film
So I can remove it myself gently?
What spray you used?
Can u use the spray technique for every screen application or is ist specific for this protector only?
Came with the screen protector I think, and it's only for this screen protector
hi.
It's okay to do this on the Z flip 3 and the upcoming Z flip 4. Don't try this on your 2020 Galaxy Z flip.
Couldn't fit this into a youtube #shorts. So here's a 3 minute video.
100K. Thank you.
Hello! I want to buy z flip 5 but I'm a little concerned about this problem in the fold. The screen protector you're removing is the screen that comes with the phone itself, or is it a screen protector you can add after purcheasing the phone for extra protection?
The screen protector we removed is the screen protector that comes with the phone, not an extra protector we added after we purchased it.
In the video, we removed the protector that comes with the phone, and replaced it with a third party screen protector that you can see in the pinned comment. Hope that helps!
Question; my fold 4 screen protector just got the bubble in the middle, I have a inner screen protector that I never used but I guess my question is does it make the phone feel tighter to close or any extra resistance? I just don't want to damage the actual internal screen
I'm not understanding the question... Is it the protective layer on top of the screen protector that's peeling? Or the screen protector... I'm confused...
Has anyone else removed the protector? I'm about to rip mine off. Been like 5 months of it entirely bubbled and even cracked in the middle. Haven't closed this phone in months...
I've seen some galaxy z flips (3,4) work without the protector, peel it off carefully!
Okay dumb question as a i have a Z flip 3 and just wanted to ask does it actually have two screen protectors on it as ive taken the screen protector off mine and is still looks like one is on it.
Sorry for the late reply, CZcams doesn't send me notifications anymore :/
No, there is not a screen protector under the top protective layer
Does the screen protector needs to be changed from time to time for z flip 4?
No, but I don't recommend doing it unless you really know what you're doing. You can go to a repair store and have them do it if you want your screen protector to be changed.
How can i avoid having bubbles on the crease. I installed the same one on mine and it was peeling on the crease after I fold it.
I'm very sorry for replying late, but did you add more of the liquid? 😬
@@SLK_15 hi!! No worries! Apparently in instructions I shouldn't suppose to fold it right away after installing. So I reinstalled mine, sprayed more of the solution, and now it's been perfect for a month now without peeling. Kudos for the screen protector recommendation!!!
Doesnt removing screen protector void warranty?, so i've read on threads about samsung z3 crease issues
Removing the factory protector does not void warranty.
I have heard about the crease issues though, my friend's Z Flip 4 broke from the crease, but my Z Flip 3 doesn't seem to have that issue yet even with the third party screen protector installed.
I have changed original gaurd to Matte membrane, evertime I fold and unflip my flip4, the air comes near crease area...😒
Did you apply it correctly? Did you use enough liquid?
@@SLK_15 yes I use wet and dry wipes both before apply. But Still having the same issue.
@@lordof_goodness did you let all the bubbles out and let it sit around for some time after applying before using the phone again?

can i just remove my screen protector on my flip 3 and not replace it...can i just leave it off?
Yes, but it might scratch.
@@SLK_15 awesome I just took it off it looks great thank you!!
@@SLK_15 Its mostly closed so should be fine I guess, just gotta be little careful
Let us know how you get on with this, interested to see how it fairs without a protector. Why do they always crack 😡 on to my 3rd replacement screen now
@@chrisjohnson3906 it works fine in fact even better....after researching more there's a ton of people that remove on Day 1
So I see that mine has one on it already out of the box? I literally just took it out of the box brand new as I post this. Do I remove the pre-installed one? Or do I even need to use the screen protector that I purchased since it seems to come with one already installed on it new? Do I just leave the preinstalled one on it and apply another protector over it? I'm so confused. I'm scared I'm going to ruin my phone before I even use it, lol ? (-_-)ゞ ?
My head hurt reading this lol 😂
Yes, you take off the pre installed screen protector on your Galaxy Z flip *carefully please.* (Or get someone to do it for you) and install the new screen protector without the pre installed screen protector on. 👍

I saw some Amazon reviews saying a crease or small line started to form across the fold; its understandable but I was wondering if you've experienced this yet? Maybe they just did the installation awkwardly? lol
Amazon reviews on the phone or the screen protector in the video?
I bought one his recommended screen protectors and my Zflip3 looks new again. Samsung wanted $400 to replace the protector SMH it's $11 ffs.
Can the screen protector be the cause of the screen not turning on when you open it? Or is this a sensor or software thing 🤔 anyone else noticed it lately? What can it be? Dust in the hinge?
It might be a software thing, the display doesn't turn on, but touch input is recognized by the display. For other viewers reading this, this is a very rare thing. (Can be fixed by pressing the power button twice)
Yeah that works, it shuts it off then i use the fingerprint sensor to turn it on. Annoying none the less..
Once i tried spamming the powerbutton but that called the police.. did a count down while the screen was still black and i didn't get the chance to abort 🤣
How can I replace the bezel? Mine started coming off recently
Bezel? The plastic part on the edge of the display?
If that part is coming off you might want to get that seen by someone professional and not try and replace it yourself
Hey so i wanted to replace my zflip 4's screen protector with a privacy screen. The one my phone came with is totally fine just want to replace it so would it be okay for me to take it off?? Also can i do this on my own because i dont think i can trust anyone with my zflip
I've taken off and replaced the screen protector on the Galaxy Z Flip 3, just be very careful with it. I'm not saying you should, but you could, so make a wise choice ;) You can do it on your own yes just be very very careful. Any weird twist can maybe break the phone
@Sean Kim what do you mean by weird twists? :P

@@Truesk8er1 if you have Samsung Care+ I don't think you should worry about that. I think the Z flips come with a one time screen replacement if anything goes wrong.
@@SLK_15 is that with or without samsung care?

Is this screen protector comes with the phone or you apply it your self
There's already a screen protector that comes with the phone out of the box. We just replaced the screen protector because the pre installed one had issues.
@@SLK_15 should i buy this phone i love it but i need a phone that last three years heavily use every day but i will be extra careful
@@Roman_Reigns01269 you should get the flip 4. The phone after a couple months of usage is really good and battery life lasts all day for me. The snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip should make the bigger battery last longer and get you through heavy usage.

Let us see if the screen still works until a week later from the day that you replaced your screen protector. From what Samsung says the screen protector is made of the screen.
After changing the screen protector, the phone works perfectly fine! I don't recommend just taking it off and using it though as it may cause problems.
Well what one did use and where did get it?
I got it brand new from Samsung about a year ago. (Samsung.com)
The one I have is the Z flip 3.
It should work for both Z flip 3 and Z flip 4.
Don't do it if you have the original Z flip (the one with the small cover screen)

@@Truesk8er1 yes they did for FREE 😁 they gave me option of having it shipped to Samsung or I could go to closest Samsung repair shop which was through Asurion which actually did a good job there is a tiny tiny speck of dust but other than that brand new.
How well has this screen protector held up?
Display is starting to turn off while the rest of the phone is on, but I heard that happens to people even if they have the original protector.
The screen protector we installed in the video is now developing some crease lines which are a little bit more visible in my most recent Z Foldable video.
@@SLK_15 Thank you for the reply. Yea I hear this is quite common on these type of phones unfortunately. Sounds like the screen protector held up well tho
Do not buy the z fold3 because the central screen breaks and the Samsung warranty does not cover it, saying that it is the customer's fault and washing your hands as possible
Bit late to the party but I vouch for this having a nightmare with Samsung support and safe to say I’m never going to own a Samsung again once I finish my a flip 3 contract because this has been shocking!
How do i know if mine has a screen protector or not
If you bought a Z Flip (brand new) you should see a plastic layer on top of the "Ultra thin glass". That is the screen protector, and that is the one we replaced
Can you add the link to buy the screen protector that you use pls.
