I'm betting it's going to reveal and release relatively early in the year. Like a February reveal with a July release date for a first major wave of launch sales. This way, Nintendo can catch a second major wave of sales during the holiday season in November/December. The reveal trailer/lineup will coincide with the February/Spring Direct window and then we'll get a number of smaller single-game focused directs from now until just after post-launch, with a second major Direct in September. Metroid Prime 4 will be the launch game and Mario's next 3D adventure will be the holiday title.
August or September just feels like the proper time. Although depending on how high end they are going it will be interesting to see what third party games will be included for the first year. If it's coming out then you also have to take that into consideration as that will impact the possibility of it getting leaked by them before Nintendo is ready.
Hope the next Nintendo has backward compatibility for Switch games.
@@SoundSelectionMistress What do you mean the Switch flashcard?
Current Switch used OLD 2015 NON CUSTOMISED SOC and still got so many good games. Imagine NEWER CUSTOMISED SOC inside a Switch 2 can do ❤❤❤🤤🤤🤤
@@SoundSelectionMistressthat's rumour only
@@a.jthomas6132rumour. You can see in Famiboards forum in next Switch technology section
Just coming in for the lineups for next year!
Since the Switch was and is still successful, they will definitely not rush this out. I have two theories. They will reveal the new console before Pokemon Day so GameFreak can announce a Pokemon launch title afterwards on the Pokemon Presents. Or they will announce the console in late summer with the usual holiday release.
If that were the case they'd have real games still planned for this thing still. The new system can sell concurrently with regular switch. Doesn't really work the way you are suggesting.
I'm hoping that it has built in buttons (like the steam deck) and can be bought with a dock + pro controller or by itself. Nintendo could do that and retain backwards compatibility with the joycons for stuff like switch sports.
1:22 i believe Nintendo Switch sucessor will be teased on the april/may shareholders meeting, have a blowout on june/july and launch on early fall/holiday(septembre/octobre), with a new open 3D sandbox Mario and Metriod Prime 4 as it launch titles
*Mario Open World
Reveal between May & July. On a Marketing point of view, you have to wait at least 3 months after Christmas
I think the closest we will get too a Switch Advance (what I like to call it) will be a teaser trailer for a new game (like a new Paper Mario) that comes out later this year. That is the closest for the first few directs. In fact I personally think it won't be till around June before the official reveal trailer. Before that the most we will get is maybe a teaser for the system and some of these games. As for the actual release date I like the idea of is releasing around October.
Speculation is good and all but once we get concrete proof from Nintendo themselves then we could see a reveal.
I'm expecting a reveal in March, presentation in June, and release in August/September
Based on something or just to risk disappointment? :p
Nice video!
I would call it Nintendo NeXt (because it has the NX in it from the first Switch project name) 😊
4:19 My prediction is that they'll have a Nintendo Switch focused Nintendo Direct in February then they'll reveal the Nintendo Switch 2 on it's own in March. They'll also maybe tease "a new Nintendo experience coming later this year" at the end of the February Direct. I also predict that they'll reveal the Nintendo Switch 2's release date in their June Nintendo Direct. I was originally predicting that it would come out in November 2024 though I'm now predicting it will come out in September just before or after their September Nintendo Direct so they could have it released before the 2024 US presidential election.
Current Switch used OLD 2015 NON CUSTOMISED SOC and still got so many good games. Imagine NEWER CUSTOMISED SOC inside a Switch 2 can do ❤❤❤🤤🤤🤤
Actually SONIC FORCES was the GAME that actually indicated Switch's existence back then it was cancelled "NX" or "Project NX"..
It'll be revealed in february and launch around April.
Even the Xbox 360 only lasted 8 years. I feel that what will justify my purchase of the Switch 2 will be the specs, games to expect and backward compatibility/Virtual Console
Good job!!
I hope it has two microSD ports not just one. Backwards Switch cartridge and pro controller compatibility. Patches for past Switch ports for 60fps at 4K docked. DLSS. Same eshop as the old Switch. I want a Switch that’s beefed up.
I'm thinking more of a November release for the Christmas rush, but generally towards the end of the year. March 2025 at the latest, depends on whatever the concept they are going with is out of R&D. There currently hasn't been any factory production leaks as of yet so I still think the end of 2024 at the earliest for release.
We can all hope I'm sure. They usually have a direct every January or February anyway
June or August seems likely, very doubtful for next month and February way to soon also might hurt sales for their upcoming first party games during the first and second quarter of the year.
It wouldnt hurt sales if the Switch 2 was announced to be backwards compatible. Also the switch is gaining even more revenue from software sales than hardware at the moment. So many people already own a Switch.
I can't wait for the reveal. But I have high hope Nintendo will release a dock for switch that would help with running some of the current titles because performance is key. I've experienced so many dropped frame rates and stutters on the console. Games that were once supported like smite can't even run on the console anymore. Something needs to happen.
Dock does nothing And can't change anything why do people think that
pre-ordering instantly if theres an OLED model that can play my switch 1 games at 1080p portably, hopefully at least with a 1080p+ 120hz Display.
Can't wait for the Virtual Boy U or whatever the next console is called!
Still hoping this next iteration doesn't have a rocky start. The eventual name and whether it's backwards compatible or not concerns me still.
I'm not concerned about the name. I think Nintendo's learned their lesson about naming new consoles after their previous.
..........(Wii U.........
What makes most sense to me know is pretty much no news about it untilna big summer reveal with a september release
All I’m really hoping for is it being named the ‘Super Nintendo Switch’ and allowing older controllers/joy cons to pair with it 😌
My brother in law is friends with some people in the industry.
Of course take this with a grain of salt, but the Switch 2 will be playing games at 60 fps with 4k resolution. Expect it around Christmas next year.
My perfect scenario would be:
January Direct - Announce FE Remake, A couple smaller games, some indies and third party ports (20 minutes)
February Direct - Announce the Switch 2 in 4 minute trailer showing off new games and ports like they did with the original switch, your Marios, Smash deluxe, Fifa, Elden ring etc...
March Switch 2 Presentation - All out showcase
Hoping for a traditional home console or at least a dock that really beefs up the switch 2.
3:25 i found it very unlikely Nintendo would anounce it next hardware next month, they still need to market Princess Peach Showtime, march or in the april/may shareholders meeting/report, is more likely to Nintendo at least tease Switch sucessor
Exactly holiday 2025 is when they'll likely reveal something new console related!
I'm still speculating a reveal will happen around May or June 2024, followed by a release window around October-November 2024. After all, both the Wii and Wii U launched in November 2006 and 2012, respectively. Sure, the Switch launched in March 2017, but it's possible that was because of how badly Nintendo needed a system to replace the Wii U. With the Switch being more successful, they can likely afford to wait until next year's holiday season to release the successor.
I really hope it isn’t a dual screen as this would make even more large and chunky than it already is the reason the DS consoles are so portable is because they are small and compact for example I can take my 3DS on a bus journey and carry it in my pocket but with the switch it’s impossible you have to take it in a case which means you have to carry it around with you all day hopefully you don’t lose it or get it stolen from you this could be really bad in the case of a “Switch 2” which costs around about £500 Nintendo should play it safe similar design to the OLED, all the good graphics, smoother frame rates because they don’t want the successor to their best selling console to be in the same category as the WII U 0:38 0:38 0:38 0:38 0:38
June if coming next holidays, Septenmber if early 2025
it feels like they will likely show it on the annual first direct of the year they always do February
Will the Amiibo figures worked on the Nintendo Switch 2?
Good question, my guess is yes since it is just an NFC chip.
@@commonwealthrealm If true then it’s great news for everyone.
While I may not have Breath of the Wild champions, I have figures of TOTK Ganondorf, TOTK Link and Wolf Link.
I would be super excited about a spiritual successor to the Wii. The Wii/DS and WiiU/3DS era was peak Nintendo and I would love to see a return to the vibe Nintendo had during those years
Hopefully we will see switch 2 sooner than later 🙏
Just to say you don't have to but you might want to update the pokemon timeline with the indigo disc and the till mask being released last year from now And I bet as much as other people are waiting to hear your interpretation of teropagos
They will most likely handle the reveal and release of the next console differently than the the Switch, the Switch being more successful than the Wii U.
A revealing in January with more in depth look in April and it goes on sale in September.
I'm still saying early 2025 with a reveal in late 2024
with that in mind, I'm feeling 2024's probably gonna be a port-heavy year while they bide their time for the next console
I'm taking anything switch 2 related information and future Nintendo related games information like a grain of salt 🧂 people.
Heck I'm early, I'm never this early. 😳
I Just Need NINTENDO to announce it and backwoods compatible with my og switch
Lol not happening (unfortunately). Most likely in March or April around the time of their annual report. If we don't hear anything even then then I'll be kinda pissed, the Switch is really obsolete by this point. I've been playing We Love Katamari these last few days, great game, but even THAT has framerate drops, pop-ins and long loading times with those incredibly simplistic graphics, its time that Nintendo leaves those days behind already.
We Love Katamari's problems have NOTHING to do with the Switch Hardware.
Bandai Namco keeps rushing Switch ports.
Only thing I agree with what you said is that nintendo needs to release a new console. The switch been pass its due date, I agree. That thing keeps selling though lol. Nintendo doesn't want to wait too long to release something.
@user-be3qc7re9o yeah just saying. People who are saying such things dont know what they are talking about.
Nintendo is fine where they are as many high end games they miss can come later as selling points as a portable machine.
@@SAsaiyajin
Tell someone that graduated in computer science and is specialized in software development that he has "no idea what he's talking about" 😂. It IS a Switch issue, the PS4 version has none of the problems I mentioned and Namco didn't treat the PS4 version any different than the Switch version, the PS4 has just more raw power. But create your own narrative in your mind to explain yourself the world in a way it makes sense to you if that makes you happy.
@@The_Ostrich Please get of your high horse, how do you explain Alien Isolation then?
Its proven to be running better on the Switch than on PS4, Digital Foundry did a video about as well and looks way more complex than 'We Love Ketamari'.
But hey your so called degree definitely seems to help for your bias...
And if it doesn't happen, you change your name to Mike Zeroh right? 😂
Switch 2 maybe be revealed at Nintendo driect
#TeamFebruary
i just want to see the spec of the console. if it has 12 GB rams i will be surprise.
According to the nvidia hack information (and nvidia leaks after that)
It has 12-16 of ram
They have sold over 15 million consoles just in the current quarter that isn’t over until march 2024. Then each one of those consoles sells a bunch of games too. No real reason for them to rush out another console. As long as we are getting games like TOTK and RDR I am a happy camper 😃
I would appreciate if people stopped talking about unannounced stuff even if your right your spoiling the way Nintendo wants to show it
With so many possiblity the big N will surly bring it all together. I’m a 49 yr old gamer & fan boy since day one. And still show my support to Nintendo 😎👍🏼👍🏼
Considering how well the switch is still selling and how they've regularly reiterated that they have no plans to reveal any new hardware until after the 2023 fiscal year in Japan and their support of the switch for up to 10 years or so. As well given we have major remakes in 2025 for the switch with the thousand year door, I don't see then talking about anything new till 2025! They will likely wait till switch sales reach near 50% to reveal anything! And yes they probably have something already fine tuned and working but they are likely waiting for a better time to reveal it rather than cannibalize the switch with a new switch console!
Switch U is just around the corner.
10:38 and you actually say nothing of any note 😂🤦🏻♂️
When Is This Happing
Sometime in the first half of 2024, but it is a little complicated hence the video ;)
Let's face it the steam deck is the benchmark that the switch 2 must completely beat.
Not at all, that would be neat but that's relevant to a more niche audience. The Steam Deck has been around for a while and it didn't exactly make a dent in the Switch's sales...
@@mkjjoe You do understand what a benchmark is right?
It's basically your competition and what the consumer expects you to do better.
When the switch came out it had no competition on the portable market other than mobile phones as the steamdeck was not even a designed let alone a concept.
Sure you could say its competition was sony playstation and microsoft xbox but the thing is the switch was primarily designed as a portable console first and foremost thus the limitations applied to it thus it is not designed to be a competitor to them but rather enter a market that those computers are not part of.
Now the steamdeck is out and shown to be the superior handheld with its capability of 4k and high processing power it litterely suppasses the switch in every conceivable way. Sure the switch has exclusives but a exclusive will only fetch so many customers even people have said they would pick the steamdeck over the switch anyday.
Even with the other new handhelds like ROG still is roughly the same power as the steam deck hence why its the benchmark that nintendo must beat the thing is though is the steamdeck came out in 2022 feb so its coming close to its 2nd year birthday that means the switch has 2 years advantage over the steamdeck when it comes to technology.
As for sales that is because people already had a switch and had no real incentive to get a steam deck but as time as gone on people have been buying the steam deck more and more its even had issues with stock recently as the models keep getting sold out.
As i said before the reason the switch was doing so well on sales when it first came out was because it had no direct competition other then mobile phones.
I hope TOTK gets a next gen exclusive DLC
There's too much of Botw DLC stuff out there, (Totk was meant to be a dlc, it is a "big dlc"). I hope they are now working 100% on the next big Zelda, with the freedom of Botw and the epicness/slight realism of OOT ! :)
It's January where is it.
I honestly think switch 4 U would be a good name because it would bring back a lot of Wii u vibes but hopefully it'll be something that's even more successor and far more powerful than the original Wii u including bringing back dual screen function
Nope .
It isnt in Feb Direct either. If they dont sit on it the reveal time will land around Fathers day week and when school is out. Release is between week 4 of aug to week 4 of sept.
Nintendo will stay mid card quite right now. Their q4 makes them allot of money jan feb march. They will stay pretty tite lipped except for a couple minor things in q1. That is their april may june period.
I think the "problem" is the switch is the top selling console right now, they have zero incentive to roll out a successor
It's been slowing down for a while, Nintendo won't wait for sales to be terrible to announce what's next. Rumors are still only that though, people keep saying it's coming so eventually they'll be right.
All Nintendo needs to do is release on PC maybe after the console release. It'd cut down on piracy a lot.
All of these companies keep putting out new consoles when there is no significant increase in the technology to warrant or justify doing so. Until these consoles project lifelike holograms, from this point, they have absolutely no reason trying to sell us anything new.
Almost guaranteed : the only thing that will change as they will have upscaled the graphics and process power a tiny bit, allowing for more NPCs and more background detail. Nothing significant enough to warrant making everyone spend $500 for a new console to play whatever new uninspired game they're going to try to make us buy next.
"It's not dlc" rings in my mind. I backed them on that and totk ended up being worse than dlc, as limited dlc would have more packed into it to justify the purchase.
And again, it's all about greed and money - not about art or creating stories that will instill a sense of honor, justice, equality, and morality into the people playing.
I'm disappointed in everyone
Sheesh that's a lot of gloom... I see it the other way: they packed leftovers in a still significant game (despite big flaws) to finish this console's lifecycle. A lot of time on TOTK was optimizing so it doesn't break, and it ran mostly fine but an imperfect 30fps 900p. In a way I'm glad they were conceptually done with it a while ago, so they can focus early on the next one on the new console. We know nothing of the next big 3D Mario or Metroid Prime 4. Add a couple gimmicks for some games and QoL improvements. Release ports/remasters to show how pretty it can get, even a performance patch for TOTK. A big innovative title at release, a good lineup and here we go again.
Game freak like Nintendo Switch 2
2025
I don't even gotta watch the vid to shut this down. Usually a Direct in Fab or March. Def not Jan. Sorry.
I can see it happening if Nintendo repeats the same way they unveiled the Switch. But we gave no reason to believe that will happen. Zero evidence at all.
That’s the whole point of a speculation. It’s to address rumors and put our own theory on what evidence we do have.
Nintendo will make a new system in about 6 more years. And the PS3 will still have better graphics
Not happening
First ❤
The person who edited much of the video everyone!
2025 fall
2027*
GTA 6 is NOT happening day one on switch 2. Don’t even start that.
Nintendo is still selling way too many Switches at incredible margins to release a new console next year.
So maybe _January 2025?_
It's canceled
it's likely to be a dud with no value and no significant upgrades and will only be used as a scam to steal money from people, like totk ended up being - a meaningless cashgrab
Not gonna happen
How do you know that.
