Marilyn wasn't a big star when she made this, and so was only paid $10k for the movie, even though she was the blonde. Jane Russell, who was already a star, got paid $100k. Also, Marilyn did her own singing. Thanks for the post!
@@uikmnhj4me I’m sorry about that. Her life felt so sad, I’d expect people to learn from her life and ask questions like “what exactly happened to her when she died”. Every time I see her I really feel hurt for her and think there is more to what she faced in Hollywood. The oversexualization of Marilyn was too much in a time where people where more conservative. I feel disgusted by the men then who were at least adults but were acting as dogs. The “white” comment wasn’t meant to be racist. My sincere apologies again

Marni Nixon did the first part
Marni Nixon did the singing for the operatic styled opening piece, but Marilyn did the rest of the singing
10k was hella money back then too … especially for someone who wasn’t big around that time
I love this movie so much 😭❤💞💐.
I love having this on my playlist at work watching people’s reactions going from this to Dolly Parton to something dancey by Madonna lol
Was the Madonna song Material Girl?

I appreciate the history of Marilyn but I don’t see why whites are so obsessed about her! It’s not even that serious 😂
This woman story was tragic
She was an iconic cultural figure for many people. Idk why you’re making it a race thing
