this explains how caleb plant improved his knock training by following his new trainer's advice
Doc, I’ve been following you for two years or more.. I’m telling you man, you make complicated things into abcs!! Appreciate you🙏🏿
It was intentional but not for that reason. CZcams is age restricting more of my videos lately got being ‘too violent’ I guess. It squashes the video in the algorithm so if I can avoid showing the actual face distorting punch it’s more likely to not get blocked :/
@@BrianSuttererMD Wow that’s sad. You’re providing free quality education, youtube gotta wake up.

This man doesn't disappoint.. Comes out with breakdown video faster than Amazon Prime delivery..
And it’s free delivery too
No doubt, I was like no way this guy already edited a whole video of a breakdown already lol
Prime delivery doesn't make breakdown videos
Amazon Brian
Absolutely not. He's always on point with these breakdowns. I only wish he did some analysis on leg kicks. I feel like Alex's checks and him returning his own leg kicks were key to slowing down Israel.
I love how Pireira's arm is basically a perfect anatomical model itself- skin and all. Makes the analysis easier.
Quickest doctor ever. CRAZY
Sometimes not in the way his woman would want 😆😉
Doctor are crazy fast once they get the full situation. In this case, there's a video of the fight so yeah. That's why you should never lie to your doctor, they need facts.
This is the first thing I noticed about his hook it is so damn compact for such a big person.. the way he throws it the way it’s positioned and last the power. Truly crazy and physically gifted this guy is
As someone who works in radiology, it's always fun to watch vids like this remind me of my roots. Glad you talked about his delts because people don't think about it being a factor during punches.
Am sure those in MMA learn of kinetic chain.
Something that always stands out in your videos is your passion not only for medicine but for sport. Keep it up brother
Great content! It would be cool if you made a video about cutting weight. Pereira gained about 35lbs in 36 hours between weigh in and the fight. Would love to hear your take on it!
@- he made a video the morning of the fight and he weighed 218 lbs ( 33lb added ) & he had another 12 hours to put more on.
Insane! You could tell watching the whole fight that Pereira seemed massive compared to Adesanya, similar to a size advantage that Jan had over him. This is one critically important detail of the fight which cannot be overlooked.
Think about how much of a weight advantage Ngannou had over Miocic in the second fight and how much weight Tyson Fury had over Wilder (I know boxing is a different sport, though weight is an advantage when it comes to elite fighters - hence weight divisions)
He definitely had head movement like those guys in Mortal Kombat right before they say FINISH HIMMM! 😂
This guy really should have his own channel, ON TV. So interesting, one of the few things I bother to watch on YT. Congrats Doctor, you're the bomb!
And I wish you were my GP!!
You realize you are watching him on his own channel that can be on your TV?
This is Doc's way of expressing his excitement for Alex's win. Im so pumped for the matchups that can be made tbh. Just don't let Khamzat near him, anyone that can wrestle is dangerous for Pereira, especially someone like him. That's a 1st round finish.
Clearly a dive rematches sells more & it's literally nobody else but Alex at middleweight. does it take Francis getting ko in the 5th for people to believe🤔
I wanna see it so bad lol
Pereira was 220 fight night and shredded. Your acting like Khamzat could rag doll him.
Izzy was winning 3-1 and almost got him in Round 1 then the LEFT HOOK FROM HELL.
That ending to rnd 1 was almost a wrap
this doctor is a true fight fan
A lot of doctors work for the UFC
A lot if doctors are needed at the UFC.
As a sciences based gym rat, talking about all these upper-body muscles made me happy
I never knew I gave a shit about any of this. I'm now hoping we get to see these after every UFC card. Thanks Dr B!
I finally feel like those A&P courses I took in college to fulfill bio requirements came in handy in helping me not feel overwhelmed haha.
It is crazy to see how much you can breakdown the punch and get it so we understand beyond generic wisdom that announcers give us.
AnaPhys 🥰
Congrats Alex 🎉
The question is, is he really this fast with his patients lol
His wife told me he's faster than the Flash
@@wjbt3 Nah bro💀
@@wjbt3 quick thinking saying "his wife" so tell me where did you and the good doctor meet up?
he’s got a kid , and he’s mentioned his wife before 🤣
Thanks for breaking this down, Doc! Such a great learning.
Another piece of gold! Very educational (as usual). Thanks, Doctor!
Some say he’s faster than the speed of light…
That was great! Thank you! 👊
Love this type of break down, would love to see more if you ever get the chance.
The left hook 🔥🔥🔥
Best video yet and they are all great, keep up the good work doc
Wow. I never knew the anatomy of a punch. You should publish this. 👏 work doc. Perhaps we can have some randomized clinical trials on this phenomenon.
Wow that was quick. Great video 👍
This was an excellent breakdown that i didn’t know I needed
Amazing! The body is such an incredible instrument. I'd reeeeeally love to see a breakdown of the mechanics of the most common kicks in MMA. Although it requires the entire body, I think the way hip rotation is used to generate speed and power is particularly interesting.
Tell Shelby to call me back
More knockout anatomy videos please. These are sweet
Im utterly shocked that this man doesn't have a bigger following. His content is so good and he seems exyremely knowledgeable. Been here since the beginning.
Bigger following? He has almost 3/4 of a million at the moment wdym 😭
God damn he is quick
Thanks for the quick class.
As a subscriber of at least one year I would suggest you do more videos like this
Great breakdown as always
I loved this! Thank you very much!
Great content . wish you the best !
Your videos make me want to go back to school😅 u rock dude
an amazing video!! really enjoyed it hope you will do more of those stuff in the future😉
Very cool breakdown, thanks!
Ong this channel is easily top 15, incredible and fast content
Izzy apparently hurt his feet with some kicks/checks from Pereira. Breakdown please
Great job Doc!
Awesome video
Trunk and lower extremities are propelling that stiff as rock arm/fist at his chin. Pretty brutal consequences when you make any tiny misstep at the higher levels. Periera has some real power, but it's lucky for him he got fast tracked and didn't have to worry about a wrestler so soon in his UFC run.
he was no knocked out, he immediately contested the referee for stopping the fight he recovered from being stunned
Pretty cool video Dr.!
Brilliant!
Let’s go Pereira!
Damn Dr. Brian is quick af
You got this up fast
DO ONE ABOUT CHANDLERS NOSE!! Love the vids Doc! Great work!
Liked this type of video
Nice breakdown of the best left hook in kickboxing history very interesting
Cool motion analysis of the KO 👨⚕
Thank you! Really enjoyed the anatomy side and where the power is generated from.

You should be focusing on the leg check earlier in the round Doc. Izzy himself claims it kept him off balance, something about a nerve getting pinched/receiving trauma. And I can buy that. You don't necessarily want to be anywhere in the Octagon vs. Alex Pereira, but certainly not defensive against the cage in the late rounds, risking massive hooks landing. Yet that is exactly where he went and basically remained after that checked kick and involuntary back somersault. I would like to know from a medical professional if there is anything to that explanation from Adesanya.
Izzy isn’t taking the lost well. The pinches nerve is just his excuse as to why he lost balance when he caught.
Your tuff!!!
We called that a tight technical hook baby. Perreiras core must be insanely strong to whip that hook the way he does. Should be noted that Izzy got hurt by a right band prior to this
Thanks for the upload so fast! You got my subscription🤙🏼 I own imaging centers in Az and Tx would love to collaborate!
so you saying.. he hits hard lol... awesome vid
Isn't that the Naruto dude? He always acting like a badass and he got slapped lol 😆
Thank you.
Pereira hits hard
You always watchout out for his sneaky left hook 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just watch the ads cause this dude is all in, always!
Doc had this video out before Glover Texiera made it into the cage!
It’s a good thing no one was injured.
First video I ever watched was the video about dead legs after hitting that one nerve in your calves crazy he’s come this far😂😂😂
Damn if u don’t respond that’s shitty cuz I’m a real one you couldn’t even pull 1 thousand views wen I became a fan😂😂😂
Lol I appreciate the support :)
can you do an anatomy video of whatever the hell was that red blob that fell from michael chandler's nose onto poor dustin? and what goes into forming that blob?
Izzy has sorta hinted at a medical condition that is the cause of his gynecomastia and has sort of hinted at it being as a result of some cancer and made statements about people missing him when he’s gone, do you think this is something to worry about for that condition
Hi doc, what sports medicine book are you reading?
Banger as usual Doc, How come in MMA and Boxing we don’t see as many Fencing Responses like we did with Tua? Is this an indicator of worse Brain damage and injury for examples like Tua or from back in the day Joshua Cribs from the Browns?
I think you do see it more often in fighting than nfl. But you need to research you cant just go off of how what you remember. But i could be since i did no research
@@samuranga8537 Feel u bro, I just feel like when ive seen guys hit the ground in Ufc ive seen them stiff as a board but i cant recall ever seeing some visual signs with the hands or feet
the tape of highlights from early mma ( like 1-4 or so) had a lot of the fencing responses . i only remember a few from the nfl
@@peterf.229 Damn bro idk i guess its selective memory from my standpoint, I guess i must be more shocked by them in football so i tend to remember them. I was really young maybe 6-7 but I remember watching live when Joshua Cribbs got hit so hard on a punt return that his hands spazzed out before his body could even turn off.
damn that was fast
This was extremely fascinating! Thank you!
Thanks! My son is a nurse, and my daughter is headed to medical school. This helps immeasurably to keep the conversation off politics :)
Got any merch?
I know this guy will be a global star
Do a breakdown on the leg kicks which lead to Adesanya's TKO.
The leg kick didn’t lead to it. He got caught and his lights were basically out.
Thanks Doc for getting Pereira’s name right. Names usually aren’t a big deal for me, but for some reason Rogan and the other announcers kept fucking it up and saying it 5 different ways when it’s not hard at all. Doc even rolled his r’s decently. Well done, sir.
+1 sub 👏👏🤘
Good day Doctor, how about anatomy from shaving cut, you had one on your right lower lip.
maybe the ff:
shaving cut
razor burn
razor bumps
ingrown from shaving
I wish you would have these conversations on the Pat McAfee show.
Finally a public figure talking about biomechanics and not godgiven power! Some people just happen to unconsciously develop more efficient movement without necessarily being more genetically gifted than their peers and the more we understand this the more we can improve. Thank you Brian Sutterer for contributing into our conscious development.
looks like its the same knockout pattern by Pacman to Hatton years ago
Can u talk about Amine Harit (footballer for marseille french league) injury next, please.
Alex Pereira is the perfect example to use for the hook, as he shuts everyone's lights out with it
You should do a video on what makes natural punching power. Like, how Terrance Mckinney has a touch of death but mateusz gamrot is pretty average
this is the first time i see someone who isn't from brazil pronounce his name the right way
Great stoppage. He was open, imagine if Pereira would hit him with another one of those left hooks from hell or a crazy knee like in his debut. The power between him and Izzy are just different, izzy is great but he aint got the power like Pereira and Pereira is very tough when it comes to chin. People talk much about his striking which is understable because it is not human to hit as hard as this. But he also has a great chin and been showing that in kickboxing alot before and he kept going against Izzy even if he did those nasty sounding legkicks. It was like he didnt feel them that much. Great win for alex, very happy for Alex
Looks like a fight deja vue
I think we'll have a better look at these muscles if we use your arm muscles as example ;)
He released this video almost right after it happened.
Alex pereira is a real life Sagat
Anyone knows what software he’s using showing and removing those muscles?
I learned something new latissiymus dorthy, it's humorous with isolated contractions 😅😊.
The only time I enjoy being a Sport Science student
i'd to see some stuff about climbing.
LATINOS UNIDOS LATINOS THE STRONGEST: Excellent performance by two fearless and well conditioned GLADIATOR'S
Congratulations 👏 to Alex Pereira
