R.I.P. Burt Reynolds, Charles Nelson Reilly, Dom DeLuise, Judith Barsi and Vic Tayback (the voices of Charlie B. Barkin, Killer, Itchy Itchiford, Anne-Marie and Carface Carruthers).
Thank you so much for this post. I grew up with this movie with my little sister, we used to dance and re-enact every seen verbatim with the lines, and so you can only imagine the emotional attachment. I was already traumatized knowing Judith's story, and then as time went on, the main cast among others passing on. I miss them all. Thank you for your tribute
@@ubu6420 yeah I heard about Judith’s story about her father busting a cap on his own daughter cause of being jealous over her success. Judith was a sweet little girl, she didn’t deserve that, if I had three wishes I would use one of them for a time machine so I can go back and prevent that death.
I liked Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise they were great actors rest their souls.
Omg lol Reilly's my name!😁 but yes true
@Chris Smalls Just realizing this now too. Damn. This is the only movie I had in VHS when I was a kid.
I like the part where Charlie tells Anne-Marie bedtime stories, while Itchy doesn't believe that a guy named Robin Hood steals money to give to the poor and doesn't keep any of the fortune. Anne-Marie would later tell Kate and Harold that she lives and sleeps in a junkyard with her dog Charlie. Which makes Kate and Harold horrified to learn of the terrible situation of the little orphan girl.

Still better than her stuck with Carface though.

Yeah I know but it's funny when you think about it
I always laugh at the face that Charlie makes when she snuggles up with him😂
Charlie: So Robinhood says to Little John, this sheriff is a real bimbo. LOL! I lose it when Charlie says that.
this movie was rated G btw
The actors and actresses especially Judith Barsi will live on in our hearts including mine
It's even more sad if you understand that Judith was sleeping forever.
Poor girl.. poor angel..
She passed before the movie was finished/ released. Don Bluth took her passing hard and actually made Ann Marie look like her to memorialize her. The movie even ends with in memory of Judith. So tragic.
Anne marie doesent look like Judith at all😅 so i think thats fake or dident work as planned. But ducky is as cute and adorable as Judith @@jaccat4336
2:01 Awwww. Anne-Marie accepts charlie as her best friend but charlie doesn't care. Hes just using the girl although he does change and genuinely likes her then. But If I was charlie, I would care about her from the beginning & actually help her find a new mom & dad & make her dream come true. And In the meantime, I'd be her best friend. I would make her so happy 😁 Plus, I would try to b patient with Anne Marie when we're both trying to sleep. The kid must've had a tough time living with carface.
Charlie was trying to hide his soft side
If Anne-Marie could be one spirit animal, it would be a Tuxedo kitten.
I view things like this, Charlie wanted to use her a bit like Carface did, but he wanted an even flow of money, money going out of his establishment, as well as money going in, where as Carface wanted it one way, going in and not out, Charlie is the greedy selfless proprietor that most casinos need, and Charlie I think just wanted to get off the ground, have his business at a stable point where money was flowing in and out at a healthy rate and then get Anne Marie into a forever home with parents who love her, while Carface only wanted to use her for the rest of her life, ironically, all Carface's problems happened when he had Charlie set up on death row, had he just shared the profits 50/50, they would both be millionaires and moreover, Carface wouldn't be tormented in hell currently.

Bet that would fit her own angel form if she became an angel in Heaven in All Dogs Go To Heaven.

Itchy: Sorry Charlie.
Charlie: Anywho... . Rescuing Anne Marie was a cinch. Then came the real scary part:

Charlie: Parenthood.
Anne Marie: Charlie? Charlie!?
Charlie: zzzz huh what?
Anne marie: I gotta go

Wow All Dogs Go To Heaven is remastered and in widescreen.
The character of Charlie was actually created specifically for Burt Reynolds
I don't think Don Bluth made another character as adorable as Anne-Marie.

Exactly Charlie did the right thing by getting her away from there even if he was doing it for himself but still better him than Carface I would've done the same thing too plus it's at least better than living with Carface and his goons since she was kept locked in the little room.

It's my first time knowing about Heaven and Hell.
Cute scene
I really wish Anne-Marie was in the series. Perhaps as David's grandmother. By then she'd be in her 60s. She would have also loved to have met Sasha.
Unfortunately because of Judith’s tragic situation, out of respect they decided not to include the character in anything else or recast her, this film was dedicated to her memory…
They should've just mentioned about what happened to her character all those years later, given closure to her character's story, say she had a family with kids of her own and was a successful model or clothes designer. (I think one of those two career paths would be perfect for Anne Marie)
@@SWyrick366All we know is that Itchy was with her all that time. If Ann Marie was in trouble or dead Itchy would have mentioned it. So we can assume she had good live which cannot be said about her voice actor

I'm sure Charlie Sasha and David had contacted Annabelle and Charlie asked her about Anne Marie and how she was doing and if she was still alive.

The animation is nostalgic.
This hood guy is out 50 percent lol 🤣
In the first film, he starts off roguish, somewhat hotheaded, and baleful (but not as malicious as Carface) and is not well known for doing much good deeds, but because he is a dog (since dogs are naturally good and loyal like what Annabelle said before), he was allowed access to heaven. But he doesn't mean harm as he has been shown to have a very caring, compassionate side in the first place, and compared to Carface, Charlie was more of a pleaser and was proven to be quite popular amongst the other dogs, an example of when Charlie returned to the casino after getting away from the pound, it is hinted by the other casino goers that Charlie ran the casino better than Carface, giving everyone what they wanted and gained more popularity and success than Carface after running his own newly-built casino. Also, spending the day with Anne-Marie made him begin to warm up a lot more, even going far as to sacrifice his own life for hers. Towards the end of the first film, with the sacrifice of his life made, he returns to Anne-Marie with his last farewells with a personality fully channeled and developed into the heart of a father mostly due to his great care for her.
I still love this movie.
Nice work cast
I’m amazed that so many comments didn’t notice about the changes of the movie and the characters.
Yes, Charlie is selfish and used the girl as a tool for success.
But, When the movie had progressed, Anne Marie Pointed out to Charlie that he stole the wallet and he was doing wrong, giving him what he had never felt before, guilt. That was a kickstarted for Charlie’s character development, even when he still manipulated, he wasn’t used to affection and he wasn’t raised right to begin with about what love is until his sacrifice. The little girl started off as a tool, but ended up being the moral compass in Charlie’s life. Thanks to her innocence, selflessness forgiveness, and genuine character, Charlie had sacrifice his life for hers. Shows that the power of influence can change ones heart.
Now Go to Sleep Lol 😂 Charlie Kept Telling Anne-Marie That And Carface Says I’m Surrounded by Morons 😂

And even if he did use the same thing Carface did on Anne Marie it's at least better than her still being with Carface.
Since Charlie is more angelic and a pleaser.
@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 yes, true. I like this movie from my early childhood memories in the 2000s era after I was born on September 23rd, 1997
Nice scene!
In the first film, all Charlie originally cared about was Anne-Marie being his money maker, with her amazing gift to talk to animals, only wanting to use her much like Carface did. However, being the con artist he was, he wanted to gain her trust first by appearing like a Robin Hood figure in her eyes, stating he rescued her from Carface and only gambles to "give money to the poor". Unlike Carface, he was more than willing to give her anything she wanted and to keep her happy as long as he got what he wanted out of her.
However, the more time Charlie spent with her, the more caring he became of her, affectionately calling her "squeaker."
Near the end of the film, he willingly sacrificed his life to save her from the burning casino ship. By the time they exchanged goodbyes, their union is as strong as a father-daughter's relationship. He even promised her they will meet again someday. As Charlie is a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, he could not help but treat Anne-Marie the way he was bred to, which is love and protect her with his life. This is probably because his breed was to guard flocks of sheep and other livestock from getting hurt from predators. This specific duty came to him when he bonded with Anne-Marie, which is why he became fiercely loving of her like a dog-owner companionship.
*Don’s Auto Wreckers in All Dogs Go To Heaven? No wonder the film was made by the animator because there was an Easter egg fact*
