Hey...i too gone through compulsory national service like 3 month lockin camp for intense basic military training or a weekend guard duty or 4d3n military exercise or even a month overseas in camp training are gruelling enough...those yesteryears or my youth like many 18 yo guys have gone through that....unlike nowadays guys gals may choose that as a career....so 21 days in that sense has a different level challenge individually..the freedom factor i should say

I really like your video. I feel the spirit of "quarantine fighter" since i have been doing 3x14 days quarantine during 1 year of pandemic (business trip and going home). It was mentally exhausted but I can feel you when the stewardess said "welcome home" as I always cry like baby when I am back home. Have fun in Singapore ^^
Yes Life should be just simple .....we all start off simple and carefree but along the way we picked up so many things that we think we need and burden ourselves and become so laden and could not move fast and feel trapped.

I agree with you about mental freedom. I arrived in SG 3 days ago and despite having 18 more days of quarantine, I feel free - free from the stresses and anxiety of preparing the requirements for travel and the uncertainty of whether I'll be able to fly out or not. It has affected me physically; I had minor anxiety attacks and acid reflux because of it, but now I slowly feel that I am getting better. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reflections in the video. I hope I also get to reflect during this time, in between work and naps 😅 Enjoy your physical freedom in SG! 😁

I engaged an Indonesian maid and her stay was extended another 7 days......I did not pay for $1,200 for extended stay...... Could check it out with MOH and get refund!

This Covid 19 is affecting everybody and business as well. The extension of quarantine to 21 days is very much a situational basis and basically good for all concerned. But you took it well and positively though it is tough financially. Wish you do well in Singapore.

I guess you come back immediately once the VTL opened for the main countries. As such a lot of the rules are still formulating they travel restrictions and each country was considering what each other country steps would take. I think September was the earliest VTL happened so sure a lot of things were still beta stage. Nothing concrete restrictions changing all the time. The grand Hyatt is undergoing major renovation. I think before Christmas should be ready. It's a renowned japanese designer - strictland. Same as waku ghin

So sorry to hear the extension of quarantine. Yes,it's a need for people who travel here to do that from passing the infection to locals. But to inform and extend in the last minute is really not acceptable. I hope the authorities can show more compassionate and more competent in this case.

In view of the govt's policy to loosen the measures the last couple of months, the 7 days which were added on last min was really unfair to you. And i am surprised at the poor state of the Grand Hyatt Hotel (shown in another video) and food limitations. On the other hand, I've been on such quarantines a few times since the pandemic, and I realised the per day cost is quite ok for a 5 star hotel. They also were quite nice when I requested for extra tea and coffee sachets. And one had a coffee machine. Lastly, so sorry you did not have a phone card. If your friend had bought and sent a prepaid card for you, a lot of the food issues would be taken care of. Love your positive attitude tho!
recently i wanted to go overseas and the sg gov told me -- when i return to sg -- i must be quarantine in sg hotel for 21days for $3000+ and so i decided not to go, not worth !
Hi Koala, it is great to know you are back and safe. What if you are infected elsewhere while travelling so often. Yes, it is really unfair for you to be be asked to be quaranteened for another week after having completed your 14th days of earlier requirement for travelling overseas. It was next to be already at home in Singapore! The pandamic will get worse unless all governments cooperate to stringently control the variant viruses which know no borders and possess no passports.

The hotel industry here is not affected as badly as the airlines industry. The government gave each singaporeans $100 SingapoRediscover voucher which can be used for hotel staycations, entry to places of interests or activities to boost local tourism
As a Singaporean, I do share some of your views on minimalism. I also don’t watch TV, can get by on hawker food and simple coffee or tea daily, but I’m curious to know: What if there had been no Internet or wifi connection during your 21-day quarantine, would you have been able to survive on pure minimalism? I know i probably couldn’t, just being honest with myself.
Don't think its fair for you to be paying the additional 7 days.. but Singapore is experiencing a huge breakout in the community hence the extra caution is necessary.
It is not often that I watch a video twice.But I had to look at this twice.a very interesting philosophy that you haveI've checked. How much stuff I need to survive, but I can't make it in three suitcases. But I think all my stuff can go in a very small van.

First n foremost, the extension was imperative n rightfully so...BUT, for you and others to pay additional 1.2k, the authority, SHOULD, out of goodwill subsidise the amount or better still, waive the additional charges cuz' the agreement was 14 days. You n others, would have reconsidered reschedule ur plans coming to SG at a later date. Well, different countries administer their regulations in their accordance, it was unfortunate, u where caught in an unfavourable situation. Through your testament in sharing your train of thoughts and personal survival of the quarantine, m sure many of your viewers can or will benefit from it immensely. I feel that they should waive off the amount of the extra 7 days. That means you should just pay for the 14 days instead as you were only informed on the day of your checking out. If you have known the 21 days quarantine and chose to come back, then it’s right for you to pay for full amount. Anyway, no one wants and expects the COVID-19 to drag on for so long. Jiayou!

I can imagine how frustrating it is for you. Hope everything goes smoothly from here on. I will be freaking furious with: 1. Very very last minute notice. 2. Having to pay additional $$$ for hotel stay. 3. Demand the government to foot the remaining bills. 4. Go scream at somebody, anybody.
To be honest as a Singaporean I feel that if u choose to come back to Singapore during this period, you should be ready for any changes in your plans. Yes I feel that it's fair that u pay for the extended stay as this is the only way we can keep our country safe. Thank you for your understanding.
I know those with clinical depression will be able to handle quarantines very well (provided that cost is not an issue). But, I suspect everyone else, myself included, is likely to bitch about it (even if cost is not an issue) if what happened to you happens to us. So, you really have done amazingly.
@@TheKrazyKoala According to studies, social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic can lead to depression. So, logically (haha), those who are already depressed should be fine or can handled isolation better since they do not have much else to adjust to, till the tolerable threshold for them is surpassed (which is often more than 14 days). Yet, I am talking about clinical depression here. This group of people, by nature of the illness, prefers to be isolated (not this its good for them).

Hi KK, I engage an Indonesian maid for taking care my aging mother, she extended her stay for another 7 days but I did not pay extra $1,200. You need to check with Ministry of Health and get a refund!.....and I don't think it fair for you
@@TheKrazyKoala the maid agency did told me to standby $1200 for another 7 days before her discharge. But on the discharge day on 18 May, I pick her up at the maid agency, the agent told me the 7 days extended day amount is waived......

I guess you come back immediately once the VTL opened for the main countries. As such a lot of the rules are still formulating they travel restrictions and each country was considering what each other country steps would take.
I think September was the earliest VTL happened so sure a lot of things were still beta stage. Nothing concrete restrictions changing all the time.
The grand Hyatt is undergoing major renovation. I think before Christmas should be ready. It's a renowned japanese designer - strictland. Same as waku ghin

In view of the govt's policy to loosen the measures the last couple of months, the 7 days which were added on last min was really unfair to you. And i am surprised at the poor state of the Grand Hyatt Hotel (shown in another video) and food limitations. On the other hand, I've been on such quarantines a few times since the pandemic, and I realised the per day cost is quite ok for a 5 star hotel. They also were quite nice when I requested for extra tea and coffee sachets. And one had a coffee machine. Lastly, so sorry you did not have a phone card. If your friend had bought and sent a prepaid card for you, a lot of the food issues would be taken care of. Love your positive attitude tho!
recently i wanted to go overseas and the sg gov told me -- when i return to sg -- i must be quarantine in sg hotel for 21days for $3000+ and so i decided not to go, not worth !

Hi Koala, it is great to know you are back and safe. What if you are infected elsewhere while travelling so often. Yes, it is really unfair for you to be be asked to be quaranteened for another week after having completed your 14th days of earlier requirement for travelling overseas. It was next to be already at home in Singapore! The pandamic will get worse unless all governments cooperate to stringently control the variant viruses which know no borders and possess no passports.

The hotel industry here is not affected as badly as the airlines industry. The government gave each singaporeans $100 SingapoRediscover voucher which can be used for hotel staycations, entry to places of interests or activities to boost local tourism

I also don’t watch TV, can get by on hawker food and simple coffee or tea daily, but I’m curious to know: What if there had been no Internet or wifi connection during your 21-day quarantine, would you have been able to survive on pure minimalism? I know i probably couldn’t, just being honest with myself.

Don't think its fair for you to be paying the additional 7 days.. but Singapore is experiencing a huge breakout in the community hence the extra caution is necessary.

First n foremost, the extension was imperative n rightfully so...BUT, for you and others to pay additional 1.2k, the authority, SHOULD, out of goodwill subsidise the amount or better still, waive the additional charges cuz' the agreement was 14 days. You n others, would have reconsidered reschedule ur plans coming to SG at a later date.
Well, different countries administer their regulations in their accordance, it was unfortunate, u where caught in an unfavourable situation.
Through your testament in sharing your train of thoughts and personal survival of the quarantine, m sure many of your viewers can or will benefit from it immensely.

I feel that they should waive off the amount of the extra 7 days. That means you should just pay for the 14 days instead as you were only informed on the day of your checking out. If you have known the 21 days quarantine and chose to come back, then it’s right for you to pay for full amount. Anyway, no one wants and expects the COVID-19 to drag on for so long. Jiayou!

I know those with clinical depression will be able to handle quarantines very well (provided that cost is not an issue). But, I suspect everyone else, myself included, is likely to bitch about it (even if cost is not an issue) if what happened to you happens to us. So, you really have done amazingly.

According to studies, social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic can lead to depression.
So, logically (haha), those who are already depressed should be fine or can handled isolation better since they do not have much else to adjust to, till the tolerable threshold for them is surpassed (which is often more than 14 days).
Yet, I am talking about clinical depression here. This group of people, by nature of the illness, prefers to be isolated (not this its good for them).

Hi KK, I engage an Indonesian maid for taking care my aging mother, she extended her stay for another 7 days but I did not pay extra $1,200. You need to check with Ministry of Health and get a refund!.....and I don't think it fair for you
