A two-in-one washer/dryer seems like a dream. I’m disabled and transferring from a top-load washer to a front-load dryer is a hassle for me, so the idea of just loading one load and having to only go through the process once would be amazing. Really hoping that this technology progresses.

exactly this. I'm disabled and also have ADHD, so I always forget to swap them over and have to rewash them all the time. Had my eye on the 4.2 LG for YEARS, but we still haven't been able to buy a house yet. Now it's sold out everywhere near us including hubby's work where we wld have gotten a massive discount. So disappointed.

Thank you so much. After reading several reviews focused on the drying cycle issues, watching your review was like a breath of fresh air. It is practically impossible to spend time in the UK or Western Europe without using an all-in-one washer dryer and I fell in love with the concept. For me, you, and I dare say most Europeans, there are so many more pros than cons when it comes to purchasing these babies over the standard washer dryer setups.

For the rattling noise, unscrew the four big silver bolts from the back. The rattling noise will stop. They are there for transport purposes to keep the drum from spinning. Remove them and save them for when you move out.
I already checked the transport bolts, as many people in the comments here have suggested, they have already been removed.
I’ve had this washer/dryer for 2 months & I love it.
For the rattling, put it on a rubber Mat to reduce vibration directly to the floor
Thank you. That was interesting. In our condo, we can't have vented dryers. It's an old building and the wiring couldn't handle it. We bought a stackable washer and heat pump dryer. It takes longer to do a load. But I love my washer and dryer. I did my research and am very happy with the brand I chose. Our clothes come out really clean. It does take longer to dry clothes than using a vented dryer. But it is so much preferable than having to use the laundry room in the basement. The water from the dryer goes down a hose into the drain, so I don't have to empty a compartment. If I didn't have room for a stackable washer and dryer, I would have a combo like you do.
Glad you enjoyed it Anne! I am actually dealing with a bed bug infestation right now (video to come soon) and this is the first time I had to go to a laundromat. I would have been here for years doing one small load at a time. The industrial size (and being able to use 4 machines at once) definitely helped in this particular situation.

I'm thinking of buying something like this for an RV and was planning to put it on rubber mounts that are typically used for the outside component of a split system air conditioner. If you have room to raise your machine up, rubber feet would help with the vibration.
I live in a yurt and need a small footprint solution. I got one and plugged it in for first time today. Just testing dry function as well has not been hooked up to yurt yet. too much rain. thank you for video and the comments from owners of this unit. Best part was someone custom ordered it then never picked it up. got it for 300$ brand new
I’ve had a washer dryer combo unit for four years. It broke 16 months ago, and I had to repair it which cost 200 bucks… It finally broke again, two weeks ago for the last time in the beginning the first year, I thought it was a dream, even though it took forever to dry my clothes, but I just ordered a regular Toploader washing machine and dryer And I’m really excited for it for me personally, it’s been a nightmare these last few years lol but I’m glad it worked for you

It is! Like she says, it takes longer, but if you’re disabled, any kinda lifting difficulty, it’s you’re dream… front loading and not transferring wet laundry is awesome!

Cool review, I was gonna get the LG model but it has gone up from 2,000 to 2,500 in last yr. GE at 1,500 is intriguing. The only thing I'm concerned about is capacity. So washing a load, does it have a feature to stop once damp or (Ex. your winter blanket, does it just spin until it is finally dry)? If not i do have some dry lines, one outside and in my hallway. So i should be good. Also how many days for you to fill a full load? Thanks for your time!
Hey there! The settings will determine the dry time, 1 hour or up to 3 hours. It won't detect dryness. Like I said in the video, I run the machine every other week.
Thanks for the video. Did you remove the shipping bolts from the machine during installation? If they are not removed, the machine causes lots of vibration and could also damage the drum.

I purchased this washer & dryer combo and still waiting for it to arrive. I’m in a condo, second floor. I’m kind of scared that it’ll make a lot of noise while it’s spinning. I’m not supposed to have a washer inside my unit but this is very convenient for me not to have. I’m also nervous about the washer and the AC running together. I hope I don’t have any issues with it 🤞🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for posting this - very helpful. The rattling and noise could be a deal breaker- we live above someone and don't want to cause friction...have you found a way to reduce the noise?
Nope, still have not. I just live with it. It only lasts for 15 minutes or so
Don't know if you could do this now anymore, but have you seen those dense foam interlocking mats? Look kinda like puzzle pieces. If you line the floor with that and then place the unit back on it, might help with the vibration issue

I used to be an appliance repair tech, but I've never worked on one of these machines. I had a couple questions...
1) If it is a dryer, it does blow hot air on your clothes, but the water/steam is collected as condensate, and pumped away like the wash water. Does it feel like the room gets hot while the drying cycle is running?
2) There's a few styles of ventless dryers, which use either a heater or heat pump, to dry. Does the drying cycle sound like a refrigerator is running?
3) It is NOT supposed to rattle during the spin cycle. Either the shocks are worn out, or the shipping bolts were not removed during insulation. If you move the inner drum, are you able to freely bounce it up and down?
These are very specific questions!
1) Yes, it's in a closet and the closet does get hot when it's done running.
2) My refrigerator is very quiet so I would definitely say it's louder than a refrigerator, but like isn't every washing machine?
3) I can confirm there are no shipping bolts on the machine. Yes, the drum bounces around if I push on it.

When I was asking about the comparison to a refrigerator, I was inquiring if it actually "sounds" like a refrigerator. There are dryers that use "heat pumps" which are in actuality, just like a refrigerator ie. had a compressor, condenser, and evaporator, but utilizes the Heat instead of the Cold. But, being that your closet gets hot, it seems like your unit uses a modified hair dryer to dry your clothes.
If your unit bounces really easily, then the shocks are probably dead. 🤣. Just like a car, they do need to be regularly replaced, and your washer is likely gone beyond the "60,000 miles".
@@mb7hl hmm would those need to be replaced like every year? I'm only a 1 person household and have only been living here for a year, and also the vibrating was a problem since the very first use when the machine was brand new.

You can’t fill it up, like a wash machine. You have to fill it like a cloths dryer. Mine has a timer, so if I’m gonna be gone 10 hours, I can set it to start 5hours before I get home, and it’s clean and dry, still warm, when I get home…
It runs on 110v and cold water. Inside, it heats the water to the desired temperature, for the wash, and to dry, it heats the dry air, pushes it into the drum, let’s the dry air absorb water, then exchanges the wet air for dry air. The wet air is compressed. When you compress air, it can’t hold as much water, and you have dry air, ready to go back in…
So yea… keep that in mind, and take your blankets to a laundry mat, and any wash machine’s life will triple… they beat the hell out of your machine.

We have the exact unit. Have you found that sometimes it will will say x minutes remaining for a significantly longer amount of time? And sometimes it won't dry at all.
Maybe we got the lemon? It's been about two years with the machine now.

If you use dryer after the wash, does the inside of the machine completely dries out? Does this drying help with mold issues found in the front load washers?
There is sometimes some humidity (steam) left in the machine when the cycle is complete. I just leave the door open when it's not in use. I have never had any problems with mold with this unit.
at around 1:40, you mentioned storing your clothes in the washing machine instead of a hamper - i was thinking of doing that as well but when i googled if it was alright, the results were a resounding "no" because of mold, mildew, bacteria, etc.

Nope, not at all! You just have to keep the door cracked open unless you're using it. I will say though that the air in my house is pretty dry so it might be different depending on the climate you live in and the ventilation in your house.
I used to do that with my socks and underwear and undershirts, but after it was washed and dried.
Great video. Does it make a lot of noise and huge vibration while spinning? I live in apartment and kinda worried about disturb my neighbor.
Yes it does! Only for about 10 minutes out of the 3 hours though during the end of the washing cycle. It'll disturb you more than your neighbor 😆
I live in apartment and every unit has this combo. I can hear next doors but it’s not bad. I try to only fill it up to slightly over halfway. It’s only loud when I put more than that in.
Just installed this unit after watching your review a few weeks ago (you should get affaliate link)
My frist two cycles started saying it would take 3 hours . However, both took way longer . The load was like 2/3 full.
Has that happened to you? Do you think using just cold water decreases total time? Which setting(s) do you use so that it only takes the 3 hours?

Honestly I don't know why this is such a concern for many of the people commenting on this video... I just turn on the washing machine while I'm working, whenever it's done it's done. I'm never in a rush to have my laundry done. Sorry, I know that answer is not helpful for you, but I don't see why it's such an inconvenience for people eagerly waiting for their pants to dry 😅
Hi- did you have to install a special drain-says has to be capable of draining 9gal. a min...? I'm hoping I can drain it into my kitchen sink. Also wondering about the trap/drain - does the water just come out from there? Saw another video and water went all over the floor... also love your expression "hey my dudes". Thank you :)

I have this and the best solution I have for the drain is to get an IKEA mud room floor mat with the little lip.
Is it possible to wash only in this machine? Or to pause to remove things that need to air dry?

Can I ask about the water usage? I have an RCA washer and it needs to pour into the toilet to drain. It drains a lot, and yours holds the water without draining for a few weeks? I think I'm missing something but I wanted to ask. Also benice to replace my squeaky magic chef dryer as well
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question. Yes, I drain it about once a month.
@@CasaDuroTinyHome oh sorry. Was curious about if it uses the same water between washes. I only have experience with a washer I had to attach to my sink. Can you load water into it and go through say two or three washes and dry cycles
@@orangetiki I don't load water into the washer, it is connected to my water line just like a tap. It doesn't reuse water between washes.
would it faster if you run wash and dry separately?
Nope, the independent wash & dry settings add up to the same amount of time. You could take some items out after the wash to hang dry, and run the "timed dry" setting which is minimum 30 minutes.
Hello, Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same issue, the machine wont spin or fully turn off, just saying "faulty lid switch" and door locked? I did turn off the power to the machine for 5 min but it still getting same message.

Hi and thank you SO much for this review!! Please... did I get it right that your model does not have a special removable lint filter/lint trap, the one that standalone dryers seem to have? I've been racking my brain like hell trying to determine whether a combo model with no separate lint filter is an OK choice since there are few combo models WITH it and they typically cost three times as much as the plain ones... :< I've heard that all of that damp lint keeps collecting somewhere inside the machine and starts smelling like an old moldy rag sooner or later, and that sometimes, if there's too much of that lint, the machine can even stop drying clothes effectively. Would you please be able to share your experience with this?
Hey there! Everything I know about how to empty the lint is shown in this video. I don't do any other maintenance. I've had this machine for a little over a year now, and I've never noticed a weird smell or issues with drying.
I'm an absolute newb, probably moving into a small apartment. I'm assuming then you just add the water?
You need a water line in, septic line out & electrical. It was installed by the builder of my house so I can't really advise you on that part, that's as much as I know. I would reference the instructions from the manufacturer

Returning our unit since it takes 2 extra hours to dry. Nice size just doesn't work as described. Back to a traditional two piece setup.

I hate it. It takes forever to wash and I'm glad I kept my dryer. I would give it away if it wasn't so expensive. I might sell it for half if I could. I'm on the phone the right now trying to return it they won't take it back because of "buyer's remorse" I could see it being ok if you lived in an apartment and didn't mind how long the wash time took.
Only benefit is its small not having to have 2 machines. It does take longer to dry and it also can smell funny like an electrical burn smell is the best way I can describe it. I had a whirlpool one and iam a single guy. The machine only lasted 3 years before I was told they can't repair it because they no longer make the part for the machine which was the user interface. Can't say I would recommend these machines. There to complicated to last.

The part where you're like "half to 2/3rds full" is ideal - I love this. This is a mistake people make with regular washers and dryers! I'm serious. I have watched kinda passively at multiple friends' houses how they do laundry (I'm just chilling with them on a chores day) and they all just STUFF the washer. Like. How do you think that's going to get clean? There's no where for the water to go or your clothes to move. They can't agitate effectively. It's not a magic "get clean box". 😅
Also, keeping the door propped open to dry - Yes! Everyone should be doing this to prevent funk smell. My only word of caution about leaving the washer open but slowly loading it up with dirty clothes: please don't do this if you have pets or kids that can get in. I literally had a friend who washed their kitten to death because they threw dirty laundry in as it got dirty, left the lid open, and didn't check before running a cycle. After this tragedy, I came to find out multiple people I know have done this! 😭
It sounds like you really read the User's Guide/Manual for your washer-dryer combo. Lots of people don't but should. Then they blame their appliances for their own user error. Thank you for such a great review!
A little late to the game here but I have a question. Do you or anyone here know how much water this uses?
The reason is part of why I am considering this in the first place. I am on a not particularly productive well. On any particular day I have about 200 or so gallons available. The 3+ hour cycle time for me seems like a feature, not a bug because it would prevent me from doing enough loads at any one time to run the well dry.
I have an approx 1 gallon per minute replenishment rate so to be on the safe side on the rare occasion I have run it dry I like to wait at least a half hour before I even do something like flush the toilet.
On a side note I used to have one of those touch faucets that is at least until the cat figured that one out. Nothing like getting up to a waterless house, in serious need of coffee, only to find the cat sitting on the counter tapping away at the faucet trying to figure out why water doesn't come out any longer.
That is hilarious about the cat at the touch faucet! 🤣 Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question! But I would reach out to the manufacturer, they should probably be able to tell you that?

My landlord gave me this after i was used to a washer dryer double stacked unit for 4 years, now im bending over and breaking my back because its so low, like literally the height of a toilet for every cycle, and it takes twice as long because you cant dry and wash simultaneously, and it doesnt even heat the clothes for a dry, it just “spins”. Since i didnt pay for it i cant complain, well actually my rent covers it so fuck that

I usually start it in the morning and by my lunch break it's done. I don't even really think about how long it takes, I guess because I work from home? I'm never in a rush to get laundry done

Not sure why any single people or even couples need a dryer, rather than simply hang to dry their clothes? A dryer is probably the biggest energy suck after your air conditioner
I don't have enough room in my home for a clothes line, and in my climate I could not use an outdoor clothes line for at least half the year. Especially when I'm washing my bedding, those collapsible racks are not big enough to hang my sheets & blankets dry. So I think this machine is a good alternative.
Just reading the previous thread. I’m a plumber as well. The excess shaking could be from the appliance not sitting on a flat and level surface when it was first installed. The only other reason for the shaking that I can think of would be an unbalanced load. Also, I have seen people dry their clothes on the line outside in sub-zero weather when it’s sunny. The winter air is usually dry.
