    I have the 2311 compact and was honestly completely shocked with how awesome it is. My personal slide to frame fit feels as tight as a Les Baer and my trigger is perfectly crisp and light. I thought there would be some compromise with it but I haven’t found any yet. It took about 150 rounds to break in reliably (the extractor was a bit tight) and has been 100% reliable since. They really did an excellent job with these and I’m a big fan. I only wish the compact had the wider thumb safety and I wish it were single sided because this is a carry gun. But that’s my only critique.

    Regarding the grip: is your natural point of aim different on the 2311? I find any 1911/2011 without an arched MSH results in me pointing low from the draw and I have to consciously adapt. It's the only platform that does this, whereas something like a CZ points naturally. That arched backstrap really does wonders and I was hoping the 2311 points just as well. (Although given that, I'm planning a DWX next instead....)

    2311 is a sweet pistol . I do love the fact that it uses P320 Mags but I'll agree the P is smoother . More than likely smoother because if what you stated . I'll have to agree with that because I came to the same conclusion . It's nothing that cant be worked thru .
    In curious if CZ S2 SAO Optics Ready would fair on the same level being thrown into the mix .
    I shoot CZ S2 Optics Ready with CGW SAO Conversion in USPSA or 2Gun . In not good enough to be able to tell a real difference lol . I'm low B level in USPSA and probably close to A level if 2Gun was hit factor .

    I much prefer the SIG style locking lug, and the high power cam track, over the 1911 counter parts. I think the swinging link is more fragile, and the multi lugged hooded barrel doesn't improve repeatable lock up or strength.

    Hey David long time follower I don't remember if you recall but I did reach out and let you know that I believe it was last year that I got 15 gundies votes and proudly use them all on you... I really appreciate all your content and all you do for our practical shooting community .
    With that being said, not sure if you use this dad joke or not yet but here's one for you... ""Why do fathers take an extra pair of socks when they go golfing?" "In case they get a hole in one!"
    On a more serious note I was intrigued by her comment in this video with regards to a 4.5 in barrel VS. a full size 5-in barrel and of course in the context of this video it was in regards to 2011s... However I would be curious to know your thoughts on BOTH:
    4.5 IN BARRELS VS. A FULL 5-IN BARREL ON non 2011S (let's just say for the sake of the conversation and selfishly you could review the 4.25 VS the full frame 5-in Walther PDP) And of course any other gun that's between that 4.25-4.5 VS the full size 5-in
    And secondly 4.5 in (maybe using the Springfield prodigy) VS the full size 5-in prodigy - 2011s... It doesn't need to be those exact two models however I know that the Walther comes in a shorter barrel full size and a longer barrel full size and the prodigy does as well.. .
    At this point I think I'm rambling but I think you understand what I'm asking .
    If not please reply to this message as I am dictating this to you after watching your video on my car ride home lol

      I'm finishing an edit on the alien comparison video that will go live next friday today. What I can tell you is balance matters immensely. Alongside the alien - which is a balanced gun I'm shooting a 5" MPA DS9 with an aluminum grip which is nose heavy and a 5" MPA DS9-LOC with a steel grip which is nearly perfectly balanced. The LOC is a lot more stable in recoil and inspires confidence in a way the regular DS9 doesn't - not a ton different - but if I get to pick between them - I'm picking the LOC.
      That said - how you set up your gun and where it carries weight is possibly more important than jsut raw barrel length. I'm going to film a video this sunday playing with brass grips on a Canik Rival S and the P365 Legion seeing how moving weight around on the gun affects the recoil impulse. My theory is I will prefer the more balanced guns.

    i don't understand the glock/ sig mag thing as a benefit. these are 2 different markets, the crossover will be anecdotal.. but limited for now.. so the 'benefit' of using these 'cheaper' more common mags may be the driver but seems silly. just use 2011 mags. there, solved it.

      @TheHumbleMarksman  Před 3 měsíci
