  • The Sainsmart Genmitsu 4040 pro cnc machine is well built and easy to assemble. Easel works flawlessly to operate the machine and carve my first project. The 4040 pro has a working area of 15.7" x 15.7" x 3.1". This desktop cnc machine allows you to cut and carve from many material types such as wood and acrylic. The base of the machine has MDF as the spoiler board so you can replace the base as it gets used.

Adorable 775 motor for the router. An idea with those clamps: you could put scrap bits of the same 3/4 plywood under the other end so they sit parallel to the mdf bed; the wing nuts and washers can clamp better like that.

Suggestiion with the supplied clamps. Use the provided threaded rods or a long screw to insert in clamp (strap) threaded hole. Adjust height so strap is slightly higher than workpiece. Next, as you have done, insert a second threaded rod thru the strap slot and screw into base. Attach wingnut to this rod and tighten. When completed, it should have the strap tilting down to the workpiece, resting on the back screw for a firm hold. To maximize holding pressure, position the strap where the leveling screw is furthest from the hold down screw. This requires the workpiece position to be within the length of the strap end and then slot end.
Additional suggestion: the used method in the video will sooner than later, pull the mdf inserts out and damage the mdf.

you can put a bolt upside down in the threaded parts of the clamps, and use a spanner to put pressure on the workpiece.. t(on the supplied ones)

Being a complete novice to CNC and having recently purchased this machine, and watched your assembly video (Brilliant BTW) I have a simple question about Easel connecting to the 4040 pro: As the machine is not listed in Easel what settings should I use from the "other" menu. Ideally I would like a step by step guide on how to connect the machine, and I can't find this anywhere, I would really appreciate help from anyone.

Hello! I have Easel pro with Genmitsu 4040 pro. When I try to install the machine 4040 pro is not listed in the pull down menu for available machines. What machine do I need to select to be able to control my 4040 pro with Easel? Thank you!

Where can get that software? I got a genmitsu 4040 pro cnc, but the program that came with it, it’s not to create design. I don’t know how to bring the router to the correct height to start carving, I keep running the test design but the router/bit stays like about an inch above the wood.

Its a nice machine but dont get too happy with it. I got my 4040pro in February and it died on me today. Now i gotta wait till monday for customer service. Enjoy it while it runs...

Could you tell us what happend to your Machine? I was thinking about getting myself the 4040pro...

@DM-me3gb since i purchased the machine in February, I have had the cooling fan go out in march, next the main board died in april and now the most recent break down is the air assist pump for the laser engraver attachment and the main power switch is also broken. Genmitsu does have good customer service and the replacement parts do get sent out quick via DHL. However it is still inconvenient to have down time every month as part by part fails.

@DM-me3gb in that price point it is one of the better machines.

I've got a bunch of leftover T-track, do you think I could replace the included bottom board with it and it would make things a bit more stable in the center?

A bit curious, why the 4040 pro when you have the Carve King 2 sitting right there? CK2 has a slightly larger working area, runs the trim router and "arguably" appears to be a stronger machine. Just curious as I have been looking at both of them.

    • @LandtoHouse

Both machines were sent for youtube videos. They both work well and I don't have any real negative things to say. The small clamps need an upgrade but other than that both are good machines. The carve king does come with a nice router.

Not sure if anyone hitting this would be able to answer this question, but I have the 4040 Pro, and came up with a design that I would love to use as my first project with it. I have created an STL file for it, but Genmitsu uses a different file type for it's stuff, and I've tried finding how to convert an STL file to a Genmitsu file, and haven't been able to find anything. Are there any tutorials on how to do this anywhere? Anyone done this successfully? I've had the 4040 for a couple months now, and the enclosure I have it in is just gathering dust at this point.

Great video, could you possibly explain how Easel works with this cnc? What I mean, is did you have to install anything or is it running directly from the cnc being plugged in via usb? Thanks again and looking forward to your feedback.

    • @LandtoHouse
      @LandtoHouse  Před rokem +2

When you 1st Sign up for easel it gives you a file to download that will allow the CNC machine to talk to easel. When you plug up the control board on your CNC it automatically installs the driver's. It really is quite simple. I did have to unplug my other CNC machine in order for easel to recognize the new machine.
