Home help isn't around anymore. It's carers nowadays, pending on your heath conditions. My eldest daughter worked for social services in end of life care. And if your elderly with a private pension it costs them to have carers.

Sorry to hear about your Nan mate. A year is not very long. I never met either grandmother. Both died in the early 70's just before I was born. My grandfather's were good men though. Have a cool night and long weekend 😎

My Gran in Dublin, born 1898, used to say some terrible contradictory stuff / saw and loved Paul Robeson and Ella Fitzgerald in NY, 50s, but then would used a D word for black folk on tv when I was a kid / wasn’t said with hate.

Lived with my Grandparents for a bit (20 years ago or so) even when being really nice about and complimenting someone in story could end up with a "Whoa where'd that come from?!?" grenade getting rolled in (we're talking like born in 1914, still you're like WTF?!?).
