English, but I've lived and worked in Scotland for 20 years, and never really felt any hostility here, even in rougher parts. It's a civilised communitarian society; people are pretty decent. .

Eddy you should try McSweens Veggie Haggis if you don't like to eat a lot of meat. I love the original meat version but the Veggie one that McSweens sell in most supermarkets is still really good. It goes so well wae Curry Sauce btw.

There are kilts and kilts. Proper ones are heavyweight, involving a lot of tartan material (3.7 metres of double woven fabric) - of which there are hundreds of types to tie into clan names. They come with lots of anciliary gear that you can get from specialist kilt shops. Fake ones cost, say, £25, are sold by tourist shops, are lightweight and good for laugh, but not much else. Certainly not something to wear for a wedding. You can hire kilts too.
The modern kilt is an English invention. The plaid is the traditional, proper kilt.

Eddy just giving you a heads up for the Edinburgh leg of your Scottish journey.............hotel prices in Edinburgh are crazy,so you might do better staying in an town outside Edinburgh and getting the train in...........The train station "Edinburgh Waverley" and is in the city center . Better still maybe you have a fan in Edinburgh who could help out :)
Kilt sizes are pretty specific so you defo want to go to a kilt shop and get measured correctly for one - avoid the polyester crap they sell in tourist shops.
Most kilt shops usually sell ex-hire gear you can pick up quite reasonably, probably the way to go if you're not bothered about which tartan you end up with.

You don't have to rent a car to go most places. Yes there are places you can't get to without a car, and cars are more convenient, but I don't think there's any country that's 100% accessible by public transport! Most places are reachable by train, local bus, or by Scottish Citylink's coaches. Most of the islands have buses too, and the buses tend to run in time with the ferries. I don't drive and I've been all over the country! Haggis is often a starter on menus because it's so heavy. Next time you're here try a full Scottish breakfast - a proper one has square sausage and tattie scones with it. I've been in the shop where you bought your hoodie...I bought Guinness chocolates in there as toppings for Guinness Brownies I was making 😂A lot of places do kilt hire because you really need to be fitted for one and they are very expensive. If you go to Dumbarton, you need to visit Dumbarton Castle (Dumbarton F.C. is based almost directly underneath the castle). There's not much in Dumbarton town centre these days though so I'd recommend travelling another 15, 20 minutes and going to Loch Lomond!
Get a Kilt Man!!! Find a small family company somewhere on your travels and get one
We Scot’s don’t not like the English, but don’t ever call us English! Most pubs that serve food have a separate part for the pub area. You can take your kids in the restaurant part. And the islands (Skye, Orkney etc) are outside of Edinburgh lol

Eddy, check out a place called Aachmelvich Beach. Its honestly the most beautiful place and you can stay overnight, either hiring a caravan or camping in a tent. When you see pictures of it, i promise it'll blow your mind. I'm definitely heading there this summer. Also, where that guy is standing, King's College, is 5 mins walk from my place 😂

The dislike for the English is more of a sibling rivalry type of thing to most people, but any of the real hate will be more towards the English teams or the government
& the Glasgow thing is based on more on history most resent history they've been trying to clean up their act you should watch videos on the Glasgow crime

Great content as usual Eddy. Two minutes in and talking shite! Skye is awesome, but it's a long drive and accomodation is very expensive. All of the street names where I live are named after places on Skye. Try the Isle of Arran. Sometimes called Scotland in miniature and only an hour on the ferry. And you can hire a kilt. Some of them will deliver to Birmingham. We need to produce a McCheeee clan tartan!
