Just finished watching the movie and I really, really enjoyed it! The dedication and love he had for her and her survival was heartwarming. I also loved that they premiered an interracial couple that has an Indian women and a black man! I don't ever recall seeing that in my 48 years of watching movies.
I only wish they would have went more into the cause of the Pandemic and where exactly were they taking the women and what they were doing to them etc... I guess they just wanted to focus on the couple and how horrible the world would become without women, but as a women i already know that...lol.
I seen some comments about why she didn't just cut her hair to blend. Well for one, I don't think there's anything she could have done to take away from her femininity. Plus wasn't the whole point of the movie was a world where ones species was the target both by the disease and by mens evil, destruction and possible cause of the disease, in the first place? I think to make her look more like a boy would have taken away from that. Just my opinion..

Yeah that was pretty intense. Maybe more intense because it was a little girl. Some of the scenes look similar to this film.

***SPOILERS FOR WHY SHE DIDN’T CUT HER HAIR***
She was in isolation for over a year, never going outside. She got a positive test which is a death sentence within a week. She said she wanted to see a waterfall before she died and so they went on a trip. Any scene where you see her in public was a quick stop for food and groceries for the road trip. 🥴
So why didn't she cut the hair??

Honestly you can put it on in the background while you're busy w/ other things, and doing so won't sacrifice the experience of sitting down to watch it, or your ability to fully understand the plot & takeaway. I've seen worse, it's just dull. The main goal (character/relationship study) is uninspiring, uncreative & forcedly relatable. A story having an overused plot isn't a problem if you can tell it in a way that almost feels unique to that movie (or if the story, told & delivered, is high quality).
That's the scripts fault though, not the actors. They were pretty much all great w/ working w/ what they had. The story has promise, but the writer and/or director needs a little more guidance on 'captivating' storytelling (bringing it to life), and how to invoke connectivity & emotional investment from the viewers.
