Thanks so much for the clarity of your video! I have a question regarding which facelift would be best for a 75 year old woman having a second facelift. The first facelift was a SMAS.
Thank you so much for the explanation! I'm scheduled for a deep plane lift in September. Now I'm sure that I've chosen the right procedure You're the best!!😊
Mini face lift it is. Everyone tells me I have great skin, but my girlfriend says im getting older looking. This has bothered me some and I would take what my girlfriend says as a sign that I need a mini lift. Great explainantion doc.
@@KonstantinVasyukevichMD Ive done rhinoplasty not too far from where you are a few years ago. Will be moving back to Manhattan in a few months. I will reach out then for a consult.
Very good explanation, thank you. May I ask you if it's common in your practice to have patients who ask for a facelift at 30+ even if they don't look bad? (excuse my English)
I had a mini facelift in my early 40's. I am dealing with significant nasolabial folds and some lower face laxity. Do you believe that I would need the deep plane, or will the SMAS be sufficient for me? Thank you.
Minimal Access Cranial Suspension (MACS) is not something I would recommend since it is. version of a short-scar incision lift. I have a separate video about it.
Is a deep plane facelift referred to as a “lower facelift”? I have talked to a plastic surgeon who said he does deep plane face lifts, but he calls then “lower facelift”. How can I approach him to find out if he is doing a full deep plane facelift?
Thank you for your question! If the surgeon perform a deep plane facelift, he would let you know the technique. If it is not a deep plane, most probably that would be SMAS
Thank you for your question! It really depends. Both procedures would target a sagging jawline. Deep plane facelift is more invasive but it lasts longer.
Thank you Dr Konstantin, great video! If you could please clarify one point, that would be super helpful. You mentioned that some one younger, say in their 40's gets a deep plane facelift, they may not see a lot of difference between a SMAS vs Deep Plane facelift technique. However if that younger person does a Deep Plane, would that person look younger for a longer time (as opposed to if they had done SMAS) given the ligaments are released and repositioned ? Thanks!
We do endoscopic facelifts here, in the USA, as well. In my practice, the difference is in use of a endoscopic camera during the surgery but the technique is similar which could be different in Turkey.
What about if you have bad perioral mounds due to weak receding chin . Baby 👶 but I am 32 want to bring that mound up to not show... but would a Smas help that ? No neck issues... no wrinkles... but the mounds are bag 😅
Typically, a SMAS lift helps with perioral area improvement but it will not help 100%. We need to discuss in more details and I would love to see the patient. Would be happy to consult you. You can call my office 212-380-3634
Hi, Dr is it possible to have a deep plane mini facelift/lower face lift and neck lift or is it only possible to have a deep plane facelift with a full face lift?
All cases are individual and it's best to discuss it with a doctor you are planning to have a surgery with. In general, the diffrence between SMAS facelift and a DEEP PLANE facelift is in releasing the ligaments that hold your cheeks to the cheek bones. If you are planning for the lower facelift and a neck lift, maybe a SMAS facelift would be sufficient enough for you but, again, it's best to discuss your case with a doctor.
Dr in confused. I'm about to go for a deep plane. But I was told of won't lift the platisma bands and they will have to be cut separately and then... Botox further down the line. Is this right
it depends whether your procedure includes a neck lift or not. Also, different doctors have different techniques. Facial plastic surgeons are typically more versed in facial surgeries vs. plastic surgeons - I hope you are planning your surgery with a double board certified facial plastic surgeon
Thank you for your question! The insurance does not cover a deep plane facelifts but I do provide zero-interests payment plans for my patients. If you are interested, you can contact my office at 212-380-3634 or email reception@drkonstantin.com
Hi doctor I’m only 37 and having middle face n jowls sagging already.. I’m thinking of just doing SMAS.. coz I’m worried if I reach around 60 definitely I need another lift..and I’m thinking this is the best time to get deep plane.. what’s ur opinion bout this. Thank you
Thank you for your question and I need to see you to give my recommendation in your case...In general, I have patients who have mini facelifts in their 30s and then another facelift later in the years.
Got it! Thank you for pointing out the stages at which either procedure would be preferable. You have a lovely way of presenting information.
Thank you so much, I'm glad it was helpful!
Best video that gives clarity to pple considering a face lift. Bravoooooooo. ❤ From France

The doctor should make decisions based upon patient needs .. regular people don't know the muscle vertical vectors ligaments to be release to lift .
Allow me to disagree. A patient might express a need in something that a plastic surgeon would not do so the decision should be mutual.

Thank you for your wonderful question! Typically no but sometimes I turn away patients who are not candidates for a lift yet.
So handsome 😘
Is there any negative long term effect of releasing the ligaments? Do they reattach at their new position
Thank you for the question! I have not seen any long-term negative effects of releasing the ligaments in my cases as the benefits outweigh this!

Thank you for writing to me! I would love to see you for a consultation. For the nasolabial folds, fat transfer might work well.
How about the MACS facelift? Where does that fit in?

There is no such thing as a lower deep plane lift.

Technically, a facelift is a mid-face and lower face lift, either it is deep plane or SMAS. It depends what we mean by saying "lower"
For marionette line and little sagging jawline , which face lift is better? Deep plane or SMAS? Thank you for your video.
Thank you for your question! It really depends. Both procedures would target a sagging jawline. Deep plane facelift is more invasive but it lasts longer.
Smas for me.

Do you use general anesthesia for deep plane face lift?
I use either IV sedation or local anesthesia with sedation. General anesthesia for a deep plane facelift is not necessary
Great explanation...do you do fat transfer along with the deep plane lift?
depends on the patient! Not all patients need fat transfer, but if they do we can do this during the procedure.
How much?? No insurance deep plane
