Well, as I can't sacrifice the cost of a small used car for lights, I picked up a pair of Govee Lyra Floor Lamp's that are similar and put out quite a bit of light. The are tall like the Astera AX1's but I am working on a better base for these to stand on. They are bright and do very similar shows to what the AX1's do. Check them out on YT and see for yourself. I may even check out a pair of the Govee RGBICW Smart Corner Floor Lamp's as well.
Just a thought and hope I didn't step on anyone's toes. Great vid Joe as usual and keep up the good work. As a Crate Hacker DJ, you are doing great stuff.

Which one you would chose for permanent use in dance studio this or Ape coin with tube adapter? And Ape sticks?
Those stands are nice! I was considering maybe JMaz battery powered moving heads in the future but I may be getting these instead! Didn't understand the first time that these were easy to use, and so I didn':t have an opinion. Will be an awesome light show with my Ape Labs gear. 🇩🇪

Jmaz, would be my last options, astera look great and seem to perform in the pro level. jMaz and most brands are just lights to make a show not like these that can be use in pro production. I may sell my curent led sticks(china generic make) and get a few of these sets.

Hey Joe great review and these have been on my radar for a while now. In your opinion and having used them for weddings, if static colors are used for cocktails and dinner and then full colors for dancing, how long do the batteries last? I'm seeing mixed reviews online. Thanks!
You can adjust how long you want them to last in the app. They'll last longer than a wedding reception, I know that much.
they can last upto 20 hrs it can be adjusted from the app. by adjusting the brightness.

I am a single op and generally dont have an assistant or anyone controlling lights. How is the sound mode on these? and do you need that extra box to get the sound mode to work or can you just set it to sound mode on the light or bluetooth app? Thanks!
You need that little box. Tons of sound op modes on the ipad app.

No, but saw them down in SC with Justin Reid. Not nearly as cool as the app tbh.

Joe, the link to the stands doesn’t work. I did a search on the site for the stands and I found them, but no case. Did you get the case for the stands from a different source?
I haven't talked to him in a while. Lightsmiths in Seattle was the company, maybe he stopped making them. It was just an SKB case with custom cut foam insert.

After your review of the Ax1s I bought an entire set with the charge case, etc ($6k+ btw). I gotta say Joe, this company has the worst customer service I've ever seen. After only 9-10 uses, one of the batteries failed on one of the lights and my transmitter was always unpairing from the app during my sets. It was pulling teeth to get a work order started and now that I've sent the light off for repair, the ONLY communication I've received is a bill for $200. They don't return any calls or respond to emails. At this point I don't even know if I'll get my light back after I pay them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY DJS. The lights are cool but the company SUUUUUCKS.
Damn, I hate to hear that. If I worked for them, or was an ambassador, I'd step in. But I paid for mine just like you did.
