I'm hooked on this show. Judge Caprio is a compassionate and understanding man. He's a good hearted person. Also has a great sense of humor.
Being compassionate means that you weight the facts and the statements from the respondent and give out the best compromise based on the fact and evidence and what the respondents say.

The Judge is not a fool, but weighs up each excuse, and gives an honest judgement. What a great guy. I wish I were related, but I'm in the UK so I'm probably not.

It's very different over here. Parking tickets and minor traffic offences are used as a way to boost the under funded council's budgets. If you choose to go to court and lose you will pay much more than the original ticket so most people pay up, have a moan about it in typical British fashion and get on with life. Speeding tickets also come with 3 points on your licence, get 12 points and you are disqualified from driving for a year.

I love this Judge. Even though I am almost 75 years old, I wished he had been my Dad. ps: In my nearly 60 years of driving, I've only had one traffic violation in NH where I live. I love the show. Judge Caprio is a fair and wonderful human being.

Since watching Caught In Providence, for the last 3 weeks, I have not been able to stop watching. Judge Caprio has such compassion, fairness, and wisdom that makes a heart feel good. There should be more judges on television like Judge Frank Caprio.

The US judicial systemdisgusts me , particularly as it seems all judges.are politicaly appointed .
But in the case of this man it isrefreshing to see a judsge that actually judges cases with understanding of the human condition . .
The US Supreme Court is a travesty , beingappointed for their politcal leaning , rather than meit .

i think this judge is probably the ONLY one i've EVER seen that is fair, compassionate, humorous, and a decent person all around. too bad 99% are NOT ! but i'm still glad to see one judge that isn't all about convictions
Kevin Raven I think we’re use to seeing those fake arbitrators that wear robes, such as Judy Judy and Judge Matthis. Judges cannot do that stuff in real life courts. That’s why this judge seems more compassionate and fair, as he is following the law.
It's relatively easy to be compassionate on red light violations. You wouldn't want that for real heavy crimes.

Well I would like to think of it as an investment into the city. I would choose something save like a parking ticket. The money is hopefully used for infrastructure and traffic safety. (As a non american I am not sure this is how it works though)

The judge understands the the life and struggles the little ordinary people go through everyday! The mother taking her children to school, the office worker, the father, the young girl......! His execution of judgement is wise, compassionate and at times hilarious. I offer my deepest respect for this judge! Imagine what the penal world would be like if we have more judges like him.

Exactly Friedrich, I could say "no" to question like this in at least 3 languages which I don't understand and I guess, there could be many more languages in which I could presume the meaning of the question if somebody would ask. Absolutely nothing special here.

This is one of the best shows ever the judge is fair, nice, understanding and willing to give people a break like warnings but I don't think he'll take any attitude with anyone so cool keep up the good work.
I haven’t seen him make people pay when they lost a loved one. Today he seems to be harsher on this show than on others.

I'm a centrist who leans to the right a bit, but I do also have some liberal leanings. Judge Caprio is a registered Democrat and is labeled as the Patriarch of the RI Democratic Party. That being said, I'm pretty sure he is of the old school democratic mentality, where compassion was the driving force behind the party platform instead of the current platform that uses fear to play on people's emotions. He is a measured, compassionate man whom I would love to meet someday (though I wouldn't want to do so in his courtroom) - perhaps to sit down with a nice glass of Castello Di Amma L'Apparita just to hear him tell his stories. His past history, his current life, and his future legacy are all things that inspire hope in this world. I enjoy the cutups and levity in the courtroom, but more importantly, I appreciate the manner by which he uses compassion and common sense to apply the law. He reminds me of my late grandfather (whom I loved dearly and miss with all of my heart). You folks in Providence have a great man on the bench there.
