    multi-registration is a way to avoid tickets (people think). you do not - ever, ever, ever, ever register a car for anyone else, you dont get a credit card for anyone else, or do anything that you are giving away control of tied to your name. Simple.

Compassionate or not, he's still a judge and they usually don't give people the benefit of the doubt right off the bat when they see skipped court dates and assume they are great at fibbing to get out of things. That's what I think anyways🤷

The intersection I came to had a green light so I thought the red sighn was only there for when the light was red too but evidently if you see a stop sighn at an intersection with a light you have to yield to on comming traffic that is turning your way.
    Funny how the driving book nor driver's education ever went over this one.......

    I don't understand what it is about multiple registrations that people use to try to get out of tickets. You should be able to register all your vehicles. One person is allowed to have multiple vehicles. Now the second lady with 4 "different registrations", was that on the same car? If so, how is it that RI doesn't use VINs to differentiate cars to detect an identical VIN with an existing registration being used to get another registration? That should raise a red flag and not be allowed. I obviously don't understand something with how RI registers vehicles...

    @jonlikespi3296 Před 3 lety

    I generally agree with Judge Caprio's decisions (if you can give deserving persona break, then why not?). However, I think he missed some serious points with Betty's verdict. If she had come in with remorse and ownership of her guilt, then sure. But, she admitted to doing this FOR YEARS. That was her defence (plus some utter nonsense about a semantic inconsistency fabricated by her): I've been getting away with this violation for years without being caught... How can you reward that with leniency??
    Furthermore, even if there had been no sign there, that STILL would have been illegal. You have to STOP at a red light before making a right turn (in the absence of a sign prohibiting doing so). To not even stop before making an illegal right turn is just unacceptable. No reduction should have been made.
    Lastly, these people who say they "stopped", when all they did was tap the breaks to be able to make the turn need to be given a serious talking to. That does not constitute a stop, and to not explain that allows these people to continue operating under this false belief. Maybe people watching from home might then pick up on this lesson?

    Judge said that it seemed like he was harsh with her but that it wasn't personal. It seemed very personal to me. He basically called her a liar. He judged her character. Now I obviously don't have the information in front of me that the judge does but I wasn't expecting the judge to be so severe to her. I've seen other defendants in front of him that I felt *didn't* deserve leniency. Whatever was going on behind the scenes, I guess the defendant can be grateful he gave her a $1300+ break from the totality of the fines.

    That last girls family probably did do her wrong. Some people will ride their family and not take responsibility. I really believe her. She seems to have a bad selfish family.

    Not sure why the last case wasn't believable.
    I would have done the same thing. If i borrowed my car to my sister and find out the car is booted and has several tickets. I'm not going to forfeit the car, i would go to court, explain the circumstances, pay and reconsider my relationship with be sister if she takes 0% responsibility

    That’s a 100% believable story because of the car is booted And then it’s towed she can lose the Car that is financed and now they’re going to come out for her for a car that she didn’t get back

    Im disappeared in you Caprio. You didnt see the full story of the last girl. Inspector Quinn understood her right away.

      I think a 70% reduction is nothing to be "disappeared" about.
      I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

      The reduction was totally fair. The way he spoke to her at first wasnt.

      She lied. She admitted it in the comments of this video on the FB page. She said she cried and lied to get a reduced fine.

    The judge did give 73% discount. To the second lady but Judge Caprio did act tough....when you have a week old child I expected him to be more considerate.
