I've been wanting to do one of these since I started this channel - it's a refight of the battle report from White Dwarf 229 using the latest Old World rules, and as close to the original forces as possible.

300 year old minis, still aren’t painted. 😂 Classic warhammer people. The old school map, and ghe enthusiasm brought back memories though, so it was good fun
To be fair, I've only had the Empire a year since I got them in trade for a sisters of battle army I'd had for 14 years and hadn't painted 😂
All of mine were painted I had to borrow some unpained ones from Ben😁
Although The night goblin archers were only painted this year and I bought them when Warhammer 4th ed first came out. 😂
Ben, may I suggest that the crossbows didn’t deliberate over which target to shoot at - they quarrelled!!

Fun content! I just wanted to let you know that exposure to sunlight isn't good for paint on the miniatures. The colors will fade over time and be less lively.
Thanks for the heads up! Just checked and my mini cabinet is next to a north facing window which is probably a good thing. Think having them outside for a couple of hours for a game is probably ok though.

Nope, after the first shot we realized we were using the wrong size and corrected!

No, it was the Battle of Talabheim scenarios from white dwarf 183 - if you can find a digital copy online it's absolutely worth a read, it's very cool.
@@90percentgeek Ah, ok. Thanks for the suggest. Unfortunately, the German editions do not always contain the English scenarios, but I wasy lucky and found it on ebay. I am excitied now to read it =)
Hey, just I found this old White Dwarf two days ago and read the battle report. Shame your cannon crew didn't abandon their weapon and just charge the goblins in melee.
That's what I did wrong! Forgot how badass the crew had been in that battle, though to be fair, that was a hell blaster crew so they may be cut from a different cloth!

Love the idea of making a army from a old white dwarf …the doom diver should only be using a 3” template not a 5”

Outstanding, I was just sitting down to start chipping away at a big 18-man batch paint and this popped up! Fantastic! As to your question on Patreon, how about re-fighting the Undead vs Beastmen report from 217 we were talking about the other day!
That could be very cool. I've been wanting to do a Beastman army and this might be the incentive I need. Michael has the Tomb Kings box which is a lot of the stuff you need for the Undead army actually - maybe just swap in a Necromancer to lead it instead of a Tomb King. I'm off to OldWorldArmyBuilder to work out how they compare on points!

@@90percentgeek That sounds great - share the original list with me and I'll see what I can make in terms of a list?
I've just added them up in Old World Army Builder. I had to use a Vampire list with loads of allies for the Undead list, which comes in at just over 2K for what had previously been a 3K list in 5th edition. The beasts list is about 2170 again for what had been a 3K list. If I can get a beasts army together this year then we can definitely play it, might bring it down to 2K each by reducing some of the magic items or unit sizes very slightly.
Looked absolutely fantastic.... I think when the pillar and fanatics land on a unit they come out the others side... so when landing on the BSB would have landed on the night gobos and to the rear of them.
Might have made a difference, though I think the fanatic moved sideways through the BSB into the empty space in front of the night gobbos.
The game was too much fun for any change in outcome or to make any difference, more for future games.
@@90percentgeek Yeah, it did. It popped out the other side of the BSB just behind the swordsmen.
@@user-se3dx9qu8l We got a lot of rules wrong, some of which we fixed as we went and some others we probably missed.
@Funkodrom you want to see how many I got wrong in my first games. Yours was perfection in comparison! Oh, and still learning.

When I do the Glazers Creek one, I'm tempted to try and collar Paul Sawyer and Adrian Wood to do the rematch!

Yeah, sorry - we will work on that, I promise! I've bought a rail to mount over the table which can be used for a top down view, and we'll focus more on what's actually in frame on the handheld.
Mostly my bad camera work, sorry! I was cringing as I was watching it back. Ben regularly pointing at something cool that just happened and me not showing you. We'll get better. 😀

Yes , the Empire player should be brought before the court marshal.
It's a fair cop. I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do with Empire though!
